Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Necessities were the mothers of different types of inventions.😉
Loved Building these when I was in SW ACB-1 Coronado 1990-1995
My Late Father was a "Seabee" in North Africa and The Italian Campaign.
NMCB - 5 Port Hueneme CA 1988 - 1991. In the house
Dogone it. I wish I'd seen this way back when. I was at Oki (Shields) and at Nomad (Gulf War). I didn't know this then and, well, it makes me proud. Hoorah!
Trying to share Seabee history on Facebook but video won't be able to share?
When you cannot use a foreign harbour, do it the Allied way and take your own.
A real Engineering Feat...
God Bless our military
I see some British a bit jealous over the SEABEES. Let's set the record straight. Winston Churchill dreamed up the mulberry Bridges in his bath. Constructed in GB. We're all on the same team. GB also came up with the funnies floating Sherman tanks, etc. Your contributions to the Normandy landings would not be possible without our British cousins. Winston Churchill requested the SEABEES to build the mulberry himself. Team effort is both very important. Cheers to us both. This is from a SEABEE.
Churchill requested the SEABEES himself. True story.
Churchill requested yes but most if not all were built in British yards by Brits. What was built by Seabees was concrete floating bailey bridges connected with mulberry harbours. just the facts. But then why allow the truth to get into the way of a good propaganda lie? Hollywood both civian and the militarybtranch loved utter bullshite to keep the American public happy.
French soldiers made up a third of those rescued from Dunkirqs beaches
they had f all to do with the mullberries
Oh yeah? Tell us more...
this appears to be bollocks
