Had engine oil change for my new Mercedes. Bought one because I get a good discount through the company I work for. 5,4l of the shittiest Mobil brand oil was € 198,--. That same oil probably costs them NO more than € 4-5 per liter when they buy it in bulk in barrels. That alone convinced me to go electric in the future even though I'm not a big fan of it. Paid total € 750,-- for a 2,5 hour job, likely done by some apprentice. Dealerships, especially "premium" ones, run extortion rackets.

If people re-do badging that is only held on by adhesive, it really helps to take measurements of exactly where each character was located. Then some painter's tape can be used to ensure there's a straight line, too. That's how I did them.

Dealerships are thieves, some service cost make sense while others don’t. Example. They wanted to charge me $725 to replace my injectors; it’s a V6 twin turbo; they said it’s $120 to pull out each injector, plus new injectors cost $650; and labor was $150 an hr. It takes 6 hrs to replace them; so $900 plus taxes to a total of $2,300 🤨😵💫🤦🏾♂️ (I looked at this fool, and told him to kiss my bottom, RIDICULOUS!!) my buddy ended up doing it for $250, I got injectors online for $375. Skip the dealer if you can easily do it yourself for cheap!!!!

I learned this after watching my parents try and add a light package to a new car. They wanted 1200$plus tax for fog lights😂. Found all OEM hardware and it cost maybe 300$. Labor wasn't that bad, took about an hour. So almost a grand worth of labor. Nah they got somebody fd up. I realized we are getting robbed so bad from dealers. Why do we even need them. Sometimes I would prep parts for him on weekends, like when a company would ship a chromed part that the standard said should have a matte finish. I would put the part(s) in a glove box, and glass bead them to remove the chrome. I remember a customer sent them a shabby '67 Dino. In a couple of months, it looked like it had just come out of the showroom, brand new. I was speechless. 🤩🤩🤩

The fact that this is put on , the entry level engine which is a Renault based 1.3 with 110 HP, makes the whole thing feel ricey. Edit: Small correction, the engine is a MB developed 1.6, not 1.3, but in the A160 it develops 100 HP stock.

This drill and screw job is going to rust in about 5 years or so, since I didn't see him dip the screws into rust paint and/or silicone before screwing the screws into the new holes. This is why I do this kind of work myself.

Had engine oil change for my new Mercedes. Bought one because I get a good discount through the company I work for. 5,4l of the shittiest Mobil brand oil was € 198,--. That same oil probably costs them NO more than € 4-5 per liter when they buy it in bulk in barrels. That alone convinced me to go electric in the future even though I'm not a big fan of it. Paid total € 750,-- for a 2,5 hour job, likely done by some apprentice. Dealerships, especially "premium" ones, run extortion rackets.

If people re-do badging that is only held on by adhesive, it really helps to take measurements of exactly where each character was located. Then some painter's tape can be used to ensure there's a straight line, too. That's how I did them.

Dealerships are thieves, some service cost make sense while others don’t. Example. They wanted to charge me $725 to replace my injectors; it’s a V6 twin turbo; they said it’s $120 to pull out each injector, plus new injectors cost $650; and labor was $150 an hr. It takes 6 hrs to replace them; so $900 plus taxes to a total of $2,300 🤨😵💫🤦🏾♂️ (I looked at this fool, and told him to kiss my bottom, RIDICULOUS!!) my buddy ended up doing it for $250, I got injectors online for $375. Skip the dealer if you can easily do it yourself for cheap!!!!
Exactly. Last summer, my wife's 4 Runner... dealership wanted $900+ to do just the front brakes. I did all four corners, new rotors & pads, greased all the pins, etc. Less than $400. ( thanks NAPA, lol)

I learned this after watching my parents try and add a light package to a new car. They wanted 1200$plus tax for fog lights😂. Found all OEM hardware and it cost maybe 300$. Labor wasn't that bad, took about an hour. So almost a grand worth of labor. Nah they got somebody fd up. I realized we are getting robbed so bad from dealers. Why do we even need them. We don't let them all fall like a stack of cards.😊 cheers to all

Sometimes I would prep parts for him on weekends, like when a company would ship a chromed part that the standard said should have a matte finish. I would put the part(s) in a glove box, and glass bead them to remove the chrome. I remember a customer sent them a shabby '67 Dino. In a couple of months, it looked like it had just come out of the showroom, brand new. I was speechless. 🤩🤩🤩

The fact that this is put on , the entry level engine which is a Renault based 1.3 with 110 HP, makes the whole thing feel ricey. Edit: Small correction, the engine is a MB developed 1.6, not 1.3, but in the A160 it develops 100 HP stock.

The W176 in the video has a Mercedes-developed 1.6 engine. It's successor has the 1.3, and it is a co-development with Renault, not a pure Renault engine.
