Bedard has become an absolute SAVAGE

Connor Bedard has clearly shown the league, he can hang when it comes to pure skill alone. No doubt about it, but this is the NHL. The big boy league, he obviously broke his jaw just over 6 weeks ago and at times, guys have tried to test him. Bully him around a bit, we saw it Matthew Tkachuk, with Brad Marchand and last night as the Chicago Blackhawks came into Carolina, we saw it again. Hurricanes Sebastian Aho laid a big reverse hit, sitting the rookie down and after the 2nd period, he got an extra shove from Spencer Martin after Bedard was pushed into him. Not only Bedard he not back down, he answered by knocking Spencers stick out of his hand and then, on the score sheet before staring down Martin like the savage he is. It was overall a dominate game from the Carolina Hurricanes though but I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

    • The only thing that will cost him the Calder at this point is another injury. If he misses 30+ games like McDavid did, he can't win. But there is tons of precedent for guys getting the Calder with ~14 games missed like Bedard has right now.

Imagine in baseball if a pitcher gives up 20 runs and then tries to act tough because his team already put up 25. “Scoreboard” is probably the biggest cop out for bad individual play ever. Carolina is one of the best teams, the hawks are by far the worst. There’s no “bragging” in beating a team you should beat 95/100 times.

Watching Bedard become an even bigger legend while we suck and wait for Nazar, Moore, Lardis and all the other top prospects to develop. The hawks will be a playoff team in two years if not next year. Just like when they drafted toews 4th then Kane 1st. Once they were both up on the hawks they couldn’t be stopped. I hope Nazar or Moore can be that type of player for Connor and really make the Blackhawks a scary contender again. Reichel forgot how to play hockey unfortunately. • Filigno has been gold BUT ChiHawks need someone nasty to really fuck up guys that cross the line. Washington's Tom Wilson could do this, because he's 51% past 18 years old mentally now, and not getting younger, and could start using some of his geniuine actual hockey talent for the light side of the force. Another guy, might be Englund, hitting the ripe old age of 28 and will need to start thinking about playing systems more as years go by and the price tag might be right. Bedard is a beast, but if Chicago let's people take liberties with him like the league did with Crosby... I know it's old school, but you HAVE to have a guy that when you cross the line with Bedard, you have a guy that EVERYONE wakes up and secretly hopes they don't have to fight. Now, another day, don't waste a good player's career like my man George Laraque's career ended. A guy you want on your team like Georges Laraque who is a viable great hockey player, that can also viably change your perspective on life decisions, if needed. A guy that when the coach tells you to drop them with, a small part of your life dies. Pittsburgh didn't do it with Sid, the game was going in a different way... What's really not good is that Bedard is going to get his head knocked off by questionable hits for the next 4 years, and then get REALLY hurt, and all of you will ask, "How could this have happened?" I hope I am wrong.

  • Shouldn't that reverse hit be called as interference? "In ice hockey, a player can only check an opponent who is in possession of the puck. Checking is a technique used to separate an opponent from the puck by using the body to knock them against the boards or to the ice. A player cannot use their hands, stick, or extension of the arms to body check an opponent or deliver a late body check to a player who is not in control of the puck."

  • I love how many people said the injury was going to make Bedard realize he's a stupid kid with no chance in the NHL and he'd turn into a timid and shy player who is too scared of getting hurt to play hard, and yet he's still wearing a fishbowl helmet and he's already more aggressive and ambitious than he was before. Y'all really released a new supervillain into hockey.

  • Did anybody else realize it that reverse hit to Bedard was illegal. The guy left the ice when you body check someone in hockey your feet have to stay on the ice you can’t jump and hit someone and that’s classified as jumping because he lifted off the ice and hit him, it might be from behind, but it’s still illegal
