That charging led on hummer are sick 😍
I never thought I'd find the Hummer cool, but this one is incredibly cool. I'd take it over the Cybertruck any day.
I can already see these two trucks are going to split people sharply down the line. I have heard people say they love the Hummer and what was Tesla thinking with that Cybertruck, and the exact opposite, poeple saying Cybertruck is amazing and Hummer is lame. I won't pretend to be down the middle as I lean towards the Cybertruck myself lol. I look forward to unending arguments with Hummer people 🤣
@@Sgt_Glory I prefer more features and better design over more range (350 is plenty, don't need 500+ miles) and brand recognition.
@@Ezero8 You have that backwards. Features and design is the Cybertruck built in and not extra not the HumV.
The Ev does not even have a working prototype.
The stainless steel body is just pure utility. Absolute freaking tank.
The Hummer is beautiful! If it were more affordable I would buy it in a heartbeat!
both are $100,000

Yeah they should of came down on price and flooded the market to build the EV brand up. Now only a few select rich people get to experience it. I know they trying to make money but they need to think about the long game to compete with Tesla.

The Tesla Cybertruck seems to have more bang for the buck in performance. The Hummer definitely looks better.
I disagree whith that
I personally hated the look of Cybertruck at launch but now the design seems to have grown on me. I look at the Hummer now and find it looks too safe/pedestrian, which aren't words I would want to associate which this brand. It's like everything I've seen a million times before by all the established automakers when they had a perfect opportunity to really have fun with it. Looking at the specs/features, it's going to be a great EV, it's just a shame they didn't try a bit harder to evolve the look of the traditional hummer. I acknowledge this might not have been the best choice business wise for them and playing it safe will likely win the sales they are seeking, but I love the transition taking place thanks to EVs, it's exciting in a market that's felt (to me) a bit stagnant prior to the rise of Tesla. I personally like what some like Hyundai are doing with the Ioniq 5, providing features and new innovations that are enabled by the move to EV to really differentiate themselves. In terms of Trucks, I think Rivian is probably doing the best job right now of balancing traditional features with the flexibility afforded by EVs though, the R1T is a really nice blend of traditional design, with modern tweaks and functional changes. Can't wait to see what the next 10 years bring.
I like it when the guy says Tesla range is a "bit better" at 500 miles vs Hummer at 350 miles. Wow, 43% higher is only a bit? Ok buddy.
Tesla’s won’t reach even close to that in reality tho
Yeah cuz range is what everyone cares about 🙄
@@ayushtarafder3521 You're totally wrong tesla will probably reach 600 miles for Cybertruck now instead of the 500

They're both good trucks optimized for slightly different purposes. For utilitarian buyers the Cybertruck wins hands down.
If the Hummer's drivetrain is designed by the same crew that did the bolt, I'll take one. My neighbors bolt has never been in the shop in over 100k miles. It's not a pretty car but super reliable.

This guy seems like he is working for GM. Up playing Hummer and down playing Cybertruck
Also the hummer is not a hummer and never has been its a gmc suburban/Tahoe with a hummer style body and a hummer name plate. The main feature of the hummer is all independent suspension. GM's hummers have the suburban solid axle
@@zacharysmith8068 You're talking about the old Hummers. And the H1 did have independent suspension. The H2 and H3 were based on truck platforms. However, this new one has literally nothing to do with suburbans. It's a new platform developed specifically for this new Hummer and DOES have independent suspension.
Yes base almost completely stripped. Once you start clicking the option list, it can be in the $100k+ easily. But then again this is just all speculating, we'll have to wait to see what Telsa have up their sleeves.
@@hybridstiger let’s take model 3 for example. In Canada it’s $52k the options are paint, wheel, interior colour and FSD. Even if you add everything it’s $63k. Great review.! Exactly what I was looking for
The graphic presentation was really beautiful, what software is used for that?
Tesla for drug trafficking. Hummer for off-road
You mean Hummer for people that put it away in the garage every night just in case it gets scratched? Who care how many branches and rocks hit the CT as it won't ever rust. As for the under body camera's they are a gimmick as they will be smashed by rocks by anyone going on a gravel road.

I'm not going to be able to afford either of these cars, but I love both of them. The Cybertruck has that 1980's "Car of the Year 2000" look, and the Hummer looks so much like something you'd place in a science fiction film. I'm really interested in what kinds of models these two will spinoff into.

What metal used to make hummer vehicles. Please answer
No way is the Cyber Truck going to pass road worthy safety requirements with those sharp corners.
And the hard exoskeleton that doesn't crumple at all
Well both the trucks are magnanimous so I'll purchase both of them.
Bruv.. do you work for GM? e.g. 2:28 a bit better?? Difference of 150 miles for half the price. @cnet Pls have Brian Cooley do more of these if you wanna maintain integrity of your channel.
Same reaction here. A bit better haha. 500 vs 350. Major difference would had been a better description. Not even mentioning charging network and price.
I have a Tesla Model S 2020 and can't wait for the Cyber Truck out to trade-in the model S.
the hummer is so cool! I want it right now!
I actually love the design of the Hummer EV, but if anyone think it's more useful as a truck than the CT, I have a hard time believing you actually own a truck. A 5 foot bed with 350 miles of range? What are you going to put in the bed? Where are you going to tow? Hummer EV as a Jeep competitor, great. As any truck competitor, no. Also, the price will guarantee low volumes, not enough to make any noise, at all.
GM said the hummer is going to drop in price every year until it's $80,000 in 2024. They set the initial price high to make the truck profitable while they ramp up production of electric vehicles. So eventually that price should be more on par with the top tier Tesla
@@Midwestmint That's correct but it will only have 250 miles range and half the features. By 2024, Tesla will have a comparable truck for $40k. Also Rivian will be cheaper at the same range and features. This is a great offering for 2018, not 2022.
if you want a real work horse truck just dont buy a EV i mean i love the Hummer EV but as a workhorse none of them caonvinces me
Well not being a unibody, having automatic load leveling and 4w steering make it ideal for towing. Nice things like .....well mirrors for one make it better than the CT and no doubt GM will use it's excellent rear video camera/mirror. I wouldn't throw sheetrock into the bed of a pickup these days anyway, thats why I have a trailer but I would like a stronger frame, tow hooks ,and other features the Hummer offers that the CT doesn't. That said, GM is already further along at this stage of development. Modular battery design makes it easier and cheaper to upgrade as well as repair and improves long term maintenance. There are significant advantages to GMs design and given how much more experience they have with manufacturing trucks, my own having over 300k miles, I would trust them over Tesla which has been plagued with quality and reliability problems.
Also they haven't even announced how much it can tow or haul!
I preordered my Cyber truck. Can’t wait to get it.

Both are insane in their own right, the Hummer are for pure off Roaders seeing it's capabilities and then a pickup truck. Cyber truck is a pickup truck first with its autonomous features, that also can do off road driving. They both add value to their customers, dispite bieng fully electric. If the customers can have a solar set up in their house, this will totally be called Green vehicles. Awesome work from both companies paving the way to these new possibilities without a doubt..
just pre-ordered mine! So excited !
No need to describe which you've pre-ordered... ;)
Given all the crazy things happening now. I much prefer the Cybertruck, that look of "Get in if you want to survive", rather than Hummer "Let's go road trip" vibe. LOL
I put down my deposit on my Cybertruck dual motor this year knowing that next year when I receive it it'll be even better than the one that was at the Cybertruck unveiling.
Reserved the Cybertruck and still more than happy with the choice. The camera underneath on the Hummer is a great idea and it's a much better looking beast than both the Rivian and arguably the Cybertruck, although beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the cleverness in the construction of the Cybertruck, it's utility for a tradie makes it positively glow.
I was going to say almost that exact same thing. Great minds think alike!! (then again feeble minds probably do too.) My current truck has over 250K miles and the powertrain is fine but rust is taking over the body, Tesla had me at "stainless steel". Put my deposit down on the Cybertruck and I have my welder working on the design for a ladder rack - I plan on this being the last work tuck I ever own.
@@workhourse1316 Yes, I have also been imagining what might be possible with a welder for adding racks to the stainless steel body. I'm thinking some kind of bracket that welds snug to the body and lends itself to attaching various attachments that can be released and attached quickly for purpose. I have always been a bit precious with my paintwork off road too. I'm pretty sure I'll be a lot more relaxed trailblazing in a cybertruck than any of the others .
Wait and see what attachment points might be available in the vault. Depending on your needs it might be better to have a pop-up rack that can be stowed under the tonneau cover when not in use. Ladder racks add a lot of drag, and if you don't need a tall ladder with you all the time you might want to be able to stow that rack and keep the advantages of lower drag.
@@alanlight7740 Good point - not only for the drag but the wind whistle. I would much prefer to leave the engineering of a rack to Tesla than my own.

THAT IS WHY TESLA NEVER REVEALED CYBER TRUCK'S FULL CAPABILITIES
Who would take a $100k+ vehicle off road. I never saw anybody off road with any hummer,
The Hummer is by far the better vehicle. GM leveraged 100 plus years of truck building experience and it shows. Love the removable roof and high stance that looks like a truck. Also love the extensive dealer network for support. Tesla may win on battery technology for now, but GM dominates in real world truck building know how. Selling out in 10 minutes is proof that they have a winner. Just wish I was one of those lucky few.
Tesla have 1.5 million pre-orders, though. Also, the base model CT is $40k. That's 1/3 the Hummer.
@@danielmonge2318 GM sold out preorders too and they stand to make a profit on these. Who wins? Hummer brand has some serious clout.

Abba Pappa, I'm putting my order in for the SUV Hummer.
GM does not have the one made yet. It is just a computer graphic and list of target/wish list. Hope it is better than Nikola's offering. One question for GM owners... Why pay $113,000+ for it while there is better GM (gas) truck already at 70% of the cost OR buying a CyberTruck which is faster/better range/more towing/pulling/better featured/existing... all around at only $69,900. Besides, nobody knows when they can "reserve" one since GM already "sold-out" like Nikola, without telling how many of hummer is up there for "reservation", like ...Nikola. Pretty sure none will be available in 2021 and even good part of 2022.... hmm...

Winter months can take its toll. Heater going full time. Lights on. Radio on. Battery life expectancy in cold climates. Inquiring minds would like to know.
There are about a thousand KZhead videos out there about winter in EVs. It’s not as bad as you think and with the smaller cabin in this truck relative to battery size, it’s probably less of an issue. Tesla is introducing efficient heat pumps and their nextgen batteries have better thermal characteristics. The larger the battery, the longer to get cold and the slower it loses heat.
the heat pump and octovalve in the model Y will be in the cybertruck, so it will be fine in cold climates
Mark Brand Thanks. I’m gonna search harder. Any specific video you recommend?
ABritishGuy That would be a great asset. Once I can see this with my own eyes would really make me jump into one. Do a few trials and see. It will improve as time goes on I’m sure.
Might want to upgrade those plug lines to keep vehicles warm when they're parked. Otherwise, I share your concerns but think they can be dealt with, one way or another. One possibility would be to add a small fuel cell in the storage area under the bed. Fuel cells have some disadvantages compared to batteries, especially as they take about 45 minutes to really get going - but a small fuel cell in conjunction with a large battery could extend range and - in cold climates - provide a lot of extra heat. I think people who think there won't be ANY problems don't really know what they're talking about. If you've ever ridden a snowmobile with the handlebar heaters turned all the way up and you can't even feel the heat, you'll know what sort of cold I mean.
Tug of war between these two
I am H3 owner and therefore, was interested in Hummer EV, but I am price sensitive, so let see :)
So funny that GM does not let any of these so-called reviewers actually drive their silly display "truck". Probably has a lawnmower battery and motor inside. Talking about 0 to 60 times is a joke, for a vehicle that can barely move around the parking lot.
The GM display truck is simply that and totally not able to be driven. All the stuff in the video is CGI and nothing more than a cartoon. It doesn't even have its own batteries as an EV should be able to power its instrument panels for weeks BUT it was plugged in.....
There are a few videos out there of an actual Hummer EV in disguise being driven .

The Hummer EV of course.
.gm has been pricing themselves out of the EV market ever since the ELR and they don’t really seem too enthusiastic about their Volt or, Bolt. Time to get realistic with pricing! 112K was the average cost of a house a few decades ago.
112k for this Hummer is actually pretty low. Believe it or not, 112k for that... Is an insanely good deal as a top trim. Performances are absurd, you have insane amounts of space, it's pretty, it has a good enough range (and the quick charge means you can go pretty much everywhere you want). Compare the Hummer to cars in the same price range and you'll quickly see it dumpsters most of them. This isn't a Volt, this isn't a Bolt and this isn't a Prius either. This isn't meant for your average guy so pricing is irrelevant. It's like saying Ferrari is killing itself with pricing.
