We challenged three of the world's best big air kite surfers to jump over a giant boat. To do so they have to be able to jump the length of a football field, kiteboard faster than 45mph and find the perfect wave to launch from 🌊

KB is not for most people. Its like surfing while controlling a sale boat with rocket boosters. I will say the advent of the 5th line decades ago made learning a lot easier. I learned when their was only 4 lines.
@@MichaelMantion there’s definitely a big learning curve. Took me awhile to be totally confident in it. But the feeling of going upwind on glass water and no noise is priceless.

@@snuff-_- He didn’t clear the gap. And I’m guessing he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
@@snuff-_-he landed on a rock from a big height and both of his ankles were broken. He wasn't able to walk for 8-9 months but in 1 year he started kiting slowly again. Let's hope he'll be able to compete again!

When they said they were going to jump the length first and then across I was like "why would jumping across be more difficult" cuz it seemed like they were going to jump OVER the length of the boat not just the distance that was the boats length lol

I went to School with a Professional Kiteboarder Named Adam Withington. Such a nice guy. But I have always wanted to try kiteboarding ever since I saw someone jump a pier on one years ago. Too bad I live in oklahoma.

You can make it happen cheap if you're patient enough to collect used gear. You definitely need lessons though. My roommate was an instructor so I got super lucky.

@@devilsadvocate1338 I seriously thought that too. It was totally inaccessible to me. My good friend loved kiting and I was stoked for him but I knew I'd never afford it. Then I had a new roommate move in who used to be an instructor. And another friends boss gave my friend an amazing deal on his equipment because the guy wanted to stick to windsurfing, so my friend and I split the cost, 350 each for two kites, bar, pump, and a board. My new roommate gave us lessons, and just like that it was happening. Hands down the most fun thing I've ever done. Its changed my life. From meeting cool people, to wanting to be in better shape. There is really cheap old gear that will work. Most kiters have money so they just buy new gear, and the used market is huge and lots of cheap stuff if you look around.
