How to Water Cut: Lose 15lbs in ONE week
This is the exact process I used on how to cut water weight for my lightweight class strongman competition. I lost just under 15lb in two day's, with a 3 day water loading process before, and then a day after to refeed and rehdyrate!

Thanks my guy. Your water cut video was the simplest out of them all on yt.
easiest and best explanation so far! Thanks man
I cut from 78.8 to 74.4 in a day and felt like absolute shit
*pulls out scissors, cuts water with scissors
😂
This video is old but very useful knowledge! Im wondering if you’d advise to use diuretics/ epson salt bathes in conjunction with wed/thurs cutting?
Thanks bro. I am trying to become under 202 lbs for boxing. If it works I will hit you up!
a very informative video thanks a lot i have a question do you do this without a supervisor or doctor?
Hey quick question! Can I use diuretics to speed up this process and if so from which day do I introduce them?
Your voice is great
Hey, I got a question, so my weigh in is 8pm on a Friday, what day should I start my weight cut? Would it be Sunday or Monday?
What qualifies as cutting it close on Thursday? Like how many pounds over would be considered calling it close?
What about weighing the same day as a comp?
Just need help that with sodium I start getting cramps and feel kinda dizzy
Might try this next week
Good for final weight loss challenge weigh in
How much weight would someone most likely lose on the first 3 days of the cut?
Thank you
Should I take an Epson salt bath the night before weigh-ins so suck out more water weight?
me watching this on thursday starving my ass off trying not to OD on diuretics.
Need to cut 10lbs in 2 days how do I do it
I need to cut from 195lbs to 170lbs. I want to drop 2 weight classes for wrestling
did the video work?
huntersman 0765 yes and no. I dropped down to 176 but because I ended up gaining all the weight back and then just went to a regular healthy diet
@@kevinfuentes2577 I feel this. Gotta try to drop 7 pounds real quick for Super 32🤣
@@danielshoaf1637 how’d it go?
@@bosef9727 worked like a charm. Trust it
What if my weigh in is on the same day, how does that change the protocol? Weigh ins are at 1pm on Saturday, fight night starts at 7pm on Saturday. Will be fighting at ~10:00pm
Any suggestions if the weigh ins are Friday at 6 pn?
Do you still work out thru the water loading days
I need to cut down to about 180 in 4 weeks. Ima try this
Boi 😂😂😂
Man I wish my upcoming meet was 24 hr weigh ins in stead of 1 hr☹
No idea if you’ll see this. But during your process how did your weight look through the week roughly. Sunday through Tuesday I assume you were gaining weight because of the water loading. And then Wednesday, you notice a few pounds off (3-4?) and then Thursday you pee and sweat off the rest? It’s 5 pm on Wednesday where I’m writing this. And hoping I’ll still be able to get the next 10 pounds off (got 5 off already), the rest of today and into Thursday. Am i on the right track or is there something more I should be doing regarding sweating. Weigh-in is Friday at noon.
Most of my weightloss occurred thursday and Friday which does make this process a bit nerve racking. The weight should come off for you more and more with water loading done and carbs and salts gone, you might need to hit some extra sweat sessions to force off the last bit of weight but that will be it! Monitor it and if you aren't losing as much as you need keep getting the sweat sessions in!
@@MRMATT563 awesome. good to know. Thanks for the reply
will it work with one gallon?
A good way to understand how bad a hot bath can really be is to watch cris cyborg’s episode of weight cutting…. She literally cries
When cutting water out can you drink any other fluid such as milk?
😂 bro
😂😂🤣🤣
Did you weigh a lot more than your original weight during the water loading? I just started and I feel like I’m weighing way too much, it’s making me a bit nervous. A lot can I do cardio and weight lifting during the process?
Yes gaining during the loading is actually normal due to the sheer volume of liquid you are consuming. You won't begin to notice any weightloss until sometime on Wed so there is a bit of "trust the process" in play here. And yes I've trained during this (granted its always before a comp so usually deloading i.e. very light lifting/just going through the motions)
@@MRMATT563 awesome thank you! Appreciate the help!
Please if someone can tell me if its ok to weight lift during this whole process
It might not feel so hot towards the end but yes you can train without effecting the process...I'm usually deloading while doing this so I've done easy lifting Mon-Thurs it still will work!
Matt Molloy so what about the day with egg whites / almonds like how much of it should i eat in terms of calories . Lets say i ate some for lunch and dinner
@@lincolnpham9888 Nearly impossible for me to give you a calorie limit for it. The goal would be "as little intake as you need to make it through the day". I've seen people who where cutting it extremely close for their weigh ins and just didn't eat at all. And some people have more wiggle room and use the almonds and egg whites to keep themselves slightly satiated. Completely depends on the individuals situation.
What amount of salt and carbs you recommend for the first 3 days
Whatever "normal" has been for you up to the point that you are going into the water cut. Obviously wouldn't try hitting up any buffets but you don't have to manipulate anything for those days just your regular diet 👍
@@MRMATT563 well the thing for me is I don’t really know if my intake is small or large
Can you do cryotherapy during this?
Yes that won't conflict with the process!
@@MRMATT563 can u do the sauna for sweating protocol?
What about if eat healthy after the weight lose would I gain the weight back
Yes, You lose water weight. Not fat or muscle.
I'm on day 1 and really swollen. Is that normal?
Yes, water will fill your muscles
I weighn in 1 hour before competition... and now haha?
I have 18 lbs to lose in 6 weeks. How would you go about this?
i mean you could probably lose 10lbs in fat for the first 5 weeks and then it would be gone permantely. and then on fight week just water load and sweat the rest off. If you start today you have a lot of time to get there
@@muhammaddol1563 thank you very much. I've been doing a water load but this time I've just been eating right and exercising
i wanna do this for a pic
How many grams of carbs should i eat doing this
I’d say half of your normal intake throughout the first three days
is any fat lost ?
No this is all water manipulatuon this is not "real" weightloss. Solely for making weight for competitions.
Could you do this like every week?
You will die
I mean fluctuate your water weight every week? You'd be messing with your hormones so who knows how your body would respond if you're constantly loading and altering the intake
Weighed 178 Monday Morning… weighed 169 Saturday morning at weigh ins. Trust the process. If you need to squeeze out some more weight, sauna and hot tub will do the trick along side doing this water manipulation. This water manipulation will have you lose about 8-9 pounds without having to do anything less. Anything more then that will be dependent on just making yourself sweat!!
I walk around at 192 currently doing this and only lost 6lbs without sweating cutting it super close now meet day I’m 1kg over where I currently need to be.
How did you do?
@@jaxonnevermore1394 me? I made weight from 192 to 181.04. But I don’t believe the water cut worked as well as it should have I had to sweat out 90% of the weight in a sauna last minute
@ruffus4924 What'd your carbs and salt intake look like? I'm like 203 trying to make 182 from today the 28th to the 6thth. Im willing to sweat but wouldn't wanna land myself in that kind of hot seat.
Hey, Matt I'm currently weighing 190lbs , I want to cut my weight to 140lbs ... I'm not in mma, wrestling, athletic.... I just want weight cut my height is 170cm . How can I cut 50lbs in 4 weeks. Because conventional process is too long. I want to cut weight safely not want hazard.
Water cut is only for tricking a scale for a fight or to win a bet, however, don’t go overboard with this. You’re losing 0 fat in this process and the weight will be right back on in just a day after the water cut because as you rehydrate and eat carbs, that water is going to be back. A water cut makes you lose water from your blood, not fat from your body.
This is an extremely temporary method. If you want to get that weight off for good, there are no shortcuts.
this is only for athletes when they enter in a competition. they will gain all the weight back right after weigh ins(within 24 hours). DONT DO THIS JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO LOSE FAT! this is a WATER weight cut! you only lose WATER!!!!!!
I need to cut from 292 to 220
Me too
Instructions clear. Decided to load water for a week and cut out sodium and carbs completely. (Got water poisoned) About died (literally) And CHIRST saved my life, so I can now laugh about my ignorance. 💀
you probably followed the instructions but the guy forgot to mention not to drink more than 1 liter in an hour, spread it throughout the day.
Look like Shane Gillis in thumbnail
I wouldn’t recommend any cardio coming from a powerlifter, heavier guys that need to cut, sauna if you have to or just stick with water load. Cardio like that will mess you up for the next day typically.
*Hears the part about it not being permanent weight loss and sighs... heavily 😔 But watches anyway 👀
yeah anorexia is kicking my ass
Me too ngl
Can I keep the weight off after the cut?
probably not unless u keep a really low calorie deficit and excerise u would still gain back a couple of the pounds
NO, the only weight you lose is WATER. Do not be in a dehydrated state more than 24 hours or youll die!!
@@OldMarius-gn5kknot how that works try again
Hey man just one question so Im a fighter , and I have a boxing match at 67kg , im 74 right now ..can this be applied to combat sports as well??
Yes for sure
But dont cut more than 10% of your body weight with water cutting. I would recommend you to diet down to 71 kg and then do the water cut protocol. Sunday 4L Monday 6L Tuesday 8L Wednesday 8L. (No salt. Only protein and veggies) Thursday; fasting (eat some eggwhites no salt id needed - also depending on your weight at this time) Friday: don't eat or drink until weight in. And go to sauna if needed. But be careful and bring someone with you. Please note this is only if you have 24 hours between weight in and fight. If not, then diet down gik 68 and cut 1 kg in sauna. Trust me. Good luck
@@Zincilife thanks man , sorry i didnt see your reply in notifications ...it is REALLY helpful to me ..i have to weigh in on 9th march ..will start from tomorrow
@Male Masterrace ofc brotha. Been weighted 2 hours ago, and is refueling atm. Thursday and friday was terrible. Went to sauna for 1.5 hour today to cut the last 1.5kg. Thank God I had a sweat suit. Did 15 min in 10-15 out for 5-6 rounds. Good luck!
This video should take < 5 min…waste of time
