House of Gucci is inspired by the shocking true story of the family behind the Italian fashion empire. When Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel the family legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately…murder.

  • This was a pretty excellent film. It crams a lot, specifically over 30 years of family history into a 2.5-hour film, and gets quite a few minor and major details mixed up, but ultimately, the performances and filmmaking make up for all that noise. Hopefully, like with Suicide Squad or Birds Of Prey, this film will also appeal to younger audiences who won't take it's message the wrong way by identifying with a raging psychopath who conspired in having their spouse murdered, whether or not it seemed jusitified in the first place, as an attempt to reclaim the wealth that they never earned or deserved in the first place. 3.5/5 Edit: yes, Jared Leto was childish and annoying as Paolo, as both of them were/are in actuality, but the real-life Patrizia was ten times worse, and obsessive as the devil himself

  • used to be very skeptical about gaga. the witch gave me only bad and extremely bad associations. couldnt hear or watch her, at all. thats good, because its probably a symptom of dealing with the stardom marvel... and unawares in one of the scenes, she hit a cup of coffee with a spoon and fell head over heels in love with her, 4ever. from now on, wanna watch her when she acts in movies, round and round....

  • This QUEEN took her staff to Italy and against Ridley Scott's wishes, she chose to wear 12-13 wigs instead of 2. This QUEEN spoke in Patrizia's accent for 6 months with everyone she interacted prior to going to Italy. Her attention to detail in every regard was just a part of her usual artistry. She was completely snubbed, but I never like the movies that win awards, anyway...my standards are much higher...

    • @@kissarococo2459 Exactly! I'm "lower class" or working class as is the term and I'm not a social climbing money grabber. Rodolfo saw straight through Patrizia especially when she priced up his house and said it to him. Unfortunately Rodolfo went about telling Maurizio in the wrong way he went straight on the attack and belittled Maurizio whereas if he had sat him down expressed his worries and concern and advised him to wait and think Maurizio may have been open to listening. Rodolfo played right into Patrizia's hands and then went soft when she produced grandchildren someone like her would use her kids as a trump card to tug the heartstrings

  • I don’t understand why they didn’t have actual Italian actors portray the characters!? Most if not all of the, “accents,” sound very forced and fake. Everyone keeps saying, “The father knew all along that she was after his money!” Not exactly something to brag about when his opinion was solely based off of her father owning a trucking company.
