Thank you for the schematic representation of the layers it helps me understand better how Damascus patterns are made 👍🏿
I’m glad the graphics are helpful. Thanks for watching!
Totally agree I think more people should do this 👍
@@TyrellKnifeworks what will it cost to make me a custom short sord? Please im very interested?
@@melvincoetzee4151 I just answered your email with the same response. Sorry but I’m not taking custom orders, particularly repeats of other blades I’ve done. This is just a hobby and I focus mostly on KZhead. I have a day job so don’t have the time to also take on custom orders.
@@TyrellKnifeworks bro you're blades are something else, especially the copper Damascus. Make money for yourself instead of someone else, and enjoy life in the process. You can easily make a very comfortable amount a month just from 2-3 copper damascus blades.
Ahhh Yes! This was epic. Huge congrats Tyrell, all looks stunning
Thanks for checking. it out Gader! I'm excited to see what eeryone brings to the next one!
you blow my mind with every build that you do, this is one impressive blade, good on you. you can count on my vote!
Definitely check out all the builds. Thanks for watching, Tony!
I've spent a lot of time on the blacksmithing part of KZhead and this unquestionably one of the most beautiful damascus patterns I have ever seen. Something about the sharp contrasts of black and white with this particular pattern really make this piece pop. Truly a work of art.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking a look.
The part that was damaged falls under the category “the artist is the only one that knows where the flaws are”. How long did it take to make this ? The work, attention to detail & symmetry is incredible!! Good luck w/the challenge!!
I lost count but around 60 hours in this build I think. Thanks for watching, Mark!
I hope you love this dagger build, it sure was fun doing it! VOTE here: forms.gle/sVqrERDBwdCi5L9E7
Hey, so I hear that you say quillion. I just wanted to point out that it's actually spelt and pronounced "Quillon." No 'ion' at the end. It _can_ be spelt that way, but it's less common. I've also heard a lot of other black smiths say quillion as well. I'm currently working on a book, and I used the word. It tried to auto correct it, and so, curious, I looked it up and was surprised to find that it was spelt quillon. And whether you say quillion, or quillon, it doesn't change the fact that that is an absolutely beautiful blade. Keep up the great work dude.
@@liquid24 yeah, I know it’s pronounced more like “key-own” dagger. It just sounds a bit pretentious like that. 😜. Kind of like how Americans pronounce foyer improperly but it becomes the norm. (Pronounced “fwhy-ay” not “foy-er”)
@@liquid24 It's just anglicised because the French accent sounds incredibly weird to pronounce to a non-French speaking person. I can speak more French than any other language bar English but I absolutely cannot do the accent without feeling like I'm making a complete muppet of myself.
No disrespect for any of the other builds or the smith's who made them, but in my opinion you out did every dagger by far not even in the same league.
@@Fambamm-ib6pw When I looked at the doc, I thought the same thing. Like, yeah, the rest of them were amazing and all, but Tyrell's was just _on_ _another_ _level_
Absolutely amazing!! Loved every second of seeing this beauty take shape! I am in awe of all the subtle details you put in. Very very impressive work! Rooting for you to win 🏆
Thanks Johannes! Be sure to checkout all the builds, they are all incredible!
What a blade and those silver inlays are looking pretty awesome! The exact ratio between too much and exactly right!Even with that little mistake at the end it’s a class A piece of art and craftsmanship! I’ve loved your work since the first click on one of your videos! Please keep on sharing your impressive work with us!🖖
Thanhs so much! I appreciate you watching. ❤️
Wow. First time watching this channel and I don't think I've seen this level of mastery of a skill on all of YT. Kudos, incredible piece of art.
Welcome to the channel, Dmitry! Thanks for watching!
I cannot put into words how incredibly beautiful and breathtaking this sword is. I have never seen such beauty in my entire life! Thank you! Just thank you! I'm crying because it's so unbelievable!
Thanks so much, Jonas! I appreciate you taking a look
The monochrome model showing the damascus detail is brilliant.
I’m happy the graphics are helpful. Thanks for watching!
Amazing build! That might be my new favorite of your builds. The dark theme just pops!
Yeah I’m a sucker for the dark blades myself. I call this one “NightShade”. 👍. Thanks for watching.
All my favorite channels made such amazing entries! You guys have made my job of choosing VERY difficult this time!
Lots of amazing builds this time for sure! 👍
Man I really enjoyed watching your build Denis! I love the contrast with the silver and the bluing salts! Excellent design, excellent Damascus, excellent execution bro!
Thanks, Airin! I appreciate that. You handle is 😍. 👍
That's an impressive blade. Love the graphics of how the patterns look while being forge welded.
Thanks for watching this build, Jason!
@@TyrellKnifeworks impressive, and amazing skills.
You are awesome for giving us a complete list of all your tools and supplies in the description. So helpful, thank you.
I’m glad it’s helpful! Thanks for watching!
Three hours ago! I can't believe I'm here to see the birth of a beautiful new dagger and not three years late! 😂. You've really outdone yourself this time, got me convinced.
Thanks for following along, Anthony! I appreciate it!
The absolute thought, planning, stacking and final pattern is what made this dagger a winner and won my vote!!!!!
Thanks so much, Jeffrey! I appreciate you watching and voting!
THANK YOU for posting those progress diagrams! It helps so much to get an insight into what each step achieves
I'm glad the graphics are helpful. Thanks for watching, Matt!
Haven't watched all the builds but seen all the pics and your work just blows me away! The entries are all beautiful in their own style but yours just has a classical elegance that I love. I don't really know the first thing about it technically but I'm so moved by the process and the finished product is just astonishing.
Thanks so much, Bob! I think the quillion dagger is the most elegant of blades and there’s a reason it’s a requirement for the ABS Mastersmith test. 👍
another stunning build!! wow one of the most beautiful knives that came from your shop!
Thanks so much, Gil! I appreciate you taking a look.
Wow it turn out incredible. I love the pattern 😍 the contrast between black and white is so nice 👍
Thanks for watching, Alizeh!
Great job by everyone involved! It's neat to see how much this challenge has grown.
I agree, Neesha! The effort put in by all the makers is incredible! Thanks for watching.
You sir are gifted beyond the comprehension of many. Amazing work, just stunning. Thank you for bringing us along for the creation of thus masterpiece!
Thanks so much for checking out the build!
WOW! That thing is amazing. As usual, you did not disappoint!!!
Thanks so much, Mike!
Everything you make has Elegance to it! Great job overcoming those obstacles. Dagger is awesome and the pattern really pops. 👌🏻🔥
Thanks, Spencer! I’m thrilled to have you in this challenge! It’ll shoot you your numbers for sure. 👍
Thanks for putting this competition together. I watched each build with awe. To see the different methods and style of each smith to make outstanding Daggers. It was a very hard choice. It came down to fit and finish + the overall look. I only wish i could have hefted each one. Great job. you have my vote. Congrats to all on some fantastic builds !!
Thanks for watching all the builds, that’s the real win!
Hope your vacation was great. This is such a beautiful dagger 🗡 So much attention to detail in every part of the design & build. Not to mention all the work that doesn’t make it into final edits. Very impressed again. Bravo Sir. Well done. I’ll vote for sure
Thanks so much, Skeeter! I appreciate you checking out the builds.
A real bummer that point near the ricasso broke off, that looked really nice. But nevertheless a fantastic piece of art. Thanks for working so hard to put this competition together!
Thanks, Sven! I love that you’ve moved from viewer to participant! 👍
@@TyrellKnifeworks me too 😄👌🏻
It is incredible how you are able to mentally keep track of what is happening with the layers through all those steps!! I had no idea it was so difficult to achieve these patterns! The graphics you provide really help a lot, I can imagine what is going on. I didn't realize forge men could create these patterns with real metal like this! I used to think they just carved in patterns afterwards or something, but the steal was solid blocks. It is so much more satisfying to realize that they are true metals running through there. Amazing video please keep making them, I really love your stuff.
Thanks for checking out the build. I’m glad the graphics help you. The shark is up at the ricasso right above the guard. Thanks for watching
Amazing build! The pattern is a stunning mixture of symmetry and randomness. Always a pleasure to watch your videos!
Thanks so much, William! I appreciate you watching!
It actually took my breath away, it was so stunning! I’ve never seen Damascus steel with such incredible contrast. Sorry that I’m so late to the table; I’d have voted for you without question. Amazing work, truly amazing.
Thanks so much, Curtis! I appreciate you checking out the build. 👍
I absolutely loved this video, but what I appreciate even more than your craftsmanship and skill is that you didn’t just skip over the chipped piece but you specifically called it out, that’s real humility there. Excellent blade sir
Everyone seems to think it looks better afterwards... lol! Thanks for watching!
@@TyrellKnifeworksI get what they mean, but I think what you were originally going for looked awesome too! Love your copper wave Damascus katana, just watched that video yesterday and one day I hope to be able to make things similar to that!
Looking at this blade it's very hard to believe that you have not completed your journeyman qualifications yet brother that looks like Masters work to me absolutely stunning
Thanks, David! I’ll get to the Master level some day. 👍
your skills and attention to detail are impeccable, beautiful beautiful work, amazing !
That is gorgeous you do magical things w metal, love watching! Really enjoy the pattern display so I can try to understand all the folds and flips and turns!!
I’m glad the graphics are helpful. Thanks for watching
This is a stunning piece of functional art. The contrast is spectacular. But all of that was overshadowed when you had to tell Molly to stop barking … that right there was gold!!
She’s cute but a barker for sure! Thanks for watching!
Exquisite! That Damascus blade turned out amazing. Love the wire fluted handle too. Excellent job and a great video.
Thanks, I appreciate you watching! Check out all the other builds too. 👍
I like some of the other ones but this one is the best without a doubt! Great job, man!
That is a great one !!!! The pattern is beautiful !!!! You can count on my vote for sure. You also make some beautiful welds and machining you are great at. Good luck!!!
Thanks so much, Debra! I appreciate you watching
Truly incredible.. what a masterpiece, a legendary dagger if I ever saw one. Im seeing this video in my recommendations much later so I can only imagine you won this challenge lol. I’ll have to check out the competitor’s pieces for fun but this work of art is simply stunning, bravo!
Thanks for checking out this build! It did indeed win the challenge.
Oh my gosh! It just shot out when I saw the finished product…absolutely beautiful, sir…well done. Fit for nobility or royalty.
Thanks so much, Carlos! I appreciate you watching!
I decided to watch all of this first before looking at the other entries, and I think it turned out excellently, despite the break on the end. Well done sir!
Thanks for checking it out. Definitely watch all the builds, many excellent ones for sure! 👍
Amazing!! Your builds are always of the highest quality.
Thanhs for taking a look!
Great build I'm a little biased and you got my vote but saying that your dagger to me was the most aesthetically pleasing. I have learned so much more from your channel than from any of the others I like the way you present each of them and methodically lay out the process. Thankyou.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching. All the makers did excellent builds this time around. There will be a format change for the next challenge so stay tuned!
This is beyond. What a beautiful dagger, wow.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you checking it out!
You and the other makers in this challenge are doing some incredible work. Nicely done.
Thanks for watching all the builds, Wes! We appreciate it!
I love that you show the pattern on each sections you make. I have never made anything but I adore watching people making knives among other things
I’m glad it’s helpful to envision the process. Lots of other cool build in the library and more coming soon!
Dude this is great and I really appreciate the graphics of the layers as you work. Instant new subscriber
I’m glad the graphics are helpful! Thanks for watching!
Cracking build mate and a very big thankyou for explaining the mosaic process as you are doing it!!
Thanks for checking it out, Russell!
Fantastic work man, I absolutely love how it turned out, everything flows together so well.
Thanks, Matt! I appreciate that.
That looks so good! I can't even begin to comprehend the amount of practice and dedication that has gone into honing your skills to the point where you can create something like that with such ease!
Well, I’ve been at this just under 4 years. If you have the passion and work on it and keep learning, it fine quickly. Thanks for watching, Kevin.
@@TyrellKnifeworks wow, that's impressive how far you've come in such a short space of time? If you don't mind my asking, what kind of background do you have from your career? Beautiful work, I really liked the sneak peek at Blade Show. Thank you!
Thanks for watching the build, David! Great meeting you in Texas. 👍
You know you explaining how you patterened the Damascus was so informative. Like I never understood how someone could predict the pattern that would come out, but you explaining along the way with little infographics made it so easy to understand. You really have a brilliant mind. Have you ever considered teaching because you seem like you would do really well at passing along this knowledge to others. Great video! hope you did well in the challenge since I am seeing this well like 6 months after this video went live.
Thanks so much, John! I’m also a PADI scuba instructor so teaching isn’t new for me. Though my day job has nothing to do with teaching. Thanks for watching!
Nice build!! This is a hard competition to judge because of the vast differences in styles. Good luck!! 🗡
There are so many incredible builds! Check them all out, that’s the real win! 👍
This video popped in my feed and I'm glad it did. It's nice to watch a blade smith forge and show their talent and imagination. I recently watched a video of someone making a reimagined medieval mandalorian helmet and was punching the heated metal with him gloved fist. That was the first time I've ever given a thumbs down on a video in years.
Yeah that’s a little over the top effects for a video. Real blacksmiths use hammers and tongs. 😜 Thanks for checking out this build, Mikhiel!
Awesome dagger. I really like the pattern of the forging. Overall it is a beautiful dagger. Nice work!
Thanks for checking it out!
Wow, true knifemaking artistry. I kept thinking of the feud between the Montagues & Capulets in Shakespeare's *Romeo and Juliet* . Good job!
