  • A one year old Porsche Turbo S sounds like a fast, reliable supercar, that's not going to lose too much and still is a fully practical day-to-day driver.

    @NoosaHeads@NoosaHeads Жыл бұрын
    • It depends which one you get and when. Some lose 50% of their value and Porsche has been pushing $200,000 911 Turbos for a decade but they lose way too much value new. But if you can get it at the bottom of the depreciation curve you can find a decent bargain. Exactly why I buy GT3s I don’t know if I’d buy one only one year old. Maybe a 5 year old car

    • Agree. As a former Ferrari owner, I’ve gone back to (classic) Porsche. Brilliant to drive, reliable, great dealer network, retain value. Not cheap to service, but far from nosebleed Aston Martin costs.

    • This is normal, look at what the 911SC did in about early 2000, they could be had for 10k-12k now pushing 40k-60k.

  • I bought my Vantage for £116,000. It was a year old with 1,500 miles on it. It has every option you can get so I would guess the list price was £155-160k. I’d expect the car to be worth about £95k after three years. It comes with 3 years warranty and 5 years servicing so running costs are minimal. I don’t understand why you guys are so down on what is a stunning car. Everywhere I go people come over and comment on how beautiful it is. It’s also a joy to drive. I can’t think of anything I’d rather be driving (maybe a Ferrari 812 GTS, but certainly not any Porsche or McLaren) Worth every penny to me so far. I am in love. I do think the DBS is a dud on balance though.

  • You forgot about the 720s discounting! Right now there are 3 brand new dealer cars with £50k off each at £218k brand new with options, and that's just one dealer. This has always been the issue with the 720 more than anything else, very few owners paid list. So actually depreciation not that bad unless you paid full price which is very rare. At least the 675LT is appreciating. About 25% in past 2 years. 😃

  • Enjoyed the video, as I do with all your content. But, with mainstream cars (pre-Covid) 45-50% depreciation was par for the course in the first three years. That’s what PCP GFVs were based on. So the numbers are painful here because of the values, but the depreciation numbers are just “normal”?

  • I bought my 720s 2nd hand, 19 plate last year, in 2021, 3000 miles, mclaren orange, all the carbon bits for £170k so far i've probably lost £10k on it. I think most of the depreciation is now done so i doubt they'll go below £100k, but who knows what the market will bring next year.

    • How are you finding the 720s? I have had a 540c for four years and throughly enjoyed it. Fun to throw around on country roads. Only a few minor issues, such as with bodywork and a/c. I am very tempted to move into a 2019 720s coupe at around the 150k mark. There is something pulling me back however...

The extended warrenty is a bite at £3k but for a car that looks so good, scissors doors, lets loads of attention for £150k, i really don't know what beats it. If im to pick one thing thats 'slight' downer, that would be the noise. not quite V10 or V12 noise, but thats me being picky, its still a great noise

  • Where are these numbers coming from? In US the Ferrari's and Lamborghinis all sell for much higher than sticker used. Not as high as 6 months ago when the market when nuts but a year old Roma is going for 40-50K over sticker and a year old F8 is going for 100K over easy.

    @nfareview@nfareview Жыл бұрын
    • Hence why I mentioned that specifically in the parameters section - did you not notice. The US dealer markup is an entirely unfair practice that for some reason Americans tolerate - hence it completely skews the value and price of cars. That’s why we ignored it.

    • @@TheCarGuysTV It just blows me away that the UK market is "normal" and ours is so askew. That means there are more buyers here in the US and sales haven't slowed enough for a correction. But I figured UK had the same amount of buyers. Hence why I was so confused. Enjoy those prices! I hope you snag some deals!

      @nfareview@nfareview Жыл бұрын
    • @@nfareview I suspect it's because the US has more of that cheap money sloshing around still. The economy hasn't gotten completely whacked down...yet. I suspect 2023 is going to be a very different story. HOWEVER, I do believe that the big engines and manual transmissions will become quite valuable with the UN/WEF pushing their technocratic 'EV' agenda. The auto manufacturers are being forced to go EV behind the scenes, with a cover story of being 'green' and 'saving the earth.'

  • Aventador prices will crash hard once its successor comes out in meaningful numbers in about two years. What we have seen in past few years has been in many ways outlier anyway. Too many people with way too much money they do not know what to do with it. At same time production numbers for practically all supercar models has been much larger than ever before. Combination which can't last forever. There will be lots of owners which will get burned since they bought at peak market with huge markups on already too high list prices.

The reason I ask is that it:s possibly the only way a lot of enthusiasts could actually hope to own one of these vehicles. The other one would be, best super cars you can rent and enjoy for a day or 2 and what to expect? Tips advice etc. McClaren seems to equal complete looser for the owner buyer though, closely followed by Aston Martin. Oh to have the budget where 30 to 40 percent of a purchase price can be just thrown away. Some people have WAY to much money.
