Surprised that the M2 BMW has the n55 engine. Beautiful car, but I think the engine is still a leaker. I agree, the Lexus 350 is a serious consideration. Anything Porsche is wonderful! The price of 911 today? Astronomical recently. Another great video Mark
Hi Thomas, hope your weekend is going great and your are staying warm. Yes the early M2's actually used the n55 and used an overboots function and forged pistons making good for about 365 HP. 0-60 IN ABOUT 4.4 seconds made it a fun little hot rod. I have driven an early one and the later M2 Competition with the S55 and I would splurge for the later car. Both sound great, but the Comp will likely have a little stronger holding power. The IS is always a great choice that is a wonderful driver and the engine has the power, although a little anemic at low revs, it does sound great as you rev it. With the extra cash, the IS500 is the big hammer. I little pricey unfortunately. Indeed the Porsches alway seems to command a premium over their competition, even the Macan. I live the smaller SUV although my wife prefers the Cayenne and the larger proportions. 911s are getting silly for pricing, with the 997s having risen by 50-100% in the last 3 years. The 991 Get 1 is nice too, but I think the 991 gen2 with the turbo6 is such a gem and a nice update. Some people like th 992 best but for a Carrera, not me. 992 is great In the GT3 and Turbo with the latter costing close to McLaren money so yes prices are getting nuts. We have been looking at some 996s recently too for my wife since her Boxster got smoked last summer, but really the best models there are the turbo, GT3, or C4S. SO many cars, so little time......and money, lol. Thanks again for the Membership support.
@@ECPP indeed, the 9 11 have gone off the charts! I never really like the 996 and thought the 997.2 would be my fit, or, the 991. Thus, looking round. The LC 500 is a beast! The high cost of the 911 had me looking that direction, as well. Stay warm up there! Still hockey season after all
I'll take a Lexus anytime
@@Vincent-ke5zn Great cars, no doubt. Especially when you could buy a new one, like the RC 350 for the price of a 10-year-old Porsche. Arguably.
If you like keeping your cars for a while then the Lexus IS definite choice
It's not just the Lexus IS, but you can include every Lexus model in this video. My 2013 Lexus GS still had a retail KBB value of $26k when I traded it in last week...with an MSRP of $52k. That's 50 percent depreciation after 10 yrs when most German luxury cars lose more than that in just 5 yrs. The same holds true for Toyota over most "regular" brands of car. That's what happens when a car is built to last.
Cannot get over the Lexus grille though.
As an M2 competition owner, you are absolutely right about them holding value. They're great sports cars.
Any issues you've encountered? Planning to get one. Considering the Nissan GTR too though.
Zero issues so far. I'm also in a local M2 club, and so far, no one has had any significant problems, and we're pretty hard on our cars.
Which M2 do you have?
Glad to have another person say my 22' Lexus IS hasn't depreciated much, good thing I chose it over the NX but I wonder how my IS has depreciated in just a year
I just recently purchased a brand new 2023 IS350 F-sport AWD, and let me say zero buyers remorse. Sure other luxury sports sedans offer more in terms of performance/ tech but I feel the Lexus IS350 is superior as they have refined this for so long, And you will not find a better looker in the segment!(I chose cloudburst with circuit red) and the added reliability of the IS350 is a no brainer. GREAT To see a fellow edmontonian making excellent content! Keep up the great work! Cheers!
Thank you so much for reaching out and yes great choice in the car. They sound great when winding out and reliability is top shelf. I agree it’s great to hear from a neighbor. Hope you week is going great too.
Great choice! I recently purchased a 2023 IS 350 F Sport RWD myself. I got the Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 with white interior. Absolutely gorgeous car and drives really well. The exterior is just too good to not admire tbh.
@@abhisheknauduri7013 100% Agree- Great choice as well-ultrasonic blue mica was my second choice-but I had to have the cloudburst and circuit red :) Cheers!
Mark, epic content, Porsche Macan & 911 🇩🇪 totally Dope , Thxs, have a fabulous weekend ✌️❤️🇨🇦
Have to admit that my Mystic Red C8 Corvette does get more compliments than my Boxster, which most people probably don't know what it is. Maybe it's the color (gray). But the Boxster seems easier to drive, due to its smaller size.
The C8 is a hot topic these days and a popular buy. They look a bit more exotic than many other cars on the road so it certainly catches eyes.
What do you recommend for after market warranties?
Love the channel
You’re right! They don’t depreciate because you’re always repairing them and that’s how they keep their value 👍🏻 BMW, MERCEDES and AUDI are just expensive junk.
lol as opposed to what? Ford and GM are all garbage too
Good to see low depreciation cars !! Nice and Informative!!
That Mercedes G63 V8 is awesome. And the Porsche 911. What a nice pair. Happy little passengers is right.
What is leaking in front look under the front wheel 😝
Haha, thanks. Great to hear from you again. Hope you are having a great weekend.
I had 3 of the 5 on the list: ‘19 Mercedes G63, ‘18 Lexus GS AWD (step up from IS), and ‘19 Macan (step down turbo 4). However in 2019 I purchased a Ferrari F430 which appreciated nearly $40K and sold in 2022.
Liar.
My friend got a 65k service bill with his f 430…. F that I’ll stick to Porsches, plus your getting much more performance for the money. He loves to post his instagram pics with the Ferrari logo so I guess there’s that
@@er98ah Yep Porsches are a good value per per performance. I have owned multiple Porsches and tracked them in Florida. Good solid cars. In the Ferrari world there’s always a $15-30K service schedule every 2-3 years. If there’s problems outside of the schedule add more $$$. My F430 with 17K miles probably has already $30-40K in service and $2-3K in detailing at this point. Excellent car but maintenance is a SOB. I’ve had a ‘21 Aston Martin V8 twin turbo in the garage with no maintenance since everything is under warranty. Unfortunately nothing, including a Porsche, fills my car life better than a Ferrari. FYI - my daily driver is a 2010 Toyota RAV4 with 170K miles - not kidding. Next fun car after the market cools off… I may consider a Huracan or Ferrari 458.
@@epi2045 that’s the way to do it. My daily is a 4 runner and I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off. 21 Martin must be unreal. What is the wow factor for you with Ferraris? The sound is unreal on the 430 with the natural aspirated engine. My garage car is currently a 12 turbo s, next car most likely a gt car, thinking 991.2 gt3. I don’t think I’ll ever buy an Italian exotic but who knows, minds do change.
@@er98ah Would you believe I sold my 1999 Land Cruiser last summer with 406K miles?? It was still running great with moderate rust. As for Ferrari, I like the style, leather work, and the sensation of the flat plane crank ripping past 8,000 rpm. It’s completely ridiculous but YOLO. I grew up poor AF and lived not too far from where George Floyd died. Congratulations on your vehicles! Life is short! Live it up my car friend!
Every bmw needs money for parts replacement, the ///M models are pretty decent with reliability, they just cost a ton of money for replacement parts, and labor costs
That is fair indeed
I would add the 3 series touring which they stopped importing in 2018. I would also add the E63 wagon.
any mention for the new m2 and m240i? what about those 2?
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!
You’re the best brother … truly
love the channel
Thank you a lot for your support
Great video. My only suggestion is that I would have been glad if we could see whats under the hood of the various vehicles. Aside that, great job
Thank you very much
GLC 63 AMG and C63 AMG. These 'entry level' V8's hold value very well, especially when their replacement is hybrid 4 cylinder.
I heard that some Mazda vehicles are returning for some defects …I don’t know which one
That G wagon is FIRE!!!
Mark, thank you for referencing our data!
Cheers. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Surprised no BMW with the B58 engine got a mention as you have spoken positively about that engine in other videos.
Lol😂, this guy is a cheap ass dollar store reviewer. He just walks into any dealer car lot and makes videos. And mostly goes on a f’in rant.
Cause he doesn’t know what he is talking about
@@joecaccamo4836 agreed. Nobody is out searching for that butt ugly porsche, and the G-wagon is about as much fun on a road trip as herpes
I agree with your list, though I don't know much about the M2 and how reliable it is. I sopped believing in BMW's a long time ago. I just don't trust them.
Next time, can you please explain how to run in a performance car like M50i?
It seems the more expensive a car is initially, the better it holds its value for example some of the hyper cars such as Bugatti or Pagani will actually appreciate in value over time.
Not necessarily
That will be because of their relative rarity.
Supercars and Hypercars hold value much stronger and even will surpass MSRP vs a regular run of the mill car that depreciates to almost 0 or to the junk yard they go unless its a limited edition version Mercedes like a Black Series, specialty AMG or any supercar Mercedes SLS SLR models@@issavibez394
Good video' thank you so much.
Thank you very much
@@ECPP Hey do you think I could ask you a few questions about leasing the Mercedes C Class? Not now but in the near future.
Can you compare X5 vs RX 450?
"it's expensive to be poor" sounds crazy but usually so true. What's important is the overall cost of operating a vehicle. The person who buys a 5 year old Porsche Cayenne will pay the same overall than the guy who bought it new due to high cost of non warranty repairs
That G wagon will cost you a fortune to repair, especially with the unnecessary extras like the light washers etc
Very true
If the steering wheel rack and pinion goes its about $18k. I barely can pay $150 bucks to my friend mechanic for all brake pads and rotors in my car
Mazdas to some are considered the most reliable cars to some even better than a Toyota. And you do alot about reliability I think it will be fascinating to do a video about Mazda as oil prices are also going up and there is financial constraints and people like to go for low maintenance and fuel efficient cars. Plus Mazda has one of the best interior. You should surely do a video about MAZDA next!!!
Yes indeed, Mazda is a great brand and one that rarely gets talked about but should be. Stay tuned
@@ECPP yes will really appreciate the video
CX70 is a car I am looking forward to checking out; if it is the ballpark of fun to drive as the GV70 it is a winner. Mazda is a better brand that Genesis I think
Mazda has tranny problems
My CX9 was ok. Control arms and bearings kept breaking
Corvette, eat your heart out. you aint got nothing on an 911 lol. epic dialogue.
Which m2 is most reliable lol which year?
Amg holds it value bc of the platform it’s in, metal tire cover, etc? Guarantee the ppl buying them have no clue about anything below the surface
This is a very fair list.
Thanks
Back in 07-09 you could get a 5 year old G-wagon for under 20k, nobody wanted them, after the Kardashians, you're lucky to get an 03 now for less than 30k.
Oh dear I am big fan of your hair color it look so cool, whenever I watch your video your hair grab me attention, thanks for educating us. Wow❤❤❤❤❤
Haircut looks solid, did you lose a bet? Lol
G class was only made popular by the Kardashian’s and some rappers driving them, as one commentator said most people couldn’t afford one.
how about the 550 value 2019- beyond?
Luxery cars that dont have depreciations, the ones in the dealership 🤣😂🤣
Cheers
Nice cars!
What do you think of Porsche? Would you consider owning one of their sports cars or suvs? Over a bmw?
100 percent they are better built than most BMWs and I would own both the Macan and Cayenne, on top of the 911 I already own.
@@ECPP thank you!!! You’re the only YT person I know that actually replies to messages even from way back. Awesome that you have a 911 I’m so jealous!!
So I gotta give away or sell my left arm to buy 1 of these cars maybe not the Lexus but everything else lol Good vid
Haha, cheers
Yeah, sell your left arm to buy one of these(excluding the Lexus) - then sell your right arm to keep up with the maintenance and repairs! 😂
Can I ask about Acura Mdx 2020 I got one with 28 k , is’t reliable car ?
Hi Jihad, yes the MDX is a great SUV and while certain models had some transmission issues, for the most part it carries Honda reliability which is far better than most other brands out there. I believe there were some fuel pump recalls in some and I have heard from a few people that the transmission may delay on engagement during acceleration. Brakes are also a little weak, but honestly no car is [perfect and its still a solid contender and is definitely worth owning.
Noooooooo
Noooooooo
Pretty limited consumer interest for a Mercedes Benz AMG G Class. You're looking at a price of $309,000 new, plus that bulletproof tank with the "industrial handles" gets around 18.1 city / 14.7 hwy litres per 100 KM. So it would cost you about $15,000 more over 5 years than the average new vehicle just for the premium fuel it guzzles. I guess if you have the big bucks to buy one you don't really care about gas mileage. Not exactly a commuter vehicle.
The question; is reliability attached to less depreciation? Considering that some of these vehicles, perhaps with the exception of Lexus with its Toyota time tested engineering, have astronomical repair and maintenance costs, and the warranties for most luxury cars (BMW/Mercedes) is four year or 50K. So, it would make sense that there would be some depreciation at 5 years, is the extent based on reliability? It seems no one buys a vehicle to keep more than 3-5 years. I think about Maserati Quattroporte, or the exotic Bentayga, and despite the exotic labels, the depreciation is massive. And that "unvenerable" soon-to-be driveway ornament, the Land Rover.
One reason why they hold their value well is because the have decent reliability
It seems yes. That's one reason Land Rover depreciates this fast. Some particular Mercedes and BMW models that hold their value well after 10 years are reliable models.
2022 Macan S lost 20% after one year when I wanted to trade in for a Cayenne.
It's really quite something to note that the common thread among all these videos is the most expensive cars are the ones that poor people are buying-GM, Chrysler, Hyundai/Kia etc. I honestly don't understand they manage to sell a single car, considering the level of trust they've established with such poor quality.
My 2007 BMW 530d has had zero depreciation over the last 7 years !
One other cost factor that rich people consider on a $179,000 base Geländewagen, like this M-B is the loss of revenue on that cash. Most expect at least 5% return on their liquid assets (cash). If they pay cash, they stand to lose $9000 PER YEAR on that cash investment in this car. Wealthy people scrutinize that if they're not making money on their liquid assets, they're LOSING money.
I will never consider the Macan to be a real Porsche. I see those things in Ottawa all of the time, completely trashed, covered in salt, sitting on Little Tony's used car lot.
Even the cayenne?
You didn't have to disrespect Mistubushi.. I do agree the name eclipse cross is a miss fit.
Thanka
Love porche....my dream car...
I almost clicked off thus video when he pointed at that Mitsubishi. Rs. 😂😂😂
Haha
80% of the people could not afford any one of those cars that you just discussed... Especially in today's economy
economy is great lots of jobs out there don't be fooled by fake news.
@@papagen00 Unless you have a ton of money to put down your Monthly payment will be almost another mortgage payment if that's what you want
They did say Luxury Cars
@@jamesbaine580 True, I have the money but choose to drive a regular car so as not to become a target of robbers and carjackers. Also I carry a gun in the glovebox.
He did say luxury
Another on point video. Guys like me only buy cars like this because when you trade up you have a huge down payment.
Thank you very much for the support
They might hold their value, but you better have won the lottery to pay for repairs
With some
Macan hood opens like a Mini Cooper not an old Jag but ok
Yes that’s fine indeed. Kinda cool really
While here watching ads. Dude. Just list the top five Lexus models.
Nice
Good to know, thanks! Certainly considering the 911 for my wife.
They are awesome cars
AMERICAN AND JAPAN CARS FOOD MOVIES AND PEOPLES LIFE THE BEST
911 and Panmera have FLAT 6 cylinder engine. By the time it reaches 90000 miles it will have oil leak and many other problems.
Kicking myself for not buying the M2 CS back in 2020 😢
Nice Cars, but they all depreciate except ford gt and Bugatti, 75 to 80 thousand miles then the repair bills kick in
I really want a BMW
There are some cool ones for sure
Until they end up in the shop
(Sigh) I love the M2
Toyota hilux pickups dont depreciates that much and they keep running for a lifetime over 600,000 miles
Well. An amg g series losing 25 percent over 5 years is still about 50k so. Lol
Yes but it’s really about the percentage
Are we talk about little depreciation of vehicles before the pandemic or after? If it is later, then maybe. If it is before, LMAO........
How many M2’s do you see on the road today? 😂😂😂
"This vehicle is LITERALLY gorgeous". I don't understand what that means because "literally" doesn't mean "VERY"...it means "literally". Please people. Please.
Thanks for watching
My father bought the 2021 bmw x5 in early 2021. 1 whole year later BMW asked if they could buy it back for the SAME price because of the shortage of microchips…
Cheers
This guy looks like my father and idk how I feel about it 😂
Thanks for watching either way….cheerz
You are philosophing too much 😁.
In what way?
In few weeks the very same cars will appear in another video with title: 5 luxury cars will remortgage your house
Whats amazing is go try to lease a G-wagon. They dont depreciate, yet they payment is through the roof. Payments on a lease are based on depreciation... riddle me this batman.
I’m settle for the Honda CRV
Thanks
G wagons are highly overrated, if you take one of them off road compared to a forerunner, they wouldn’t even compete
They are pricey, but fairly capable
Beuuuutiful
Nice
LITERALLY
LOL 😂. G. ENDLESS MONEY PITS.
Ouch 0:32
I think I’m get a Honda CRV
Thanks
Bmw depreciate horrendously like benz and G class aren't all that
Cars that won't depreciation: "look, I has beautiful tires, beautiful doors, look, beautiful mirrors, oh look, beautiful seats, and look, beautifully grill, oh, and a gorgeous emblem, look here, an amazing sunroof, look at these wheels....". That's what this sounds like. A description of car parts, full of adjectives.
I disagree on the Macan, 2017 Macan S's are selling for under $30k now so here's my list... 911 Targa, Lamborghini Urus, Ram TRX, Land Crusier Heritage Edition, CT5/6V Blackwing, Lexus LC500.
He said "literally" 500 times and "beautiful" 1000 times in this video
Lol
All porsches
They hold great value for sure
I'll take the Lexus anytime
Great cars
PORSCHE IS ONE OF THE BEST MANUFACTURERS TODAY. THOSE CARS MEAN QUALITY NO ONE BENZ JAG OR BMW CAN STAND UP TO PORSCHE RICE EATERS HAVE NO CHANCE TO STAND UP BESIDE PORSCHE. VW Diesels was the best in the world for that reason destroyed VW Diesel in North America. I wish I own PORSCHE Diesel. North American money wastes land only profiteers in the power. Mechanics who do not know what is the proper tire pressure for the car. Oil change after 20.000km oh so nice my car engine is the best ha ha ha - after 50.000km oh many problems no power and repair price need new engine ha ha ha
I do agree about Porsche and while they are pricey to maintain, they are much better built and certainly more reliable than most of their rivals.
stop using the word LITERALLY for every description. You actually mean figuratively in most cases...lol
Haha, that’s fair
Do not buy any luxurious European vehicle, ever.
Volvo
I would just get 18 stang than your list bro
I am only watching this as a background noise. But out of all of these, only the chepaer Lexii, G-class and 911 will hold value. The maintenance on the 911 and Macan will bury you, and the G-class is a thieves magnet. So, in reality, just buy a Lexus.
Even good used cars depreciate. Unless you own a true collectible that's rarely driven, ecpect to lose almost every buck you spent, plus costs of repair.
