    @Michael-vw4cg@Michael-vw4cg8 ай бұрын
    • if you are getting punched on the ground, it is widely accepted that the only intelligent defensive transition is to your back... to give up your back. Aljo did that showing he understood what position he has in and what he had to do and he demonstrated clarity and focus to do that so he was not knocked out senseless in that moment. THe moment he did give up his back though they called the fight. WHat was supposed to happen was Suga could have taken his back or continued to punch but neither was allowed. I think the stoppage was premature given ALjo gave up his back which fighters have done time and again that's why the rear naked choke is such a common win strategy because people get punched on the ground and give up their back. ALjo was not allowed the same courtesy.

      @rickdangerous5606@rickdangerous56068 ай бұрын

      @zampy8706@zampy87068 ай бұрын
    • @@zampy8706 You really don't understand fighting in anything other than textbook ideal conditions is my guess. So many fighters give up their back and they do NOT do it by accident but instead as a trade off. Giving up your back IS a good decision if you laying on your back getting face punched. No one is saying giving up your back IS a good position, I'm saying at times it IS the right decision. And furthermore I'm saying the fact ALJO knew where he was and had the capacity to get off his back and give up his back in a transition while getting punched shows me at least he was willing to give his back intelligently to see if he can bait SS to take it and turn it into a wrestling match instead of a 1 way face punch fest... and so... WHY WAS THE FIGHT CALLED. Giving up your back in this case IS INTELLIGENT DEFENSE. How can ALJO throw a punch in that position he can't, so sure he wasn't showing aggression BUT he WAS intelligently defending himself and it was an incorrect early stoppage. If you've ever seen a Rory fight then you'd understand what an early stoppage probably SHOULD look like... not this.

They might show the lead up to the finish, they might show the aftermath, they might even show some poor alternate view of it, but they try to keep a tight lid on the finish for at least a week. Yet with this TKO, they blasted it on social media.

  • An early stoppage where at minimum 17 clean shots landed on aljos head and face. I'm not counting the ones that bounced off his chest or shoulder either. Aljo was rocked and for an elite wrestler he was so out of it he was unable to even get to a leg to slow down the beating. Imo was perfect anymore unanswered bombs banging his head off the canvas isnt needed

  • I never understand the Early stoppage idea when the other dude is just taking undefended shots to the head..... And Sean was just picking shots he wasn't going to stop punching dude in the head.... Ref saves Aljo from a worst concussion so maybe he can go enjoy his paycheck. O'Malley made Aljo rich-rich.... He would've been on an Apex card, making 250k vs Millions? At least a million thanks to Sean

  • I've been a Suga Sean fan unwavering since his contender series introduction. Not that I'm special but just shy one round, I predicted the finishing sequence in it's entirety. From Aljo over committing becoming frustrated not being able to get a hold of Sean in the big octagon to the step back right hand knock out & if Aljo wouldn't have seen that shot coming last second he would have been separated from his consciousness. Anyone who fcks with Sean knew it was his time and that he %100 was going to knock Aljo out regardless!
