Tommy Morrison - Great White Hope, and a technician in the ring.

  • I loved Tommy Morrison. Superb left hook on him. But my God Lennox Lewis is easily one of the finest Heavyweight boxers in history. A magnificent specimen of a fighting man. Todays boxers would be destroyed by him…….and indeed Morrison. Fact.

    • So true, you ain’t joking! Lewis can be argued to be a top 4 of all time. Has a win over every man he’s ever faced. Only 2 defeats out of all the great guys he fought. Beat holyfield when holyfield was still good. Roughed out the win against Mercer who was a beast, beat Tyson, a young peak Shannon Briggs was easily and skilfully slaughtered, the KO of Rahman was a work of art worthy of the British museum, what an incredible boxer. Anyone who says Fury would have beaten Lewis doesn’t know a damn thing about boxing. He’s capable of beating anyone in history. And that’s including Ali. Not saying he would win, but he’d have a great chance. Todays heavyweights like fury don’t know they’re born compared to Lewis’s career. Fury isn’t even defending at all in 2023! How the hell the wbc let him get away with doing whatever he likes and NOT bothering to even talk about a forthcoming defence of THEIR belt is a mystery. When will he ever fight again? Next October? Nearly 2 years out as ‘champion’ for doing nothing at all? He’s an absolute disgrace. A farce. 👍

    • Fair points! Lewis is without doubt in the top 5...his CV says it all beat the best around shame he couldn't add Bowe to his record, we know what happened. He's also a gentleman out of the ring.

    • @@tommackay7433but yet he only had 2 defeats. Lucky shots too but still you can’t take anything away from McCall and Rahman. They did it. Both avenged. When Lewis KO’d Rahman it was one of the best one -twos in heavyweight history. Lewis tried that combo in the 3rd round and both landed but not quite right, and Rahman was alarmed as hell, but Lewis held off until the next round, tried it again, missed, then tried it later in round four and got the most perfect KO of his career. It was a work of art. And the way he smiled at a peak Shannon Briggs as he made him miss 3 shots with his hands down and then decked him was a classic scene when we remember the Great Lennox Lewis. What a shame we have to put up with the likes of Fury these days. Usyk is good but Lewis would’ve handled him I’m sure of it. A 6 foot 4” giant supreme boxer puncher like Lewis was. I’ve no doubt at all that Lewis would beat Usyk. Usyk has never faced any fighter anywhere near Lennox in his career. I like Usyk a lot though. A class guy, great human being. Just as a real champion should be. 💥🥊

    • I can recall reading that in 1983, Lennox Lewis on his way to Canada from Jamaica, stopped at the Cus D amato boxing gym in the Catskills for 2 weeks, while Mike Tyson was there, so Lennox knew Mike. In 1984 Lennox was in the Olympics in Los Angeles Super Heavyweight Division, Lennox lost to Tyrell Biggs, who went on to win the Gold Medal. Now, Mike became the Professional Heavyweight Champion in 1986, and used to constantly challenge anyone to fight him in the ring. Lennox actually is the one that did not take on Mike Tyson. Biggs was chosen over Mike for the Olympics. Mike T when he was World Champ was not afraid of anyone, in fact no one wanted to challenge Mike, including Lennox.
