A handmade monowheel based on real Formula 1 tires is an innovative and unique way to create a transportation vehicle. The monowheel is essentially a large wheel with the rider seated inside the wheel and pedals attached to the axle. A Formula 1 tire, which is designed for high-speed racing, is used as the outer casing of the wheel, providing durability, stability and traction.
The process of building a monowheel based on real Formula 1 tires would likely involve sourcing the tires and then custom building the monowheel frame to fit the tire. The frame would need to be strong enough to support the rider and all the necessary components, such as the pedals and drivetrain. The Formula 1 tire would need to be mounted on the frame in such a way that it can rotate freely while providing the necessary stability and balance for the rider.
This particular monowheel would be faster and more agile than traditional monowheel designs due to the high-performance and lightweight materials of Formula 1 tire . It could be a perfect vehicle for thrill-seekers and speed enthusiasts who want to experience the thrill of Formula 1 racing in a unique way. But it would not be a practical option for daily commuting and due to it's complexity and the cost.
However, building a monowheel based on real Formula 1 tires would be a challenging and time-consuming process, requiring a high degree of skill, knowledge and specialized equipment. It is a project for highly skilled mechanics and the end result is a one-of-a-kind vehicle that can provide an exhilarating ride experience.
Overall, a handmade monowheel based on real Formula 1 tires is an innovative and unique way to create a transportation vehicle. It offers a fast and agile ride experience but it's not a practical option for daily commuting and it's a project for highly skilled mechanics and thrill-seekers.

I can’t decide if you’re a genius or insane.. either way, your videos are awesome, keep up the great work.
When your Crew Chief pulls up in this, you know your in for some fun!
You use medium on wet track, meanwhile Leclerc use inters on dry track.
1. You like wheels. 2. You're awesome!
Cool idea but I would have used some stronger motors than one for a hoverboard. Not even for speed, just safety reasons. I'm surprised it was even able to keep you balanced and not overpower the motor with the weight of the wheel and the massive fulcrum your wide stance around the tire created. You've got to be just on the edge of what those motors can push out.
I bet an modded Ebike Drive motor would be the ticket. Cheers
Then make your own you smarty pants
Take my money!
Nice work dude. 👍👍 Great end product.
The rate of the video stream is amazing it would take me 4 months to do one of these products
Nice to see my companies logo on such an interesting build. Will be sure to share with my colleagues at Mahle.
That's the coolest mono wheel I've ever seen!
Dude you should buy a VESC for this build... It's a DIY onewheel controller and has the ability to support large 84v batteries and can go an easy 30mph.
A VESC isn't going to help much when they're using motors from a hoverboard that are barely strong enough to spin a F1 Tire, let alone move the whole frame and a person on top of it effectively. Those motors would catch on fire if you try and push them any harder than he already is.
@@Da0yster he already swapped out the hoverboard motor for a beefier one. He only used the hoverboard motor for the bench test. Nothing stopping him from swapping in an euc or motorcycle motor.
@@freedomcaller That's on me, looks like I didn't notice the motor swap. Cheers
I love you man and I think what you're doing is amazing👍

Fabulous work bro Subscribed 👍🏻

Wonder what it would be like if u had the soft compound instead of a medium maybe it would shave off 1/2 a second

great idea, but i think it would be more interesting if the wheal was in the other direction, it would make more space to fill the legs😉

What An Idea Sir G
but you don't show how you climb with the second foot, you'll use a ladder because you haven't mounted the pressure sensors 😉
should defiantly try to make one with more oompfh idk if its fact but i did look like it was struggling to move much faster than it was going perhaps a stronger brushless motor controller or battery will help since that frame probably weighs a bit not to mention the literal f1 rim and tire your using .. still very creative I wouldn't of thought the components could be reused like this granted you made a hover board into another type of hover board so it makes since.
It's more so that it would be really damn difficult to balance with your legs that far apart 🤣
Yes, need a LOT more power. How about using an EUC instead of a howerboard?
Used a motor designed for a much smaller wheel without any gear reduction, so there wasn't enough torque
@@arturpekosz makes since I was surprised to see the auto leveling still functioned despite the different proportions from the original unit
@@Murgoh lol yeah that would probably be a lot more zippy also less overall modification would be needed I would think maybe they're just trying to be "budget friendly" I don't really know though seems like they just do things for the sake of doing them
Great video.
My question is: where do you get the F1 tires? I'm pretty sure F1 is really cautious of where their wheels end up
Specifically Pirelli because there is a genuine fear that a rival company will take a part of a tire, reverse engineer it, and profit from it
Exactly, heard they even had teams to sweep entire track after each race to collect all the tire debris, just so no one can't know the composition of the tire
It's probably just a slick made to look like an f1 tire. I am pretty sure f1 tires are wider.
Maybe from shell company
There is a site what sells all official F1 memorabilia including the wheels, exhausts, wings etc
We need more video time of you actually using your inventions lol. After 3 and a half minutes of building 20 seconds of you using it isn't enough!
It's probably because it doesn't work so well most of the time I'd say :p
@@lemovision Was thinking the same. I'd limit the video of the actual use if that was the case for me. Still neat.
