At the very least, the EPA cannot be allowed to control anything. They should be an advisory agency only. They answer to nobody.
Absolutely right! No questions, no arguments.
Putin is so proud of you.
It would be a useful organization if the right people were in it. If companies were unchecked from doing ecological damage that wouldn't be a good thing. But right now they are doing more damage than good it seems because they aren't just enforcing the laws on the books but are trying to expand and push an ideology outside of their purview granted to them by the current laws.

I would love to see this guy last in 20 below winters when heating costs are through the roof. You choose to wear sweatshirts around the house to save costs, which allows you to feed the family. We've seen the impact of Colstrip cutting their production. This isn't even talking about the economic impact of the community, as the town has shrunk as the plant is forced to limit the output and has laid off employees. Thank you, Ryan Zinke, for representing the great state of Montana.
I hate the unelected, VERY WELL PAID bureaucrats
There isn't ANYONE in Washington DC that is qualified to do ANYTHING 😮
All that is required is that you have a degree.

This reminds me of the EPA ban on floral carbon refrigerants to protect the ozone layer in the hole that was growing in it. All of a sudden this is not a problem. Now we’re changing refrigerants again because of potential global warming. The prices of air conditioning and heat pumps have increased dramatically with no improvement in efficiency, the EPA needs to be defunded
That is not a fair comparison. Globally, there was significant restrictions and reductions on ozone depleting substances, which included most refrigerants. As we moved away from this, yes, it is no longer a problem. Especially in the last couple of years, if I remember right, there was stats showing that the ozone had almost completely recovered to normal levels because of those changes.
@@mithicash1444 The first part which restricted R11 and r12 that food freezing plants dump millions of tons and they took it out. Aerosol may have had effect, removing it from refrigeration and air conditioning at almost no effect and the science on the ozone layer is bogus at best. It did result equipment, half long, throwing away the refrigerators at half the life also had a pollution factor. Defund the EPA
What a jerk he is.
Basically what he is saying is he doesn't care if it costs more for residents.
This is why Western states hate federal agencies they never actually listen to us
These bureaucrats that make these rules don't care the consequences.

My gawd, it's the Fani Willis of the EPA.
The lisp people care about fashion, not economics nor power systems. Just sayin
This ‘secretary’ is beyond argumentative and disingenuous.
The EPA did a great job fixing this country’s air and water pollution. Then, like all federal agencies, it outgrew itself, and will not go away. Now it is filled with a bunch people who have such self importance complex that they feel the need to propagate their existence through arbitrary rules.
Keep this in mind … CO2 is less than 1/2 of 1% of the atmosphere.
shhh don't tell the left that. It more funny to see them strugle to understand
And there used to be a whole lot more 1000s of years ago when there was a huge amount of vegetation on the planet.
0.04% is true. But it still has a greenhouse impact. The main issue is no one has any idea of the future and whether any of the insane green policies will have any impact, other than bankrupsy and fuel poverty
Federal government should be taken out of all state decisions.

Unbelievable! Stop this crap. Cut they're budget by 75%. This guy was put in his position only because of one thing.
I agree, but learn grammar: the correct word is: "their" not they're.
The EPA should be " Abolished " ! It's an agency that embarrasses me ! Along with most of all the other 3 letter agencies !
The state of Montana spends about $130M to $140M per year treating children for brain damage caused exclusively by mercury poisoning from coal plants... but hey, don't let my electric bill go up... priorities, amiright? Besides, if the brain damage is not too severe, the kids can always work in the coal mines... if they grow up. Win-win.
The sad part that many federal agencies get a worse rep than they deserve because they continue to promote politicians and carreer administrators. People with very little practicle knowledge. Then those same people go out and speak on topics they do not understand.
Some say the EPA moved too fast to remove lead in paint and gasoline... Some demonstrate that the EPA didn't move fast enough.
The EPA spent $92 million tax payer dollars on refurbishing their offices.
@@dandyandy642 I was curious, so I fact checked you. Sorta correct. $92.4M over 10 years and spread across 10 regional office buildings. In several cases, the office space was originally rented, along with furnishings. They were required to buy new buildings and completely furnish them. There were new computer systems, as well. Part of the problem is really a complete government problem. They are required to use specific contractors and purchase specific furnishings, which are "designed" to exploit government funding. Most of the requirements were established in the Dubya era. Remember $700 hammers? The problem has not been fixed. Where's Rand (the hammer) Paul when you need him?

The madness is global. Even in China, where their industry is given a free hand, the consumer is still bombarded with this climate change nonsense.
Don't follow there regulations! The government doesnt follow laws so why should we!
Exactly. Same with taxes. They want to track every nickle and dime we make but then turn around and send our hard earned money to foreign countries without even implementing any sort of tracking system. I mean God's sake not only are we funding the war in Ukraine but we are also giving money to their government employees.. it's truly sickening
If they comply with the LAW the EPA should be required to ask congress if they want to go stricter
That is not currently possible because there is no mechanism for this "ask" process.
The cost will increase the cost to the consumers
The electrician I apprenticed for said the engineer that nearly got us electrocuted at a dcr public pool was a dei hire. He also said I earned the rigt to tell that story for the rest of my life after surviving it. If I didn't live with the health complications I wish I could move on with my life.

What the hell are they doing just sitting around collecting a paycheck DEI failure
I think he dated Fani Willis too... 🥴
Rep. Zinke should have also asked how are the blades on defunct wind turbines disposed of ? There are only a couple of facilities that grind these blades requiring vary expensive transportation, impacting the "green foot print" of wind turbines.
He just means they plan on all the other prices going up to catch the horrific increase it'll have on Montana. Once you get rid of the 'highest emitter', the next guy will be the 'highest emitter'. SOMEONE has to be the highest emitter.
"Shucking and jiveing" comes to mind.
Where are the new nuclear power plants? (The most effective clean energy)

Just showing up for a paycheck.😡
He should have simply said we won’t comply and we will tie the epa up in court for the next 40 years, so how do you want to play this?
If the budget is supposed to originate in the House, why do they continue to fund these agencies that continue to over reach their authority.
my friend ...., the practice of Zen has brought the first level of enlightenment ....
I’ve seen KZhead comments more productive than this.
When I was in the Navy stationed at NAS North Island we used to go down to watch part of the Seal Hell Week events that the public / military could view….Back then Lt Zinke (or robo-seal) was just ruthless weeding out the weak…..There is no doubt that now that he’s a US Representative he’s still weeding out the weak.
Show me where the government is correct with their numbers and expectations.
i love this shit
Why these secretaries always act like they aren't being recorded, and rewind isn't available?
Again, actually real debate so refreshing.
DEI in full display.
Government cost estimates have consistently proven to be horrendously flawed. When they say it’s projected to cost five billion and it turns out to be a hundred and twenty billion and still climbing it makes me doubt their capabilities.
Let's hope children don't freeze to death in Montana.
Is it just me who finds the lady in the background texting on her phone pretty disrespectful?
Playing rage shadow legends .
I love how they'll argue endlessly over regulating toxins because it costs money, and then make them mandatory in vaccines, and other toxins effectively inescapable in the water/food supply
Very interesting
Competitiveness is not one of the concerns of the federal government. No matter what he says they don't care about how much the rules cost the affected people or companies. Apparently the administrator doesn't understand the difference between different supplies of coal or other fuels.
Cost savings plan - 1. Eliminate EPA. 2. Reduce IRS and use flat tax. 3. Eliminate Affirmative Action and DEI.
Congressman Zinke started his hearing with question of pollution by China to the US EPA guy, obviously wrong guy.😅
The best thing Representative Zinke said was at 6:00. "DC doesnt listen to outside the beltway". That is exactly right and that is why this country was founded so orders didnt come from thousands of miles away but that in this case the States could regulate themselves. This is a problem of DC ignoring local needs and conditions instead making one size fits all laws.
Zinke is one of my paat Commanding Officers, and he's tough. When he asks anything, you better have your act together. He's not going to stand for anyone hurting his constituents in any way.
He has never been there, never checked out if the math is actually feasible. Just like that meme with the woman in the OSHA hat telling the machine worker "I don't know how to do your job but my folder says you are doing it wrong"

No wonder nothing ever gets done in Washington….
The sound is distorted. Isn’t there someone who should be monitoring the sound who can set the levels correctly?
Yes my left ear will thank such a person
The REALITY IS, talking NEEDS TO END! You ARE NEVER going to get through to these dolts.
There's always a "highest emitter." It just means once coal strip is "fixed," they have another target.
Abolish the EPA
rules for "THEE" .... NOT FOR THEE !... E.P.A is a joke !
I had to look up Colstrip MT. It's a town of 2100 people in a remote area in MT. If you're so concerned about children, why not be concerned for everyone and bus employees in everyday and get the population away from the area. I've never been to MT but I have been out West, there's more open land than the mind can comprehend. The Federal and State tax for me is about 50% of my earnings, I'm all tapped out!
The EPA is ANOTHER AGENCY THAT WE THE PEOPLE CAN DO WITH OUT ‼️🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸
I wish the one guy would let the EPA guy at least finish a sentence before he goes on and on saying the same thing over and over. I thing Green Energy is BS and a money grab, but at least let the EPA guy say a sentence or two before you go on and on. He asked if there was a plan to get rid of used solar panels, then before the other guy could answer he went on and on about something else. WTF??
