A five-star hotel, hospital and educational facilities. These will feature in Indonesia's new capital Nusantara's Sumbu Kebangsaan, or National Axis, chairman of Nusantara Capital Authority Bambang Susantono tells CNA's Yasmin Jonkers. He likens the building to Washington's National Mall. He says Nusantara will be a model for future cities, even outside of Indonesia.

No roads and water supply were....those have been built and currently being expanded. So private sectors like 5 star hotel and hospitals (there are three, two are private, one owned by the state) can be built.

Rising sea levels means people will eventually be forced to move (even if they don't want to). The forsight to try and plan for this eventuality on a national level could help avert a chaotic crisis. I hope this plan works out well for all.

well many Indonesians who stack their wealth in Singapore is the target of IKN, not necessary Singaporean investors. They are a lot of other countries ..we have time and do not forget a country of 278 Million people, 5 % average annual growth , 130 Million mid to high income population with a total GDP PPP of usd 4.75 Trillions in 2024 to grow up to 14 Trillions by 2050 is not a sweetener ? and my question will be how is Singapore going to expand in the infrastructure growth in the future ?

Jakarta has become a special district. A law has been passed last week. Jakarta is no longer the capital city. It will remain as a business and commercial hub extending to additional regional areas. The president will soon issue a decree appointing Nusantara as the capital. Some government officials shall start moving to Nusantara by 17 aug 2024.

5 star hotel & hospital not a big deal/issue for Malaysia..we have both everywhere in countries..meaning there are so much more importanat to build rather than both the infrucutures like hiway overall nature like forest river and drain system shd be well organise s well as haousing estate for hight & medium level shd be build and located nearby...

In other side government doing many projects on going to solve Jakarta problems from build and integrating public transportation (MRT ,LRT, Jakarta busway), EV subsidy, building giant sea wall , build some dams in upper stream river, river normalization, waste water treatment and clean water upgrading capacity, RDF plant for waste treatment etc.

For new capital city like Putra Jaya Malaysia & Nay Pi Daw Myanmar, the country shall take lead to complete the whole main infrastructure of new capital city and then segmentise certain part of the new capital city for other concept such as High tech city and Advanced Media Corridor by enticing & inviting public and private companies to design and commercialise it further as a sub projects of the main one.
When it's still ground zero, it's challenging to commercialise it as investor can't design their dream on top of your dream

East Kalimantan is one of the richest province in Indonesia. It has oil, gas and coal. Balikpapan city ( 1 hour ) from Nusantara is oil city.
