It's 8RMG765, 2018 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang, VIN# 1FATP8UH1J5155190. Looks like it was last serviced on 10/02/23 at Fullerton Ford with 99k miles (and is apparently due for its next service there very soon). Apparently the registration is 2 months overdue (expired 2/22/24), last title update was in 2/22/23 where it says title was issued and loan/lien reported (aka probably bought it used in Feb 2023)

@@SlumberSource It's not listed as stolen... But that database probably isn't accurate to the day, it's possible it may have been stolen within the past couple of weeks though.

Normally, the standard procedure for this kind of seemingly insurance fraud is that they'll wait for you to tail gate them, then brake, so you hit them. They then escape, saying you ramed them, and they ran afraid for their life.

It looks like an intentional hit with a POS car. The intent was to make a big damage to the CT and you pay the bill. The idiot didn't know that all Tesla, including Cybertruck, have Sentry active during driving.

California unfortunately doesn't go after hit and runs anymore. They consider that misdeameanor and no jail time. If you call police they will tell you that youll have to go thru your insurance and claim thru insurance. CA has become no lawless MAD MAX. My mom was struck from behind while idling and LAPD said they can't do anything about it even with pics of plates and everything. So we had to go thru Statefarm and claim uninsured hit and run and since we have full coverage we got covered.

The Mustang doesn't look like it was more damaged after hitting the Cybertruck. It had the rubber from the tire on the door which could be cleaned off with the right cleaning solution. I would argue that point if there is an insurance scam that comes of this against the Tesla. Not sure how they would claim anything when the physical damage is nearly the same as before the impact.

it's gotta be definitely on purpose. IDK the actual term but some people have this weird fetish to desecrate/destroy nice clean, beautiful things. Sometimes, they key car paints, knife toilet seats or spray-paint walls, etc. Granted, some people do them out of jealousy or hate. But a doctor friend of mine once told me that some people with such fetish just can't resist themselves. Hope you got it sorted.

RMG is what I see. But unfortunately, Cali cop will not actively look for this guy even if they can and should. The best scenario is that guy get pulled over for other reason and he also get written up ticket for this accident in a sense that he will have a traffic court date. This is probably about it. This is why Cali is becoming unsafe day by day but officials let things go.

Help you??? You need to go file a police 👮 report and give those 2 license plate numbers to your insurance and they can go after them. When you police run those 2 plate number they’ll be able to tell you exactly who owns that car and who you can go sue.

The quality of these cameras is insane. My 23 m3 cameras look like a 2010 webcam.
100% intentional. Hopefully it never happens again, but next time I would suggest following the vehicle from a safe distance and immediately call highway patrol about the situation to see if they could intercept. Please post updates as it will be interesting to hear what comes of this.

Most of the 'ugly' on that white Mustang came from the front tyre sidewall impact. When l was 16, a Jag came out from a parking spot and l collided with it, leaving mostly bike tyre marks along the right side doors.

I remember when I had a BMW and a Corvette back in the days when BMW hate was at it's zenith, and how much abuse I used to get. People would literally try to run me off the road, flip me the bird, cut me off and often go insane. I even had one "Yuppy" gas station attendant refuse to pump gas into a BMW. However, when I drove the Corvette, it was totally opposite, people would wave give me the thumbs-up, and often service station attendants were overly friendly.
Interesting indeed. So far 90% has been positive interactions and 10% got thumbs down and flip off, but it’s been rare. Most has been more positive but this one seems to be that 10% and not so much accidental. Funny is that this truck is Made in American by Americans you would think it would get similar reactions like any American truck. It will be interesting once authority find this guy.

Did you call the police while you were driving? If not, you should have called and reported it and mentioned that you had a reckless driver, possibly drunk, and followed him from a safe distance and asked if police could come and find him on the highway because he is a threat to other drivers' safety.

Looks to be intentional or guy was on illegal drugs he was not phase by the hard impact. Didn’t want to chase him down and put others in danger. We looking for him and authority have taken report but no actions we are aware of.
yes its obvious that it was premeditated unfortunately cops don't file report for hit and run anymore or pursure the case unless you do citizen arrest type of stopping them. CA has become wasteland for criminals to do what they please and drive over since cashless bail is live and well. Criminals have equal rights now as law abiding and if they commit crime like HIT AND RUN, they are pardoned since they can't afford bail.

This is what I think. NHSTA is hyperfocused on auto pilot. And fsd. And they have not done one thing to rid the roads of people who drive like this. I think we need extreemely strict driving laws, an people who simply weave in an out of traffic should have their license suspended for 1 year. Even the recent one in oregon, the driver was arrested after admitting to looking down at his phone to text. Why isn't apple an google required to disable functionality while people are driving, tesla is, an does. Edit: The collision was willful as well, ie yes the mustang sideswiped you on purpose, imo.

It’s good that you are okay and this type of collision could have been much worse. Usually a chain reaction occurs and cars swerve and stop quickly or lose control. Kudos to you for keeping leveled headed and great defensive driving. As for the other lawless POS , most likely a stolen car and carrying a firearm. I myself would not have the self control that you showed and the outcome may have ended badly for me.

I don't think it was willful, he just seems to be a wreckless driver. The car was already beat up and he was weaving through traffic already. Likely he did it just from not even looking and didn't even care. As for stopping people like this, how? At best you can have people call the police while driving to report a wreckless driver as the ones doing speed traps can't even tell. There will always be wreckless drivers just like there seems to be a large portion of people who drive with their high beams on all the time. And phones do have a feature to turn them off while driving, at least on android. It's called drive mode. The thing is it can't be automatic unless hooking to a car because how can the phone tell if you're driving vs being a passenger? And one of the main things people do as a passenger anymore is use their phone. Honestly there should be more laws on touchscreens and generally unintuitive controls in cars anymore as they obviously distracting. I basically have to have my autopilot on to use the menus in my Toyota. It's really getting out of hand.

On passing in the slow lane, you are technically right. It's not a good maneuver. But too often I've had to pass on the right cause all the slow traffic is coasting in the left lane. You can see all the slow traffic just coasting in the left lane in your video as well.
I like this Cybertruck. This video shows very clearly that the stainless steel car is really well made for everyday use on the road. This truck is ready for war. I'm guessing that that Mustang driver, unaware of the camera coverage of your truck, was trying to side swipe you to hide the fact that his vehicle had been in previous collisions. With your video that car can easily be identified by your insurance company.

Fromt bumper might have to be replaced (internal clips). Doors might be able to be buffed. Otherwise, those need swapped, too.

God them US highways are a mess. UK has much better standards on this. Typically we have no more than 3-4 lanes and the last lane should most of the time be completely clear. You will be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention if you hang in this lane when there is space in the previous lanes.

Might be insurance scam to get us to rear end him if follow and he break check up. We have a police report. If you watch the whole video we went to the chp office since the hotline don’t take report unless we wait by side of road and wait for chp but at the time we pulled over no damages that prevent us from driving home. Will show in follow up video.
Was your Cybertruck operating under FSD being supervised by human at the time of the collision? If so, I'd think your Cybertruck should have automatically taken proper evasive actions to distance itself to avoid the collision. From personal observations, my 2024 MYP operating under FSD v12.3.4 (supervised) on I-75 has automatically increased the distance separating it from a semi truck that happened to move too close to us.
FSD not enabled saw him coming in so try to avoid it a second too late
@@megawatts Hope all will come out a ok with your unfortunate encounter on the 605 freeway.. unless I'm doing some hardcore driving with my MYP, her FSD (starting with v11.4.9 free-transferred from my bought-used-late-last-year 2023 M3P) has always been engaged as my co-pilot. I just wish all them FSD-haters out there will eventually realize that while FSD in its present form (hardware/software) doesn't make my MYP a fully autonomous car, its priceless computer/sensors/software collectively provides reaction time far superior to that of any human alive today to take proper collision-avoidance actions.
Why would you want a fsd car to take evasive action , as long as it's trained on the insurance fault determination rule book. You would want your car to take the hit if is going to be 100% not at fault and you got a clear shot of the other party's licence plate

It does have a digital mirror I saw him come up but didn’t think he would speed up and ram us. It’s a v4 eco boost per the pin comment too but he probably thought he had a GT Shelby to attempt to over take. But likely did it on purpose. The coupe that empire is very detail and we been very happy with them. Mention our channel to Davey or Natasha, and they will hook you up with a good price.

I would have followed him in a safe manner and report him right away. That Mustang looked very rough with all the panels misaligned. Looks like it’s someone that does this a lot. Possibly a stolen vehicle or stolen tags.
We didn’t want to there were too many vehicles around plus we though the side of the cybertruck was smashed up badly so wanted to follow a little bit and exit to check on damages and call chp.
Well from the looks of that mustang it's been through hell already. I've been driving 18 wheelers for 34 plus years now and every day is different. Trucking is not for everybody trust me. When I drove over the road I had cameras on my truck too and they will keep you out of trouble.

I don't think all the accidents are being reported they're not going to show you the one that happened in Missouri plowing in the back of a 93 RAM and a cyber truck got ate up all the way to the windshield and the Ram truck got a new tailgate and back bumper they're not going to show that because they don't want people to know when a cyber truck plows into a truck with a full frame it is not good cuz there is no length on the front head you're basically your front tires are even with your front bumper

Moment of anger can end a life. Must remember. That would've been extremely angering, especially as they fled, but following someone who clearly is a bit deranged isn't the best plan of action either. Just unnecessarily putting yourself in danger, especially already understanding how Sentry mode works and would've caught the footage regardless of the chase down.

8RMG765 is the plate number Filing the police report with this info shoulda been the first step. Then contacting yoir insurance with the plate info on hand so they can investigate. If it's a ghost car, you'd end up just submitting a comprehensive/collision claim or UIM/UM claim.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, It is obvious from the damage on the mustang prior to colliding with the Cyber truck that the guy is a terrible driver. It is very likely this isn't his first rodeo and sadly it won't be his last. People like that need to have their driving privileges revoked permanently.

@@megawattsI don't necessarily think it was intentional, but you never really know. If I had the judge based on the way the guy was driving and the existing damage to his car, I would think he is just a terrible driver that does this crap all the time because they have poor situational awareness. I knew people like this growing up and oftentimes they would flee from the scene because they knew they were at fault and did not want to get in trouble. Serial offenders typically flee not wanting to be held accountable while not taking into account that more likely than not they will be tracked down and held accountable for it.
