Vocal Coach REACTION & ANALYSIS 🎧 Dimash 🎙️ Diva Dance (LIVE) 🎶

2024 ж. 24 Мам.

In a detailed vocal analysis by Dr Dan at Voice Essentials, he commends Dimash's rendition of "The Diva Dance" from the film "The Fifth Element," highlighting its extraordinary technical challenge and Dimash's exceptional skill in executing the piece. Dr Dan points out the complexity of the performance, which transitions from classical to a rock/pop idiom, requiring impeccable vocal control and range. He notes that while other artists have attempted the piece, none have matched Dimash's proficiency, particularly in hitting the dead centre of each note and managing the extensive vocal range required.
Dr Dan marvels at the technical prowess displayed, asserting that such a performance demonstrates a high level of vocal technicality and dedication. This analysis underscores Dr Dan's respect for Dimash's talent and the difficulty of the piece while inviting viewers to appreciate the technical aspects of vocal performance.

⚠️ As a singing voice specialist, I fully acknowledge that each live performance is a snapshot in time and does not encapsulate the entire spectrum of an artist's work, nor can it predict their future evolution. I understand that a myriad of factors, both positive and negative, can influence the delivery of a live performance. I strive to appreciate and critique each live rendition for its own merits, independent of the artist's past or potential future performances. Recognising the ebb and flow of live music, I value its spontaneity, novelty, and individuality and strive to give it the thoughtful consideration it deserves.

  • Dimash has absolute pitch, they discovered it when he was a child. The people that did the Fifth Element movie created this music using some computer generated notes, as they thought no human was capable of singing them - then Dimash came along and proved them wrong.

    • i dont think its fair to show this version then, as its been touched up in the studio for certain. But, his rendition from the Singer competition is 100% live and a great display of what Dimash is capable of (nearly the same as the bastau version, but without the super robotic "impossible" run)

    • @@yugiohlegend I wasn’t inferring that Dimash was singing a doctored vocal, but the composers of the song in the original film inserted synthetic notes they thought no one could sing, but Dimash can sing it with his natural voice and does it live. I don’t know why the film composers thought this, as Dimash’s highest note is a D8 and there’s people who can sing higher, there’s a female singer in South America can sing a G10. As Dimash has absolute pitch he can never sing a dud note, does not need autotune or pitch correction like many other singers.

      @Sisterfifi@Sisterfifi22 күн бұрын
    • Dimash has perfect pitch, not absolute pitch. Absolute pitch is when you can find any pitch with a reference note, which is not needed for perfect pitch.

    • He serves himself not the song. Bad mindset. People always say "look at the singer" never pays attention to the song when he sings. Very often the meaning, purpose and lyrics of the song he is singing don't require him to do all he does in that particular song. Gratuitous and pretentious. That's why he is not admired by the great artists in the biz unlike past musical icons.

He mixes in some Kazakh musicians and dancers as filler usually once in a concert, but for the rest of THE THREE HOURS, it's just him! It's totally amazing how he can give 110% for that long in a concert.

  • More than once I have heard Dimash refer to singing as a sport. A sport that requires constant training & discipline to continue to perform. He still does vocal training for 3-5 hours daily. I am more partial to Dimash's lower register like when he sang Sinful Passion, and Love Is Like A Dream. I don't know if you have, but, I hope you will react to his performances of Unforgettable Day and All By Myself on The Singer 2017. Most people like the Gakku version of Unforgettable Day because of the D8 note he hits. In Singer's version, he really put more passion into the song. I would love to hear what you think about it. I do appreciate your comments because they help me to understand the mechanisms of Dimash's singing capabilities.

  • Dr Dan, I would highly recommend that you see and react to Daybreak in this same concert. If you look it up make sure you read about the background, a true story of a tragedy in China. I would respectfully submit that if Dimash had every vocal tool that he has honed for hours over his years of training, I would be disinclined to believe that those skill sets, in fact, even existed and amounted to mere unsubstantiated hearsay or empty hype. I would also feel some sense of being denied great listening wonderment if it turned out to be true. Showing off is a term which becomes a narrative thrown around that not only doesn't fit but also is injurious to the character and professional reputation of the musician himself. What Dimash does is give his very best, all of it, for the musical thrill ride of all time. All of that said, I thank you for reviewing this all too short demonstration of great vocal skill. In the past,you have put yourself out there and stood graciously under stress. The Dears sometimes show the teeth of wolverines when rubbed the wrong way.😅 Forgive us please and keep looking at Dimash. I have no doubts that we will all end up on the same page in greater and greater degrees!😊

Mr Li is a master of the "nandan" roles (males singing as females), The performance is from the Spring Festival in China, filmed during a break for Dimash from the I Am A Singer in 2017. It's a mash-up of the classical Chinese Opera piece "Drunken Concubine" and "The Diva Dance". Truly, this arrangement and performance will blow your mind! kzhead.info/sun/naerfrqZj3V4Y6M/bejne.html

Here he sings also the classical aria before, though in tenor voice. But to my ear the Diva Dance part sounds exactly the same as this performance. This song is so demanding on your voice that you wouldn't want to sing this live at a 3h concert. So in my view there is pre-redorded version from 2016 that he used several times in various concerts. A matter of performance economy.

    • @@marane-hand There are no differences here. The Diva Dance part is completely identical. Also: just because Dimash sometimes uses prerecorded tracks, especially for demanding pieces so as to protect his voice, doesn't mean that he can't sing live. We all know that Dimash sings live better than many other people do in the studio. But he does use playback whenever he wants to.
