Thasha Thiru thanks
Thanks😘
Thank you!!
Thasha Thiru i have fine hair, and im getting my hair done tmro, and luckily the color that i wanted is exactly right for my hair ;) Edit: got my hair dyed, im so happy with it!!
• Cinnamon • I have fine hair too I’m get highlights😌
The hardest part for me is finding a hair stylist who actually knows the techniques that they say they do. I’ve gone in asking for balayage multiple times to different salons and instead of having the product painted on the hair in a flattering v-shape like I’ve seen in your videos- they go straight in with scattered highlights. Frustrating when I ask specifically if they are familiar with these techniques!
Elise Pavek They get so offended but never actually answer the question and 100% ofvthe time let you down. It’s been years and I am still looking for hair colourist that won’t mess up my hair.
Test1 \test2 yes to both of you guys!!!
Ask to see their work in or portfolio to see if you can get what you’re looking for
Elise Pavek so true! My stylist has followed an 80s template on pin striped foil job, as if it was pulled from a cap! . Despite how I tell him every appointment that I want thicker slices and some strategic placement, he couldn’t grasp so we decided to switch to Balayage and the same thing happened… I hear your frustration, please let me know if you find a good stylist! I’m looking too. Good luck!
@@mulliganstew72 you have to ask stylist if they have been trained in that. When they say yes, ask questions if it was continued training with the salon, or on their own, who taught the class, what products did they use. They should be able to tell you. If they say they dont remember, then no they didnt have trng. I think you are looking for ombre not balyage. Ask how they are going to do it. If foil then you know. You want the color in V sections. Also when yor in public look for someone who's hair you adore. Complement & ask where they got it done. They will be flattered and tell you.
I love how honest and real you are when you talk about hair!
You are being really informative overall and particularly on how to have balayage + babylights for the first time to start creating that soft natural look. Thank you so much.
Definitely some outfits that you wear to work in the salon! I love your channel, I'm still a student hairdresser and your explanations are really clear and interesting, it helps me a lot! Can't wait for your next video with Redken :)
Both. I would love to see you actually working on client. Transformation on client with your tips. I know it's hard to make this type of videos but it would help us hairdressers learn maybe something new because we all have our favourite techniques that we seem to stick to. It's nice to see what others do
I feel like you're the only person on KZhead shedding light on this (applying balayage on fine hair) subject. I totally agree, my own hair is really fine and hard to get a soft line when you bring the blonde up too high... THANKS SILVIA
I definitely want to see you doing more hair videos in action up close and personal in the salon your techniques and personality in your work.
Just what I thought! I have fine hair and was thinking to get a mixture of the two, babylights and balayage. I love how you explained everything in detail, very helpful video!
Yes go over lightness in the area that are suitable
Id love to see you work at the salon and do a tutorial on a Balyage or ombré. I’m personally a visual learner and I’d love to see how you do it!! Xxo
Just found your channel and have already watched so many videos! So glad I found you! You are so thorough, informative and easy to listen to! Love your vids 💛
This is the best explanation I’ve heard of this. As someone with fine but a lot of it hair the stylists that do a combination definitely get the result I’m looking for! The softness and the dimension 🎉
This was great. So informative! All these examples made so much sense! This should be a series talking about different cuts, styles etc. By the way what is sombre? Ombré mixed with what?
I love your videos, I use to be a hairdresser but haven’t been working in a salon for years but still cut hair on my family and myself. You are a great hairstylist and I get ideas from your videos. Thank you Dottie
Listening to you educate so in-depth on the topic of hair and break down the process itself to where its comprehensive and helpful, really shows you how some stylists actually dont know crap about hair and what styles work or why they don’t. And often why we end up with the opposite of what we pay so much money for to get, then have to fix sometimes over and over again with the stylist making up an excuse as to why you cant have whats in the picture! Thank you...wish there were more stylists with your knowledge. It would sure make coloring easier lol. 🥂
So I actually found this video AFTER having the balayage done because I wanted to check if I got what I wanted because it looks different than the pictures I've seen. And now I understand that I am the perfect example that you mention - I have a lot but thin hair and the pictures I've seen and loved are with thick hair. 😂 and what my hairdresser did is exactly what you say - she did balayage with highlights (she even mentioned them at the time and I was suprised then). Shortly, I am happy I found a good hairdresser who knows what she's doing and does what's best for me. But my initial ignorance, lol 🤣
This video is so helpful! And yes please give us more! The idea you described for future videos would be amazing see.
I would love to see a video on which areas on the hair to lighten. 😘😘
Omg you are so beautiful- absolutely love your makeup.. especially this look. So glowy but light 😍❤️
Great explanation regarding patience with hair goals and the analogy of things taking time to naturally occur like they would outdoors. Excellent vid! Thanks for posting :)
+Jessica Van Raden yay so glad this helped.
I’m lucky cause my hairdresser is incredible and she is so awesome at balayage ( which is what I get most of the time ) and she always know exactly what she’s talking about. I’m thinking of getting a full head of highlights
Yes go over what lightness works for your face shape. Thank you for the informative tips
This was so so so helpful!! I’ve realized I need/want a mixture of both baby lights and balayage. My hair is fine but I have a dense scalp so loooots of it!
Yes!! Video on highlighting and hair cuts suited for your face shape AND colours for your colour season complexion / eye colour please.
Thank you for this video... such an important video you did an excellent job explaining!
Could you do a skincare video? Or maybe spring fragrances and body products? :)
I'd love to see that video about concealing big cheeks in a future video 🤩 this is also an awesome one! Thank you 😘
Thx for explaining the differences! Can you please do a video on different ways to style the back of your hair? I have mastered the front and am always unsure how to do the back. There is very little (to nothing) on KZhead. Occasionally I see the back of my hair in pictures and I am always unhappy with the look.
Yessss please do the video where to highlight for face shapes! :)
You are so good! Which place of adding highlights suits best for people with large forehead and wants make it look less longger?
Thankyou so much, this is exactly what I needed to hear. I always know exactly what I want but don't know 'technically' what to ask for. I don't know where my hair needs coloured to shape my face best either.. my stylist knew what to do but moved away recently. Shouldn't my new stylist know where to apply color for shape?
I would love to hear about lightened placements and how to bring attention to our best bits! (No one wants to make a double chin more noticable!) 😉 Im thinking of getting balayage pieces around my face , in an attempt to blend in grey hair a little better and if I knew where to place them, it would help me greatly. 😊
YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS
I have fine hair & now know why highlights are best for me. Yes, I would like you to do a video about color placement to enhance facial features. 😀
Hi...can you please do a video on hair protein treatment or keratin treatment. Your videos are helpful xx
You are an amazing artist my friend. Thank you for the info.
Yes please! A week of work outfits and hair styles
Great Video! A video where to add color to enhance your face shape would be great! I also love your season outfit videos.
apple
Ty so much for all the fabulous tips and styles....this is my new obsession.... I can't wait to go balayage..... I'm so excited.... I love the eyebrows tips....Ive let mine grow out now it's time to try something new....ty do much ur dp beautiful and talented ....keep me posted
Thank you for this video. It helped me manage my expectations for my very fine and not a lot of hair.
Learned my.lesson with balayage and fine hair, I've always done a lovely balayage but made my sectioned a little too big on my friend that has very fine hair and not much of it, she had a couple of lines (not as bad as the first pic) lesson learned and I fixed it with blended root drag .
Thank you for your videos! I’ve been looking up some balayage styles and was wonder whether it’s possible to have a balayage with black hair without bleaching? Maybe with some other color like a dark red or brown instead? Or is it difficult for the color to show up?
I'd love too see that colour/highlighting for your face shape and hair type video!
Thanks, Sylvia-I would love u to do a vid about where to add color/light-I'm very petite, and my balyage has grown out way too much-I really feel like having it lighten up hgher makes me look taller. Is that because its drawing the eye up to the light? I LOVE yr tech vids.
Great video as usual I would love to see the strobing or contouring with kites or darks for my round gave. I have long, very thick hair that I just don’t have time to style it every day. Any advice would be so appreciated 🙏👍
Love this video thank you! Your next video idea sounds awesome 😁
I have watched your video first time and it is soooooo good ...the details you gave are outstanding .I always want to have some colour on my head but never get enough money to get those treatments...it's so expensive in london...:(
is that your natural base color at the roots? would you consider your hair to be a combo of balayage and babylights?? appreciate your answer sooo much thank you
I love ur vids ur such an inspiration ❤️
I sooo wanna get my hair done by you. Wish I wasnt so far away. Big thanks from Ontario.😘
I have fine hair and a girl botched my first ombre, and curled it after to cover up the patchyness that she didn’t blend well, so now i always ask for straight hair after to check their work before i walk out.
I would love to see a video on your thoughts and technique on Peek A Boo Highlights. I am thinking of doing something like that when my hair gets longer
Thank you for your videos, you are a real help for us non professional but interested people. Thank you.
You are beyond talented and beautiful! Thanks for this! Showing my hairdresser!
I say yes to all the fashion idea videos! Always love all your videos!
+Lesley St Germain thanks!! definitely adding these to the list
Omg your hair is amazing 😍
I have very curly hair and every time I go to a hair stylist they are always visibly shocked when they touch my hair. It’s always so funny because they all say the same thing “wow! You’re hair is SO soft!” I have what I consider fine hair (you can see a lot of my scalp when I put my hair back) but my hair is very long and the “bulk” of it is down by my neck. I completely agree with your above analysis! I noticed that when I get my hair lightened it always looks best when it grows out a little because it’s so hard to get those soft pieces near the top of my head!
Would love to see how you’d recommend colour placement to slim the face... thank you! 💐
@ellebangs Would you please tell me - How to achieve the look of the hair on 5:42 mark? What colours are those? Some beige blonde mixed with root tap, perhaps?
I would like the next video to be where you explain blonde highlights would be good for different face shapes. Especially square faces. ❤️💗
I LOVE your entire look in this video, from makeup to your hair, even to your shirt! Do you remember where it's from??
Any video about fashion and hair I want to see. Love ur videos and all the information you give. I have fine hair. So thanks so much for this video.
I have thin hair and less hair, I’m wondering if you would recommend I get tape extensions prior to a balayage? My hair has probably been dyed once or twice my whole life lol for the same reason as stated above I understand extensions and bleach make your hair fall and thinner however I want to try something new 😩I need a change and I’m the type that will do this probably just once or twice in a blue moon so in wondering if you’d recommend I get the extensions prior to color to achieve a nice balayage blend ?
I learned so much watching this. Thank you
Whenever I want color effects (I've only had all color when the sun leaves my naturally off-black hair brassy, then I get jet-black with no blue double pigment) hairdressers always go for foil highlights. So I've just assumed that, that's all that'll work on my hair. Next month will be the first time I might go for one overall color in something - please anything else - than jet-black. My hair is straight, coarse with a thick diameter but quite sparse amount so I wear it med-long with soft layers on top with open "curtain bangs". On the other hand, if my husband wants "something on top like I've been a lot in the Sun", he'll say ,and they paint/bleach with a brush but don't cover his hair with foil or anything else. He has fine blond hair worn short and not much of it. My hairdresser has small children and works from home, I've even seen her in her PJs if I have a very early appointment.:D
Great advice!! Now I understand everything...thank you for sharing :)
Hi dear can u guide which brand among WELLA AND L'ORÉAL is best in hair color field ? Will wait for ur reply.
Im not even a hairdresser but i think the video of outfits you wear to the salon would be entertaining!!
+Cassie Greulich ok thanks for letting me know.. I was thinking a spring lookbook was more universal for my audience but I like to hear non hairdressers would also be interested in a salon fashion video.
ellebangs more is more though! So i say both :) :)
Talk to much
talk to much
You are honestly the best at explaining things! 😃 I want to go blonde or blonder at least. Now I have my virgin hair that have a honey blonde or light brown kind of color. Which I got bored of. I want m6 hair to be blonde but not all one color, with highlights! I really hope for the best - fingers crossed 🤞🙃
I would love to see a video on highlight placement to reduce or accentuate certain facial characteristics.
Me too
Yes do a video on concealing certain areas! I have very thick hair thinking of doing ombre because tired of doing roots with hair highlights every 4 months. My roots are dark blonde almost brown. What base should I tell my hair dresser having a few grays come through as I am 53 years old now just a few. lol
So, my hair is super thick and course. I used to wear it fully hi-lighted, but have gone back to more of my dark blonde color with some natural ombre hi-lights. Well, now I'm getting grey, which is coming in silver. I'm thinking I need to go lighter, because doing my roots more than twice a year(my usual) isn't working with the silver/platinum! What would you suggest I do?
I love your videos!! Can gray hair be blended into color Instead of covering gray?
What color lipstick are you wearing in this video. Absolutely love your makeup In this video. Please share with us your makeup products. Thank you.
I want to try to my hair now .. thanks for sharing !
Yes, please cover color "contouring" ! :)
I feel like i have learnt what my hair needs when i want a balayage style hair: 1. JUST babylights or teasing 2. with FOILS only, because without foils I get a part where my hair stays orange! So is it okay to go to a hairdresser and tell him: Please, i dont want the balayage technique and to use foils for every part that has bleach on? I would love to hear your opinion if its okay to ask for that when going to a salon ((:
i recall you doing your own touchup for the top of your head on video but how do you get to the back?
I have brown hair, of which I dye darker brown. But, I've also been blonde, of which I'm not opposed to doing again. I have had grays show up (of which I cover) for a long time. For now, it's just at the roots, but not all over. Which color technique would hide this better, and for a longer time?
Yes, a look book please!
Thnx for all ur KZhead video,i can see that u r blonde experience is showing so good but can u do one of how we re pigment the hair to ash brown with out make in it faint quickly
Great video! What about people who have neither thin or very thick. What do you recommend for medium thickness hair please?
I got partial highlights done and my hair turned out PLATINUM blonde. Underneath was so dark. She had to eventually add more highlights underneath and smudge the root to make it less bright. I still think its WAY too blonde - like white, and I wanted a dirty/natural blonde. Can i tone this down to a different colour? or will it look too ashy?
Great video with good explanations!
I have fine long hair, and I have never colored my hair before. I need to color it now bc I am getting gray. So what do I do since I want a natural look, but you suggested to start lower? I'm asking bc the gray obviously is from the root. Thank you!!
I have a lot of fine hair and want to go ashy blonde. I have always had similar colour highlights, but haven't had them redone for a couple years so the roots are a substantial dark blonde/mousey brown- kind of looks ok though. Would it work if I got ash highlights again, and then asked for balayage of top roots in between getting more highlights? Is that better than just keeping on getting half head highlights? Is it more economical?
So Elle, what's the name of your highlights style?I'm looking get to get my hair lighted ..I have dark brown roots ...I'm 45 ....
This was super informative. Thank you !
Went onto Monat site, I read what they claim to not have in there ingredients, which was, “Harmful Fragrances,” but I read in the ingredients that it says, “Fragrance (parfum)” so is that a natural fragrance? If so I wanna know what natural ingredient that is. Thanks!
Wow this stylist is so imaginative and such insight on color !!! And a deep understanding on how color works on all types of hair !!! Why can’t this girl be at my salon !!! No she probably is 27464837 miles away. But enjoyed your vid and I have a better understanding of color !! Thanks pretty girl ❤️
I’m getting my hair done on Thursday and going to a very expensive, and highly regarded place, because I have been so disappointed with my hair lately. This video was SO educational and helpful!!!! Thank you!! I have thinning hair that I’m currently fighting with and I am always asking for “balayage,” but this video has taught me more about what to actually ask for. To be honest, I just want to first and foremost look like I have as much hair as possible. Secondly, I want to be blonder. Luckily, I think being blonder helps with having a appearance of more hair. But if you have any tips on how to ask for color or cut, please let me know!!! I have been dealing with progressively thinning hair for a few years and sometimes it feels truly devastating. I have a pretty good attitude about it now and consider myself pretty realistic when it comes to what my hair will look like after a visit to the salon vs what I wish it would come out like, but I would love to learn more about what to ask for!
What lipstick are you using¿ it’s very pretty
I have really really long hair and my hair is quite thin what should I do, as I would like a kind of a sombre or balayage
I have very thick hair. Right now because it is winter my hair turned into a dirty blonde but in summer it is lighter. My hair is also extremely curly and I want to make it lighter but I don’t know what hair coloring I should do.
I’d love to see the video showing where to place color for your face shape!
+Melissa Schneider added to the list
I used to be a brunette.. with like a chocolate brown but very dark... then last year in April.. I bleached my hair very slightly.. just at the ends.. my hair wasn't damaged.. then.. I did it again because my hair grew out and it kept getting more and more damaged.. my hair is extremely extremely thick and wavy and curly.. I want to become blonde like you are but maybe with a few more golden tones and smoked out roots but I'm scared that my hair will become completely damaged and stop growth.. I also would like to perm straighten my hair (it's what my hair dresser recommended because my hair is too thick) ... I was just wondering what you thought?
My stylist gave me blonde highlights when I really wanted balayage. When I showed her a photo she said we can achieve it with highlights. Now I hate them. Its not blended. There’s a harsh line and bad contrast between the roots and my natural hair. What can ask for to have her fix it?
All of the video ideas sound very interesting! I say make all of them😍
Hi!! I have a question: Do you recommend a person with little & fine hair to get a balayage? My hair is fine/thin & it falls a lot... i do weekly scalp treatments with natural products & apply oils to the ends of my hair. Currently my hair is a soft black/dark brown & I’d like to lighten it to a bright ash-y blonde with a balayage. I would it damage my hair a lot? Or should I be fine if I take proper care of it? Thank you!
