Super Soft & Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
The softest cinnamon rolls I ever made! Before they used to turn out so dry and crummy, but now I don't use any other recipe than this one!

2½ cups all purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup whole milk
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
¼ cup water
FILLING
¼ cup butter soft
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
pinch salt
CREAM CHEESE GLAZE
4 ounces cream cheese room temperature
2 tablespoons butter room temperature
¾ - 1 cup confectioner's sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
INSTRUCTIONS
For the dough, combine in a large bowl the flour, sugar, instant yeast and salt. Heat milk in a small pot over the stove or in the microwave until quite warm. Add butter and stir until melted. Add vegetable oil and vanilla.
Cool milk mixture to lukewarm if necessary. You should barely be able to feel it when you stick your finger in it. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add milk mixture. Add egg and water. Mix by hand or using stand mixer until the mixture forms a very soft, sticky dough. Knead 6-8 minutes using the dough hook attachment or by hand. Add 2-3 tablespoons of flour if the dough looks too much like a thick batter, but it should still be very sticky. If the dough is very dry and easy to handle, add more water to make it sticky. Knead until it feels very smooth. Cover well with plastic wrap and proof for 1½ - 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
While dough is rising, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for the filling. Once the dough has proofed, roll out into a rectangle that measures 15x10 inches. Use a small amount of flour on your work surface to prevent sticking. Spread the soft butter over entire surface of the dough, then sprinkle on the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Starting from long edge closest to you, roll dough as tightly as you can. When you reach the end, pinch the seam very well to seal.
Using a sharp knife or a piece of string, cut the roll into 8-12 buns. Arrange evenly in a buttered parchment lined 14 x 8 inch pan and cover with plastic. Allow to rise in a warm place for another 45-60 minutes or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 375F/190C. Bake rolls for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked in the middles. Set aside to cool while making the frosting.
For frosting, cream together cream cheese and butter until smooth. You can do this by hand or with an electric mixer. Slowly add the powdered sugar, a couple of tablespoons at a time, creaming well after each addition. Add vanilla and beat until smooth.
Frost cinnamon rolls while they are still slightly warm but not too hot. The frosting should not melt. Serve immediately or keep well wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Oh my goodness!!! Ok so I lost my original Christmas morning cinnamon roll recipe...nothing was even close! Neither was this one, it was sooooo much better! Thank you for sharing with us! My grandchildren will wake up to awesome cinnamon rolls in the morning as they were just delivered to their home in an air tight container moments after they were frosted and cooled! Of course I did the squish in the palm thing you did at the start of the video and it works!! It bounces right back....and the flavor was amazing! I tried it it was absolutely delicious! no unneeded, extra, fancy ingredients. turned out so fluffy and light, not bread like and tough at all. I had to split it up into two baking dishes cause I made 12 and I ended up overcrowding one pan WAY too much. Its still really good but it didn't cook all the way, its a little gooey on the bottom. If anyone makes this recipe take his advice and give them a little space. Thanks for the recipe!
I made these and as soon as I took a bite I was super impressed. These are the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever had. They are better than my grandmas cinnamon rolls. Everyone that has eaten these has said I can make these again because they are the best they have ever eaten. I have made several different cinnamon rolls from youtube videos. I didn't have instant yeast so I used the same amount of active dry yeast. I just mixed it in with a little of the warm milk and let it sit for 10 minutes to activate then I mixed it in with the rest of the wet ingredients. I did have to add a little extra water to get the wet sticky dough but they turned out great! Definitely the fluffiest cinnamon rolls I have ever had. I think next time I would like to do something to have more substantial filling. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
You did all the right things! For a fuller filling try adding nuts, raisins or apple pieces before rolling it up :)

I just used some of the warm milk. I think the milk had enough sugar to get it going.
@@Lulu-mj2fi i also didnt have instant yeast so i just divided the amount of milk needed (which is 120 ml) into two 60 ml separate things, one which i just heated up in the microwave until lukewarm then i added the amount of active dry yeast needed and i let it sit for 10 mins until the yeast bloomed and the other one that i used to melt the butter vegetable oil and vanilla extract in then i just mixed it all together in stand mixer and the dough was unbelievably soft

I made them recently and they turned out DELICIOUS and all of my family members ate two rolls in a row!! This never happened to me. I tried out so many cinnamon rolls recipes in the past and they would always turn stale, hard, cakey and just not good to eat. But this recipe??? Oh my god, it is amazing. I even let the dough rest overnight and I think this was a gamechanger. Even after a couple days, when microwaving the already baked rolls, they were still soo good and fluffy and light. This was my first attempt making Cinnamon rolls from scratch. I used 1/2 a cup of confectioners sugar. Added roasted walnuts and raisins. I debated on making more powdered sugar in the vita-mix but liked the lightly sweetened frosting. I used a thermometer to get the core at 190* to not overtake them. It was a Homerun with everyone and I made sure my ‘Ohana all had it fresh. 😊 Fantastic video and enjoyed your tips that help me get the dough right. Dude I got to tell you, (hope you don't mind me calling you dude). I made these buns today and OMG I wish I could send a picture. My dough more than doubled and had so many bubbles I was almost afraid they wouldn't come out right. Boy was I wrong. For some reason when I follow these recipes my dough doesn't come out looking like yours, but I did just as you said and had to add more water, maybe about 1/4 cup more water until it reached the sticky consistency that it needed to be. I also kneaded it for the full 10 minutes. Since I had my oven pre-heating already I just sat my bowl covered air-tight with the plastic wrap right on the stovetop. I was very pleasantly surprised with the results. I also used golden raisins and pecans in my filling. There is only two people eating them so I put some in the freezer for another day. I'm sure I will use this recipe many times in the future. The results are well worth the effort. I also skipped the cream cheese in the icing, as I prefer just the sugar, butter and milk with a tiny bit of vanilla flavor. YUMMY, Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up!

Dear miss Lorie I live in Eastern Ky and we have had devastating floods children and adults have lost their lives. Now I hear on the news that Arkansas is expecting severe I pray that God watches over you and yours. He sure kept us safe thru all this devastation and even tho our electric and water was off for a few days we still have our lives and I am so thankful for that. I've never had a good cinnamon roll, they've always been dry when I get them at bakeries and cafes. They look amazing, but never fail to disappoint in the taste department. So, I'd just buy the processed ones at corner stores. Lol!! But, these look delicious and really chewy! I'm excited to try out this recipe with maybe some green apple mixed into the filling, just because those were my favorite from the store, but they were discontinued years ago.
If they're not enclosed in the bakery, they will get stale. I think it's abominable how that has become so common.

Made these tonight and they're amazing! The visual cues in the video for the dough consistency were really helpful. My initial mix was much too dry and I added maybe 3 tbsp of water until it was a nice sticky mess. I had to knead for closer to 12mins but everything else turned out exactly like you show. I just ate one (which has barely had enough time to cool). They're very soft and pillowy. Easy to make, and no special equipment required.

I baked these rolls two days ago, they were soft and fluffy, I added a sprinkle of pecans over the brown sugar I also made a dry mixture of butter, brown sugar and dry oatmeal for the topping ;my son said they were the best rolls I have ever baked, and I have to agree with him. I made this last night and instead of the classic cinnamon rolls, I made strawberries rolls. I am giving this recipe 2 thumbs up and a 5 star review. They where not only huge, but the softest, fluffiest rolls I ever had the pleasure of making and taking a bite out of! I love cinnamon rolls, my only complaint is to me all those that I brought and recipes that I found and made, were always dry, thus if I wanted to eat them the day after.... forget it. I gave 2 rolls to my MIL and 2 rolls to my best friend and they both loved it. My fiance tried it in the morning when he got back from working 3rd shift, and he loved it too, stating it was still nice and soft. Most cinnamon rolls recipes I’ve tried were a little dry for my liking, even with some of the pumpkin cinnamon rolls recipes. I had to use your recipe to improvise a pumpkin spice cinnamon version❤ i really love how super fluffy and moist my rolls came out every time I go by your recipe 😊

These look perfect. Can't wait to make them! I always get sad when cinnamon buns end up dry and sad, so I'm gonna make these now with my stand mixer Update: TLDR: Not a great cinnamon bun recipe but made a lovely loaf of bread. Added cinnamon condensed milk and it fantastic. I have no idea what happened. I followed the recipe exactly, but for some reason, it was just too wet. I ended up adding a whole extra cup+ of flour before it came together at all. Then it became an absolute dense dry ball and i gave up trying to make rolls. I tried to let it rise but nothing really happened. I did bloom my yeast before I began. I basicallygave up at this point as other life variables made this whole day extra difficult. So yeah, no homemade cinnamon buns for me. My man came home with Pillsbury grands so I can get my cinnamon bun fix and this is now bread. A soft buttery loaf of bread. I added cinnamon to some sweetened condensed milk and used it as a glaze for a slice. It was excellent. The rest will be saved for breakfast and I'll make some French toast.

Just put them into the oven, I'll let y'all know how it turns out 😋 EDIT : THE FROSTING WAS SO GOOD! While the cinnamon roll itself was okay with the addition of some brown butter, please do not skip the frosting because it brings everything together. I'd rate 8/10, super yummy.

@@msljna as I was told recently by a youtuber called Mr Paul’s Pantry “baking is a science, cooking is an art”. There probably lies the crux of apportioning a rating to a recipe and end result...it’s subjective. I’m happy when something is nutritious and not burnt, anything that meets that criteria makes me satisfied, but some recipes or methods are better than others for end results, some better for processing time efficiency. I have made cinnamon buns in the past but absolutely nothing compares to these, i made them for my family at easter and they agreed. i added rasins & pecans, my maple cream cheese frosting (cream cheese, butter, maple syrup)... soo sooo tasty and fluffy. i had some 3 days later (kept refrigerated) and they still baked up soft and tasty! thank you soo much you are an absolutely wonderful chef!

This was my first time ever making cinnamon rolls from scratch and they turned out SOOOO good. I went easy on the icing though bc it was super rich!

You know everytime I make a recipe with dough and my dough is too sticky, I always think I must have done something wrong. I made these cinnamon rolls recently and they are absolutely amazing. Super soft and melt in your mouth. I use a flavourless floss instead of knife to cut the dough to minimize oozing.

Ok. Wow!! Im a a baker and Ive tried lots of cinimmon roll recipes, this is the best ive tried. The dough is a keeper. Its super soft. Today is day two and they are still very soft. Dough amd frosting are delicious. Only thing id change is add more filling , but thats pur family preference.

I made these exactly to recipe a few days ago. They were excellent, soft, tasty and lasted well. My personal preference is for an icing without cream cheese which also does not freeze too well as it remains sticky. Excellent buns though, something I will repeat. Thanks for the inspiring recipe.
Small point. The filling lists salt but the instructions omit it.

@@ilonailonaekres7186 Hi! I made some almond filling (ground roasted almonds, butter, sugar, a little bit of almond extract and salt), it turnes out sooo good! And blueberry-lemon filling which I usually use for cakes goes well too! I don't glaze my rolls so all the flavor and moisture has to come from filling. I'm going to try tart cherry cinnamon confit too, I think it's gonna be delicious!

I made these the other day, super soft and fluffy, with a great taste. watch the video in it he called for 1 teaspoon of vanilla to be added to the bread mixer - but it's not in the written recipe.
Yes, I just tried this recipe, I’m waiting for the dough to rise and watch the video again and see that it was mentioned in the video and not in the recipe. Oh well, I hope it doesn’t make that much difference
@@timwarzecha6415 I believe that does affect the taste I made one with the added vanilla and with not - the vanilla makes it taste sweeter
