    • Not really. Him "saving" worlds by brutally murdering at least half of the population puts him no better than the whole Deviants/Eternals/Celestilas created conflict (which was specifically pointed out to be in a morally grey area) or the Celestials' parasitism of entire planets of sentient beings (because that's what it truly is once you strip away the mysticism and the whole god idea--they create life and galaxies and planets, yes, but those planets are often used to incubate the next generation of Celestials, making their actions very self-serving, and the way said unborn Celestials leech off of the "energy of sentient beings" before violently bursting out and destroying the host planet is 100% parasitic, and very similar to that wasp that lays it's eggs inside tarantulas). Plus, his solution is very temporary, eventually the population will start to climb again.

  • I always felt that, when watching Eternals, I thought that the movie isn't meant to be a showstopper, but a "plot glue" that would make better sense once everything else comes together. Reminds me of the "slow tracks" in a great album: yeah, it's not a hit, but it's not meant to be a hit. It is more of a palate cleanser.

Looking over how the MCU is playing out with the introduction of celestials, venom in the MCU, and Gorr the GodButcher, I think Knull is going to come sooner than Kang the conqueror. I am kind of hoping that MCU does two separate story archs that lead to both these villains, which will ultimately build up to someone huge like Galactus or Annailis or Doctor Doom or someone else. • I mean - I feel like Thanos not mentioning the Celestials was so he didn't get stomped BY the Celestials. After all, we saw at the end of Eternals that the Celestials can just roll up on a planet and effortlessly 'yoink' people if they interfere in Celestial business. So Thanos indirectly sabotaging the Celestials without directly targeting them seems very on-point. Would also explain why he's so frustrated about people not perceiving his grand vision, because he is trying to use incomplete data to get them to understand.

  • I can buy the first premise of the theory. That Thanos saved the Earth when the snapped occurred and the Celestial couldn't be fed. But the rest is reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally far fetched. 1/ If Thanos wanted to prevent planet from dying because of Celestials... why not using the snap to have Celestials disappearing instead of reducing population by half ? Moreover in Endgame, he "destroys" the Stones, which means that when the planets are getting populated again and the "baby Celestials" are ready to be born, there will be no way to prevent that... Which makes it pretty useless. 2/ A Celestial breaking Titans to be born would leave more damage to the planet that just a deviation of 7 degrees from its axis in my opinion. What could do that however, is a massive war using very advanced technology over the last resources of the planet. 3/ The "vision" thing doesn't work either. Because if Titans would have been destroyed by a Celestial coming from the center of the planet... then why would Thanos think the planet had been destroyed because of a lack of resources ? Assuming he foresaw the apocalypse of his planet, and got kickout by the other Titans and called a "mad man", why would he think the apocalypse happened because of a lack of resources ?

    • i just saw the eternals 2 days ago... Idk why, i liked that movie too, but I think it was not the biggest hole in the story. For example: These eternals exist since millions of years right? traveling between worlds in our universe. And Arisham made human eternals millions of years before even humans evolved. (almost all of them are human as we saw in the movie in the arisham's "eternal storage" :D except mabye Thanos.. but as we know he is not really original eternal, becasue he is a "son" of an eternal, what is kind of impossible couse they are kind of "biomachines" or wahtever) And what an accident... a life evolved look like just eternals what arisham made... I would like that idea Arisham makes eternals face, skin and kind of "shape"less and they get their face, skin and shape when they are sent to the world where they have to work on. Becasue we saw scenes when they were working on other planets in the same human shape but helping some alien race. :D this is what bothers me and other plotholes as well... but lets just discuss this, i hope did not couse brain cancer to you with my english :D

But there's a problem, a bee takes up about 20 mm of surface space, and the underside of a plane only has room for 13,000,000 bees. You'd need the area of 256 planes for bees to carry 1 plane. @jamesbizs@jamesbizs2 жыл бұрын
    • @@jamesbizs you don't actually get it. Humanity creates comfort for itself at the expense of the planet's longevity. Why? Because we create things and culture that breaks the cycle of life and death as it should be in this planet. Like burial. Our bodies at the end of our existence should be given to the earth. By that I mean the energy. We should become a part of the earth when we perish. But we create ideas like burial where we bury our love ones inside a tomb or a casket entombed by cement. Where the earth cannot harvest our energy to bring new life. Humanity creates comfort "resources" by destroying or modifying natural resources but the outcome would be an object that cannot be reversed and be harvested by the planet. Hence, in due time, will result into the depletion of a planet's resource.

The flashback stuff should have been its own movie where there would have been time to flesh out all of the characters, and it could have ended with them going there separate ways. Then the second movie could have been all of the modern day stuff, and instead of having to do a bunch of character introductions and backstory, it would have had time to deal with all of the revelations they make while trying to deal with The Emergence. The problem is that it's half of each of those movies, and they don't stitch cleanly together into one whole good movie.

At one point, Tiamut asked the Fulcrum to spare Earth as he had grown to love it. Assuming the flow of energy from Tiamut to Sersi at the end of Eternals was voluntary, that could mean that Tiamut in the MCU had grown to love the planet he was incubated in and allowed Sersi to save Earth.
