if you have the old usb-a chargers, theyll still work with these iphones. so usb-c isnt really necessary but i think just to include something in the box. Also they provided these to work with fast-chargers etc if you dont want ur old chargers.

Details have come out on it. Almost identical to iPhone 11 and in thinner package with 5G which is pretty decent. Seems like some pretty good efficiency gains from the new A14 chip to get the battery performance to stay about the same.

I'm feeling that regular iPhone 12 in blue. I love that they returned to the rectangular sides. I remember when those were around back in high school during the iPhone 4s and 5 days. It always looked better (and more rigid) with the square vs rounded edges.
I'm interested in trying the iPhone 12, like the 799$ one. I have been pushing back changing my phones, (current Phone is the Galaxy A5, that I've had for 3& a half years) and been waiting for the holiday sales for the iPhone 11 pro. I seriously don’t see the hype behind wireless charging. The wireless charger still needs to be plugged in and you can’t use the phone comfortably because the charger is stuck to the back.
Still way easier to “plug” it into the phone. I really appreciate just having to “drop” my phone in it at night when it’s dark rather then trynna stick the lighting thing in. Besides that, MagSafe makes sure that it does charge when it’s on. I’ve tried multiple times where I thought I’d put it on the wireless charger when it was just an inch away from where it actually charge. Really nice upgrade!

It's just a convenience thing. Not ideal in every situation. If you want to still hold it in your hand while you use it, you plug it in. If you just want to plop it on the dresser overnight and have it charge, that's when you might use the wireless charging. Especially since it wouldn't matter that it's a slow charge method in that situation. I wouldn't understand hype about it either, but I do see some appeal to it, from a convenience standpoint. Definitely not a deal breaker IMO.

The MagSafe thing is really cool for, as you mentioned, accessories. For years I've been wanting a phone mount for the car that magnetically attaches (this is already common, but requires a metal plate to be fastened to the phone) and simultaneously charges the phone wirelessly, with a cable going from the mount to the power source. Now it seems like something like that will be incredibly easy. As an Android user I'm disappointed that Apple thought of it first! But like all tech on both sides of the fence, what comes to one will eventually come to the other. Just glad to see the tech moving in that direction.

They know you dont have one, and want to milk more of your money for you to buy it separately. Next years phone will be just a phone in a box. No instruction booklet (get it online), no earpods or charger, and they'll also assume we all have the USB C charging brick as well. So if we want any of the additional cables and power bricks, we'll need to pay more for it. Hats off to Apple on figuring out how to rip off customers more and make excuses for it.

@@vp5429 iphone 7 user here looking to upgrade. Ngl I am kinda embarrassed now of owning an Apple product. It is like advertising my stupidity to the rest of the world. You keep your 2 brain cells, I love my couple trillion brain cells and logic that comes with it.
Definitely looking at the Max; I use my devices a lot, and so the longest battery life is always nice. However, in addition to the 2.5x zoom, and the image stabilization on the image sensor, the 12 Pro Max also has a 47% larger image sensor on the wide lens, which is the one that people will use most of the time. I believe Apple said that would result in an (estimated) 87% improvement in low light. I use the camera a lot, and those improvements on the Pro Max make it the best choice for me.

Hey Marques, I think this technology needs to be talked about to get this to the world faster. What if someone created a plug that transfers power wirelessly so that way when you are designing a living room or a space you don’t see wires but you see the space for what it is. Something like the wireless phone charger but like distanced. Probably not scientifically possible but just a suggestion. Future possible ideas for tech. Realistic Evolutions for Technology.

My argument with lack of Pro-Motion is OLED + Pro-Motion= Battery Life Issues. Their AoA had to chose one of the two. Either give all iPhones OLED, or make it really hard for people to justify the 12 over the iPhone 11.

I very much appreciate your even-handed approach! I currently have an iPhone Xs Max and the Note 20 Ultra. Both are great phones, and although I like the Samsung better, I believe that competition is necessary in order to drive progress.

Preorders already sold out, it baffles me. Well good for them I guess. I wanted to upgrade my note, but after seeing the price and the fact that it has a exynos. I am gonna hold my old one. Plus it still works fine and it's less bad for the environment.
I really do like the design. I always thought that iPhone 5se was one of the best designs and they made it look similar but with the edge to screen just made it look so good. For me I am most interested in the iPhone 12 mini, because of the smaller size and edge to edge display I feel would fit perfectly in the pocket and the hand. So yeah 12 mini for me.

Zach really complemented the iPhone 11 Pro’s rear frosted glass last year. He wasn’t able to scratch it with any of his everyday objects. So who knows, maybe the ceramic glass is a marked improvement.
With all the iPhones I’ve had in the past, I’ve always gone with the bigger ones whether it was the plus or the Max! Cant wait to upgrade my 10s Max to the 12 pro Max!

...actually, they INCREASED the price by (at least) $100 for the base iPhone 12. If you want an unlocked, T-Mobile or Sprint version, you'll need to shell out another $20 on top of that extra $100.
Razor Ultra Chargers are $10... if you’re going to buy an IPhone you should at least have a charge on you. I mean they only give you a 5W charger anyways 😐😐

The iPhone 5 was a tiny phone compared to the 12 Pro Max. The early models were very accurate, and people said that that one is uncomfortable because of the sharp sides.
This is the reason why i’m keeping my 11. I hate flat frames.
