    • Yeah, doing favor never does. Just look at the USA, or life in general. Helping or rescuing another country usually ends nothing but resentment and anger, as no country wants to need help, they want to be the strong country that helps, and are looking for ways to criticize or belittle the donor nation. The US has done some pretty HUGE favors for both China and Russia…for China, the US was largely responsible for stopping Imperial Japan from enslaving more or all of China, and it was Western investment and factories that drove China’s large economic improvement in past decades. For Russia, the US helped when Hitler invaded the USSR and sent a large amount of equipment, and the US sent 100s of millions of food aid to poor Russians in the 90s. And what did that get? Both countries taking what they could, having no good feeling for the US, and mostly trying to rewrite history or just forget they ever needed help.

That means that the BRI countries absolutely need USDs in order to repay those loans, but now yuan as well. To get yuan, they need to trade with China. Yes, one could buy yuan on the open market with USD, but people with yuan actually want dollars. They want to get rid of their yuan. China needs USD to make payments for US asset purchases.

Yes, the CCP overplayed their hand and made some bad choices. But from what I've seen, most countries are still members and have not announced a planned departure. The newest info I found stated that as of March 2023, 153 countries were members. Since then, I've heard of Italy dropping out, and just this week, Argentina's newly elected president said he plans to drop out. I searched for a list of countries who have announced plans to drop out but found no such list. I f you can CITE A SOURCE that substantiates your claim, you need to do so.

The money doesn't leave China. the workers, the inputs, steel, cement, etc., is made in China, and the money is transferred to their accounts in China. They did not send 26 billion to Pakistan, for instance, they sent workers, and inputs. The production numbers for those inputs, steel, cement, etc, stay in China and fueled a sense of never ending growth.

  • there's a different problem with investing in africa, and its the severe level of corruption. My father was looking at getting hired for a security firm acting as security for a big hospital in... i think it was ghana, some years ago. The problem was last time the money was invested, the local government straight up took the money and never did anything. straight up pocketed it fro themselves. this was about a decade ago. so now the idea was that because no one could trust these governments to do it themselves, deals were made using outsourced skilled labour from other countries with an external company taking charge, and hiring locals as much as they reasonably could. now here's the other problem. the governments or some other power, are gaslighting the locals that these companies are simply just indebting the country and not providing enough jobs for them. but the problem is also the fact that these countries can be so corrupt that the projects are actually IMPOSSIBLE to complete without external company involvement. no MATTER how desperate africans are to build their countries, most of them will never get anywhere with how bad their politicians are running the country. its so fucking abysmal. I got to speak with 2 people who were project managers and them explaining the absolute headache it can be to make sure the project isnt a total fail is crazy. then theres the group of african racists that also will flat out refuse any foreign proposals and take china's. I garantee china is involved in fanning those flames. africa is an endless cycle.
