  • I'm a 72 year old guy and I have enjoyed music since I was a toddler. Over the years I have loved many artists and bands, but until 7 years ago when I was first introduced to Dimash on my KZhead feed, I had never ever reacted to any vocalist like I did - and still do. In my opinion, Dimash is not only the most talented vocalist on our planet today, he is one of the most caring, giving and philanthropic! As I said, I have been experiencing Dimash for 7 years and I love and respect him more today than I did then. Dimash, truly, is the personification of an old soul!!! Enjoy your Dimash journey!!! He will NEVER bore you!!!!

  • That instrument is millennial. The kobyz has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. Traditionally kobyzes were sacred instruments, owned by shamans and bakses (traditional spiritual medics). According to legends, the kobyz and its music could banish evil spirits, sickness and death.Kobyz is an Turkic bowed string instrument, spread among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks. I love this sound that can remind me of the wind, the voices of grazing animals, the cold of the highest mountains and the will of a people, it is simply magnificent!

Con Igor Krutoy compusieron Stranger, debido a que cuando se hizo famoso en China tuvo que quedarse 4 años ahí por los compromisos y contratos que le salieron . • Dimash has a rare gift called absolute pitch. It's very rare among vocalists and more common among musicians. His absolute pitch was discovered at a very young age and he has spent most of his life perfecting it. He swims a lot underwater to strengthen his lungs. Dimash sings in many languages and speaks several. He also plays several instruments. He has a Masters in music composition and is working on his PHD. He writes, directs and produces a lot of his material. Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer also composes and writes for Dimash. Dimash is 29 years old, 6'3" and weights about 190lbs. He is a very humble and generous man. He's also a Humanitarian and refers to his fans as "Dears". There is no other like Dimash. ❤

  • Dimash has been studying music since he was 5. He is 6'3. A musical athlete. He does compose some songs. I recommend The Story of One Sky, MV. He composed the music, wrote the script, Acts, and sings. Most of us had to watch it a few times and we had a lot of discussion afterwards. Also, his song "Omir" he composed the music and also the lyrics. It is very beautiful. Please watch the MV first. It is the one that explains the lyrics. Then, after that watch when he sings it with his brother. It is important to watch in that order. ❤

  • "Stranger" was the first of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano and introduced Olzhas Qurmanbeck on the kobyz. Igor Krutoy composed the music, American poetess Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics, and Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan) did the arrangement. Igor Krutoy is quoted as saying, "it was Dimash's talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities, and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don't see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way." In my humble opinion, this is an amazing performance, one of the best to date. Dimash traverses almost 5 octaves (C2-F6) in this performance. That stunning last note is about 19.7 seconds in full mixed voice belt in F#5. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Super Brothers S2" Youku Show that is simply mind-boggling and well worth checking out. Here is the link: kzhead.info/sun/p8ybl8xoqHuploE/bejne.html When Dimash first listened to the melody of "Stranger," he felt that the addition of a kobyz to the musical arrangement would give the song a unique yet very fitting sound. Thus, the kobyz debuted at the New Wave Hall at the Sochi Olympic Park, and what a great choice indeed. It is a beautiful-sounding instrument that underscores the song's deep meaning. This wasn't the first time that Dimash has featured Olzhas Qurmanbeck playing the kobyz. You can also enjoy him in a few of Dimash's other performances, such as Qairan Elim (official music video) and Samaltau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival). For those who are unfamiliar with this instrument, the kobyz, played here by Olzhas Qurmanbeck, is a 5,000-year-old, traditional, sacred instrument in Kazakhstan. The kobyz or Kyl kobyz is the most ancient bowed instrument on earth, widespread among the Turks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. It became the basis for most of today's bowed instruments worldwide, including European instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. The Kyrgyz variant is called Kyl kayak. The instrument is carved from a single piece of wood (typically apricot), juniper (arsha), maple, pine tree, or birch. The instrument consists of three parts: head (base), middle (base is keude), and lower part (ayak) and usually measures 60-70 cm. The resonant cavity is usually covered with goatskin, reproducing a sound representing the animals of the steppe. It has two strings made from horsetail hair, one to provide melody and the other resonance. Someone explained that one string is made with 75 horse hairs and the other with 60 horsehairs. The strings are not pushed down to a fret but are played with pressure applied by either the fingernail or the pad on the finger, and the tones are varied by the pressure of the bow. The bow is shaped like an archer's bow, and its string, made with 40 horse hairs, is tied to both ends of the bent branch and affixed with strong threads of camel wool. The New Wave Music competition started in 2002 and for nearly two decades now, has been one of the most iconic music events in Russia and other parts of the world. It is an international contest for young performers of popular music. It was founded by Russian composer, performer, and music producer Igor Krutoy (seen here playing the piano) and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls. Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva eventually joined as one of the show's organizers. The contest usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days, and the final day when the contest's results are announced, and a final concert is performed. The television audience of the New Wave music competition numbers more than 200 million people. In 2018, Dimash debuted as a guest performer, performing his now legendary rendition of "Sinful Passion." This year (2021), Dimash took part as a guest performer and a judge. 11 participants from 9 countries competed for the grand prize in the finale.

But he has had a great deal of training from a young age, and a spark, a talent that was truly trained to increase, and as I read about him, he always trains, and tries new things in order to increase his talent, and surprise all of us.😊 Great reaction! Dimash turns 30 in May, so the Stranger performance was a few years ago.😊

  • He is so awesome, isn’t he? He will be 30 years old this year in May. May this Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Qobyz for that. The Qobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. In the end of Stranger he introduced him to the audience and he thanked them. As a Kazakh he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range. Please react to Olimpico or also Ogni Pietra from his Arnau concert in 2019 next. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. I swear it is mind-blowing 🤯 kzhead.info/sun/l8-Jg5qsb2anmmw/bejne.html Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

Te sugiero que reacciones a Sinfull Passion, Love is like a Dream, Ave María, Unforgettable day (Versión Gakku). Saludos desde Argentina ❤❤

  • Dimash has performed songs in 17 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Armenian, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian, which is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. According to some analysts, Dimash's range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest, are vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during any live performance. Dimash is said to have "absolute pitch," often called “perfect pitch,” the ability to identify or re-create a given musical note without the benefit of a reference tone; i.e. the ability to hit any note with perfect pitch without any reference or lead in. He sings in multiple musical genres. His primary genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles, and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g., screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, and Tribal and Turkic melismas, which are technically very distinctive and very difficult to master. Dimash plays five instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. I hope that you will explore more of Dimash. If you truly love music, you owe it to yourself.

  • I am glad you were curious enough to continue with Dimash so quickly. This song is interpreted differently by many people. Some see it as a story about immigration, how you step as a stranger onto the new land. You are not confident, many unknowns are ahead. So, he is singing softly at first. As time progresses and you learn many more things about yourself and the new place, you become more confident. Another version is about reincarnation. There are 9 men and 9 women in the choir. The round lit gate is like a passageway to birth.

  • Thank you for your reaction. This is another masterpiece written for Dimash by Igor Krutoy. Mr. Krutoy is a famous Ukrainian/Russian composer/producer who came out of retirement to work with Dimash. The instrument is the kobyz, which is a traditional Kazakh instrument. Dimash features the kobyz in many of his songs as well as the dombra. Dimash plays the dombra.

  • Dimash is around 30 and full of energy. his concerts are more impressive than many of the current singers. Please just follow all the songs and videos he has made. You will not be disappointed. Try The Story of One Sky with a tissue at hand, he puts across the futility of hatred so well in this video. He wrote it, stars in it and sings all the parts to it. Amazing

  • Thank you so much for the great reaction and review. Dimash is phenomenal. He is Stil very young. He will turn 30 on the 24 of May this year. Extremely good looking ( model material ) and highly intelligent. He is currently finishing his Doctorate Degree in Music Composition. He already posses a Masters Degree. He plays several musical instruments and has composed songs ( Check out his last two videos I.e. When I’ve got you and Smoke ). I would suggest you react to Olimpico next . kzhead.info/sun/l8-Jg5qsb2anmmw/bejne.htmlsi=qB_rhktotDA5rDZ4 link to this song provided. He performed this live in his solo concert in Kazakhstan. • Aloha! I only found Dimash like 2 years ago myself, when I caught covid and still in recovery mode. He helped me through that time pretty much. Before him, I never listened to opera type or rap for that matter. Then through him, I found other foreign yet unique artists that ai normally would not be exposed to: Hua Chenyu (Nunchucks), Forestella (Legends Never Die) and So Hyang (I Have Nothing). But Dimash is a once in a lifetime talent and I am so blessed to be living during his time!!! He is an artist that unites us all and really heavy on promoting world peace! I wish to one day attend his concerts and meet other dears; it represents music that has no borders! His voice is an experience that lifts you into another realm/journey! He is the choir, band, special effect with various ethnic colours; only Dimash! Mahalo for your assessment of Dimash and all he brings as an artist! God bless and good luck on growing your channel and delving more into Dimash’s catalog! The man at the piano is the Ukrainian/Russian version of David Foster in the music world. He came out of retirement to work with Dimash!

  • This song, he sang in English actually. Music composed by Igor Krutoy (the guy at the piano). Igor came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. Igor composes and Dimash sings. Imagine the freedom to compose anything and Dimash can sing everything. The 2-string instrument is called a Kobyz. It’s a Kazakh folk instrument. Very haunting sound. The guy who played it is the best kobyz player. Did you catch how long Dimash held that last note? ❤

  • Dimash was 28 here. He now has a birthday coming up and he will be 30, he is giving a very special concert in Istanbul for his birthday. The gourd like instrument is a Kobyz, a traditional classic instrument Dimash loves his country, and tries to incorporate some of its elements and everything he does. I would recommend you listen to Olimpico next!

  • The instrument is a Qobyz, traditional Kazakh instrument and the gentlemen playing it is with Dimash in many performances and he is just excellent. You are going to see Dimash do songs as vocalize, no lyrics at all that will have you feeling goosebumps from head to toe. The same composer who wrote Stranger, Igor Krutoy composed for Dimash his very own version of Ave Maria with no lyrics. It is so incredibly beautiful you will want to check it out. Dimash will be 30 on May 24th.

  • So happy to see you back so soon😎 The little 2 string "violin gourd" is the ancient Kobyz, the ancestor of all stringed instruments. The Hu Band (Mongolian Folk Metal) has a Morin Khuur or horsehead fiddle that looks like a longer slightly more modern version of the Kobyz in their videos. Dimash is a perfectionist. He tends to hire top level people to compose, write lyrics, play in his band and direct. More recently, he is moving to doing a lot of this work himself. Stranger is an original composed by the famous Igor Krutoy (the pianist). Whenever you see Igor at the piano, he composed the music. Because lyrics are in so many different languages, Dimash works with professionals in that language. Writing lyrics in a foreign language, like english, even if you can think in it, is very difficult because you must understand the culture as well. Any song is a good choice, even if fans prefer a different version, .... except any video by "World's Best" . Badly chopped and due to RuPaul's disrespect of Dimash, it is a sore spot with fans.☹️ Great reaction to Stranger👍 🥰🥰Hugs from Canada🇨🇦.

  • Thank you for your review and reaction to Diimash....You wouldn't have heard of him because of the radio stations in North America do not recognize him as he is not signed with a major record company. He is famous in Europe, Asia, especially China. I first heard him on UTUBE at lunchtime. It was the beginning of Covid...I lived alone and was one of two working at our company office. We both volunteered. I was feeling 'blue' and came across SOS (the original version). Truthfully, I started to cry not just at his amazing voice but the emotion he conveyed in that song. It was like a gift telling me that everything would be O.K. This kid has an amazing range...2 other suggestions...Olympico, if you don't mind opera and Ikanaide... a tribute to a Japanese artist. Enjoy. 😊

Te recomiendo mi favorita: Love is like a dream, también de Igor Krutoy.

  • This song is all about immigration. The lyrics,,, check out the spiraled fingerprint behind Dimash, when he first begins to sing. He's TALL, too.,.,.. just so you know. If Igor is at the piano, he's the one who composed the song. But Dimash collaborates with him, alot. They have made a GREAT pair, with a number of songs.

  • If you want to see some original pieces written by Dimash (and usually lyrics by someone else), then I suggest you look at most of his latest videos - Weekend, When I've Got You and Smoke. He did mostly covers for years and years with some of his own mixed in, but he's now doing more of his own pieces in his big concerts. He also has some stunning songs in his native language, Kazakh. Thanks for the reaction!
