  • Hello Carol, Thank you for continuing to share your journey, it is so important and helpful for those going through this and those of us that wish to be understanding and supportive. I'm sorry some people in this world are simply misguided and hateful. Sending you, your wife, family, friends, and anyone else on this path send love, strength, and courage. ♥

  • You are discussing positive coping mechanisms . I work in the addiction field and I tell my clients all the time to make a plan. Bc we make faulty decisions when we are in flight or fight but if we have a plan we can avoid this and replace it with better options.

    • These are skills very few people have. Are there any easily accessible, truly helpful resources (via books avail in libraries ) you could point to?

  • I’m so glad you have a support system!! I can’t believe people are still judging someone based on sexular orientation in 2022!

  • Very wise of you to develop a plan for what your response would be if you faced a certain situation at work! That’s being proactive in your self care and you’ve given me something to think ab.

  • Hope you keep writing and maybe one day will be able to publish a book with resources for those going thru similar situations who may not have any support systems. Thank you for doing what you are doing.

  • I don’t know if this will help but I have an employee who is strong but very sensitive. She has a hard exterior and a super soft heart. So when she is short with someone, I ask how she’s doing? How she’s feeling. And usually it’s something that has nothing to do with work and we talk about it and everything is fine and we go forward. Perception isn’t always the reality but I’ve learned to ask before reacting and it has saved me from making incorrect assumptions. And I give everyone extra grace. We have all been through a lot the past few years and deserve some kindness.

  • To be honest, until recently taking this journey with some of you detransitioners and watching Blaire White, I had no idea all this was going on. I'm a 64 y/o Conservative straight woman with a 59 y/o gay brother who has been out since he was 13. I became great friends with all his friends as we got older. All I was aware of was the fight for LGB couples to have the same rights as straight married couples (besides the unfortunate shaming that went on and apparently still goes on - not to make light of that at all). I haven't really brought up the added letters to the alphabet (TQ2A++) to him because I honestly didn't think I cared. Well, I do care now and I'm glad there are strong people like you willing to put yourself out there for others.

  • Hey, I know some people might react to your detrans side effects with cruelty but they tend to back off when it's a medical issue so you could stretch the truth with a white lie for self protection. Sometimes an explanation puts people at ease and also gives them perspective and empathy about common issues. Most women experience hair loss as they age: 40% by middle age. If necessary, you could tell people you have Alopecia (I've had friends with alopecia and telling people improved everything). A friend also grew facial hair from PCOS and knowing her condition ended the judgement. People are simple and they might feel confused or threatened by your unusual appearance as a woman which leads to prejudice, cruelty and problems for you. Maybe you think it's dishonest but I wouldn't hesitate to stretch the truth to protect myself from social trauma. Also, technically you did experience the male version of Alopecia and women with PCOS have higher androgens so it's really just stretching the truth to give a female explanation instead of outing yourself as detrans which is way too private. Just my two cents.

  • hi, regular older woman here!.it seems like detransitioning, advocacy, and sexual preference is a huge part of your attention..my life is filled with my career, my home, my plants, netflix, books, pets, cooking, family friends and just enjoying life..can i suggest not focusing so much on detransition advocacy and just live your life. go to work, go to the health club, go to events, the mall..trust me the rest of society is really not thinking about you!..get off of this crusade and get on with your life. you are so smart and charismatic , dont alienate people from your life by being difficult to be around

    • @epd0126 Something to keep in mind for the future, is that claiming you're a 'regular' woman is overselling yourself. You do not speak for regular women, whatever that even means to you. I mean you haven't even grasped the concept of youtube, so maybe just try to use your listening ears more often instead of shilling out your unnecessary, passive aggressive "advice."
