Well it’s like saying “I’m accelerating from 0-100 in 10 seconds and then when I get to 100 mph I won’t DECELERATE but I will LESSEN THE ACCELERATION to go from 100mph-150mph in the following 10 seconds, like… prices on basic necessities rarely if ever comes back down, and she’s not even saying that the prices will go down, she’s saying the rate of increase in prices will decline, like whattt?! Why is paying more for less good for anything?! Especially when current income for most people doesn’t keep up! Oh wait? It is good for one thing… asset prices

Well, socialism and communism requires printing lots of valueless money, and using force to stop people from choosing where to spend their money and what on, where to invest, and where to work. Also, literally stopping people from growing too much food on their farms, because that might actually make a profit and reduce costs, whilst increasing demands, which would be a disaster for other farms still complying with the centrally set production rates being unable to supply the new demand or compete with the lower costs elsewhere. True socialism and communism is really vomit inducing, and requires massive use of threats of force and force itself. It's the symptom of an indulgent society that has teachers who have never had a real job in their lives, preaching whatever BS is popular in academic circles to vulnerable and impressionable youngsters.

It is not supply shots, quit blaming COVID. Here is a simple example; a box of pasta 3 years ago was $1.00, today the same box of pasta is $1.67. Over all grocery prices have increased at the same rate. My wages have not increased at the same rate.

That’s not how it works. Inflation going down is just saying things increasing at a slower rate. A 2% inflation rate means things go up by 2%. You talking about deflation, when prices go down.

Yes that is correct. But to say that the inflation was transitory due to supply shocks, was to imply that when supply chain issues were fixed, the prices would return. That has not happened, because the inflation was indeed not transitory.
@@aaronvoss38 Again, that’s not inflation you’re describing, that’s deflation. By saying inflation is transitory, it just means that we wouldn’t have the roller coaster of inflation (cycle). So once the supply chain was fixed, inflation should drop back down to the 2% fed’s goal. Prices would still be at the elevated, because they didn’t deflate.

There is no single reason why inflation is higher but shutting down construction on the keystone pipeline, stopping oil drilling on federal land, sending stimulus checks to everyone, and shipping billions of dollars to aid foreign wars all made it considerably worse.

Saying "Inflation has come down" is an idiotic counter defense. Inflation is almost always permanent and lasting. Whether it "comes down from where it was" or not is almost always irrelevant. The damage is done and not undone when inflation comes down.

Ex. Last month I gained 7 lbs of body fat. This month I only gained 5 lbs of body fat. Therefore my inflation went down by 2%.

Terrible. A lot of price gouging going on also by large enterprises who are posting record profits.
If the dollars are worth %20 less, they get %20 more of them for the same item. The "record profits" babbling would make sense only if their dollars still retained the value they originally had. All of the costs went up by the same amount. Whether the bakery gets one dollar or five dollars, the value is still just one loaf of bread. Those doing the baking, the ovens themselves, the electricity, and packaging or transport of the bread are all 5 times higher at the same time. The "profits" are higher numerically but still the same percentage.
