So this borrows from movie Battleships (an old battleship turned museum fights invading aliens) and Star trek (senior officer dies(from radiation) by sacrificing himself to save the crew) did I miss any ?
Nope. Pretty much on the mark. Battleship was a cool movie.

Ok,we are under attack. Where the f*ck is the com to the earth fleet? What is there ETA to this sector? Its like the movie battleship where they have to grab a ww2 vessel to fight the ailian ship with no help from the main fleet. At least write in that the main force cant get there until x time.

I liked this one. Better than most of them that are all exactly the same...right down to names. Some of the really bad ones even have main characters change sex. All of a sudden Commander Hawkins (there is ALWAYS a Hawkins) is a female when it was "yes sir for the first hour. So this is ok.

Hmm, the admiral sacrifices himself in the radioactive core to save the ship and crew. I was waiting for someone to say, "the needs of the many...". There is a total lack of imagination here...No thumbs up for you!!!
you know what made me confused is the fact that we only hear about the few members, none of them died save the admiral so why does it keep saying "the crews we lost?"
Story is like a old battleship being reactivated.

It's becoming an annoyance that 2 words in particular can't seem to be avoided in these stories. Diverse and inclusion. The addition of these words in current stories give them the taint of modern politics and break the suspension of disbelief and submersion in the story.
