  • Read up on fitness, and muscular 'Hypertrophy". The 'Recovery Cycle' is critical. Also see what you find on beginning running, it takes time and a method to do it right

  • When starting out, it is important not to do too much at once but also not to let 'stiffness or soreness' stop you in the first few days I recommend a beginners book on running. But in between days working the body must come "Recovery", the recovery cycle is where and when increase happens. Eat well, and REST well. The body will grow and adapt ~As a general rule, a workout should be one hour long. You then have 20 minutes to gain carbohydrates, and 40 minutes to get protein

  • Hi, Denys, please, don't do too much. You went out of shape in one year and should be better return in shape in one year. Rest for one day. And then go slow. And, yes, these kind of video are very interesting and motivating.

  • Good you two are walking together. Fyi that one thing helped keep my parents here longer! I walk daily too keeps me grounded. Some days are better than others & when the bad day occurs get back to where you want to be. One day at a time. You two are healthy the weight will come off in time. So proud of you two. Shattered my knee into 4 pieces when light didn't come on in garage or use it or you loose it! You both Rock!

  • This reminds me I should probably work on my cardio before I go back to hockey. As you may know I had to take a break from hockey because I had to go to trade school (government funded so a lot of rules) and thus had to take a break from hockey but I’m graduating in 5 days and will hopefully be able to get back to hockey! I love wherever you are! It’s so beautiful. Reminds me of the cascade mountains where I live. If you ever end up in the Pacific Northwest you should definitely check out the cascades and the Olympics. Hello to the wife! Give her lots of hugs and kisses. (I’m sorry my touch starvation is getting ahold of me 😢)

  • Think you have started off too quick in your ambition to get fitter. Build up with local walks adding too the distance and the speed over the ground, then carry a bag to get the back used to the extra weight. On your drive to your hill, I could see smaller hills, try routes here adding to the height & distance. Then in spring longer day light hours head to the hills with better hill fitness. Keep going you have the motivation and the support of many.

  • Denys, you will need to work up to your desired level of exercise gradually. It doesn’t happen over a few days. Same thing with diet: balanced quality nutrition along with reasonable portion control, otherwise you have to work harder to burn calories off if you gorge yourself. Good luck with your quest to be more healthy!

Anyway don't worry, I won't tell the name unless you say it yourself but if you need to stay discreet, be more careful. Glad to see that making these videos help and makes you happy.Take care my friend

  • Hello again, Denys:)! It's great that you have such natural beauty to help you with your goals or improved health, AND, it's great that your wie was willing to join you:)! That's awesome, as you are fond of saying:). With respect to the pain, yes, that is not surprising at all that now you can barely walk. I won't go into the details of the biology of the sort of pain you are feeling and why, but let's just say that there is a chemical that your muscles produce that cause this pain, and if your muscles are not used to the exercise, then they wont be able to deal well with the chemical that is produced and you will feel pain. Also, regarding you becoming sick recently, I have no specifics as to why you might have become sick now, but I will mention that anytime you go to a public gym, some care is wise to take with the equipment If people do not wash their hands or wipe o the equipment regularly with some sort of sanitizing liquid, then you can pick up germs from the equipment:(. So, please, be sure to wash your hands often when working out in a public gym:)! Now, I will enjoy watching whatever videos you produce because I want to help in any way I can, and because i lie you and your videos:)! I consider you a friend, especially after watching so many of your videos, and if I can help by simply watching them and pressing the "Like" button, then I am happy to do so:)! I wish you a speedy and complete recovery from your current illness and you and your family a safe and enjoyable week coming up:)! Lee

  • we all should get off the screens a little more. being outside is a cure alone. a good way to start off is swimming. muscles are held warmer and there is a relaxing phase in between. good for the back. on the other hand, anything indoor might get boring.

  • Glad to see all the good advice in the comments! I think some easier shorter walks would produce quicker progress, building up the difficulty as you get fitter. Swimming is another good idea for variety. Great that your wife is supporting your efforts! I really admire your determination, but don't overdo things at the beginning! 🛩💙💛🛩

  • You walked a LOT for day #2, too much,... but your motivation is awesome. It is very interesting! You will have your club of people here supporting you❤ In 2012, I got to hike in the Kleine Scheidegg Pass, while on a travel vacation. I took a flight from the US and then eventually, a yellow train to get to Kleine Scheidegg from Lauterbrunnen, where my hotel was. The hiking was so beautiful! But, the next day, when everyone else traveled to visit the Ice Palace at Jungfraujoch, I was too sore to go! I knew that I couldnt keep up because of the hiking the day before. Hiking is fun but a challenging hike can really cause some pain the next day (and even worse 2 days afterwards!) all you can do it limp around. 😢 I learned a hard lesson! Anyway, I am enjoying your workouts, plus they are educational. The motorcycle travels would also be fun to watch!

  • Are you continuing to stretch your legs at home after the exercise? It's just 5 seconds of light stretch for each muscle. Should only be 45 seconds to a minute, total. Once per hour or 30 minutes. Just keep loose.
