Hey guys!
This is the second part of my Iden Versio cosplay videos. You'll find #1 here: • E-11 Imperial Blaster ...
In this part of my video collaboration with Electronic Arts, I'm showing you how I made the flight suit and the Inferno Squad armor for my Iden Versio costume (she is the protagonist from the single player campaign in EA Star Wars Battlefront 2). I’m trying to keep the costs low and work only with basic tools and materials for this project. So far I've spent around 40$ in total for this part (not counting the boots). I mainly used black heavy jeans fabric for the suit and high density EVA foam for the armor. More in the video!
Have fun crafting!
-Svetlana

she's a special kind of adorably crazy.
traveling47 I was thinking the same thing...wonder if it’s an act...don’t change if it is...and either way...it’s a kinda goofy fun we need...life is way to stressful...
@@daynakennedy8969 It is definitely not an act, she really is that goofy on or off camera. Pretty good friend for better part of a decade and counting.
@@daynakennedy8969 her English isn't that good, she has to take several takes to sound intelligible. the enthusiasm is her actually having fun whilst leaning and speaking her non-native language
When you said you spent about $60 I almost choked like omg. Though part of the reason why I spend a lot on cosplay is because I need to rebuy materials a lot. One day I’ll hit that
yeah, when I think about how much some costumes cost to put together/commission, this is a bargain ( even if labor/time isn't included in the price )- and it looks fantastic too.
Yeah, it's literally just a bit of fabric and some foam + colors. This is not counting the work hours of course. When I was doing a lot of Worbla costumes, the materials went way over budget but with foam it's actually really affordable.
Keep in mind that commissioners have to charge for research, experiments, work hours and all that extra stuff too. The material costs are always the smallest part in this equation.
And their serger, and sewing machine, and airbush materials, and heat gun, and glue, and foam, and blades, and plasti-dip, and paints, and fabrics, and electricity, and... and... and... =) Great work on the costume!
Omg since I am a dud when it comes to building things, I have to just flat-out buy a prebuilt get up, which is hella expensive... sighhhh
Was feeling super depressed today and just hearing your voice and watching you create has lifted my spirits! Thank you!
Glad if my videos could life your spirits. x-)
Perkiest Trooper Ever 😂❤

Your work on this is absolutely amazing! I love that you were able to show that you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars and have complicated equipment to make such a beautiful piece. I can honestly say as a member of the 501st that your armor is better than mine. You have inspired me to try to recreate my own armor this way and will be purchasing your books to help with that. I always look forward to your videos.
Glad you like it! I would be careful with the legion though as they might not approve a foam costume ;) better ask first
KamuiCosplay I wouldn't try to do it for approval. Mainly just to see if I could. I have plenty of approved costumes. :)
I must say that I really admire you did all the sewing yourself, not going the easy path with your everyday clothes. Salute to both of you as the costume looks great! Keep up the good work!
I'm working on my first cosplay and I really really needed this today. Thank you very much for uploading!
Glad if I can help!
Awesome job! I'm always surprised that you actually get stuff done instead of cuddling with those Corgis 24/7.
Me too...
"Resistance... rebellion... defiance... these are concepts that cannot be allowed to persist. You are but one of many tools by which these ideas shall be burned away." --Our Emperor Amazing work! I love it! Long live the Empire! ;)
The magnets were a brilliant idea 😍
Thanks! :) Magnets are magical!
Love love love it! Any one of your videos makes me smile. Thank you, friend!
Just purchased your book from Humble Bundle, my daughter is loving it! Keep up the good work.
I am very impressed, you make it look so easy to do.
I love the background of your shop, it's like Ironman's workshop with your costumes instead of his armor. Cool cool!
I have been watching a lot of your videos while under quarantine and you are so talented it's not funny! I'm really impressed with your sewing skills also!
You weren’t expecting special forces! Loved the video, looks amazing 😍
Your dogs are literally the embodiment of cuteness
Thanks again for all your tutorials videos 🙏 you are a big help to me!!
Amazing work!!!! I'm really glad you showed us how to use the EVA foam in a lot of detail because I will hopefully be using a lot of it for my next costume. P.S. I bought one of your books. I LOVE IT!!!
Glad you like it! ❤️
YESSSSSSSS! I'm so happy to see you making this! Very interesting, watching you make something different. Wonderful work!
Everyday something new. .)
I literally thought 5 minutes ago "hmm, I wonder when Kamui Cosplay will upload another video?"
TODAY IS THE DAY!
This is gonna be so helpful for my Iden build
Always amazes me the extra equipment you have to be able to turn out such great looking gear (laser cutter, embroidery machine, etc). Those items alone cost more than the materials used to craft the costume. If you have the opportunity, invest in a vac-u-form machine. That way you could use your foam pieces as a template and get one solid piece of chest armor (plus you don't have to worry about ever damaging the foam, and always have it as a back up).
Looks amazing, loved her character (despite being disappointed with Battlefront 2), your suit looks great!
ahh this is amazing, you're so cool! I'd really love to get into cosplay when I'm finished with exams but as yet I'll just watch videos 😂
The holster being on the left makes perfect sense because the gun used to make the E-11 Blaster was a British Sterling which had the magazine sticking out of the left side, as you know when you made yours. Well you can't have a right side holster with a left side magazine sticking out.
You are an incredible artist.
I'm so blown away how you do this magic!
Magic = experience ;)
Amazing!!! So beautiful !!! Congrats
Always Incredible ! I'm so impatient for the next video !!😁
Coming coming! xD
i think you are the most enthusiastic and happy person on youtube, love it! :D
WHAAAAAAT? :D
I've been waiting for this video. I absolutely love this!!
Glad you like it!
You are very talented, impresive and youre fun to watch
OMG YOU ARE A FREAKING LEGEND ARE YOUR VIDEOS ARE AMAZING. Maybe one day I'll get as good as you and be able to make videos like this. Your work is INCREDIBLE!!!!
Thanks! :)
for someone who didn't study any sewing you did a very good job! I love how you experiment with patterns and sewing! And I'm a seamstress myself :D
It's all just trial and error for me (mostly error) but I'm getting better slowly!
It's a good approach! The fact that your items don't pull in any part means you're doing good! Keep up the good work! I'm a big fan of your cosplays and books! (bought many of course ;D)
Wow Love your Iden Versio Cosplay! It totally Rocks! :) am big fan of Iden in SW Battlefront 2 too, just hit her Max Level 40 in Multiplayer :D Looking forward to your helmet video too! cheers from sunny Singapore
i just love your videos :´D just got one of your cosplay books and doing my Life Is Feudal Cosplay
Hahahahah I love your videos, just the right amount if commic highlights. Costume is awesome!!!
amazing work as always
11:30 Corgi was not impressed. Corgi was like, " Imma chew that vest later." 😂
LOL, very funny.....
Wow. Amazing work.
This is a really good video, I am going to be making a tie fighter pilot costume soon and I will be using this video a lot for reference and tips. I also have that same pattern from Mcall's lol
Hope it will help you then! :)
I am hoping to build an AT AT Driver very similar to both these helmet is almost done now just more adjustments to do to make it wearable
Looks great!
Omg that’s incredible!! Great job! My gosh, I wish I could pull stuff like that off. This looks totally legitimate! Got a new sub from me!! :)
7:55 - The holster has to be on the left side, because blaster's magazine sticks out to the left side. Awkward, but necessary.
only issue is if your a right handed person like I am then well yea
@@jonathanspangenberg114 Ever notice how many stormtroopers are left handed in ANH?
There is actually a better solution for the magazine, and one found WITHIN history. A reverse holster. A lot of Civil War officers had a holster where the butt of the gun faced forward rather than backward. This meant that the grip was on the correct side of the body, but you would have to turn your hand around (palm outward) to draw the firearm. I know it sounds wacky, byut it's actually a fairly easy draw, and MUCH faster than drawing awkwardly from the wrong side of the body and switching hands. I know, that's not what they did. Just makes me wonder, with the historical precedent, and the issue of the magazine, WHY NOT!?
@@jonathanspangenberg114 well I am actually left handed so it does work for me
Loved it, Iden has become my 2nd fav character in the Star Wars franchise even despite the hate Battlefront 2 has gotten. I do hope you plan to add in Droid and her TL-50 to complete it as a whole.
I like her too. Yeah I think all the negativity came due to the how the multiplayer was handled but I think it's actually great that they offered a single player campaign (I'm more into Single Player anyway).
Hey ! The costume looks amazing, and so does the helmet ! I'm glad you didn't give up, even when you explained how challenging it was. It looks fantastic ! I have a small question though ; my sewing and embrodery machine died a few days ago and I want to replace it so I was wondering what machine you're using, it looks great ! Thanks a lot :)
Thanks! Yeah the helmet turned out great I think. Really proud I was able to pull through. We have a Brother Innov-is V3 and really like it a lot.
That helmet is sick!
Yay I knew Wideo! I probably got more excited about that than I should have.… Keep up the great work!
A NIOU WIDEAU!
Love your work and your accent. Also Benny is a super talented and lucky man. =)
Your puppy is a scene stealer!
First time viewer, amazing work! Well done.
Thanks!
Love your quirkiness!
Love you guys
Love all your vids😁😁❤️ Was wondering if you could make a vid about how to make a torso manikin as I have been creating armour and am trying to find a good tutorial If you could that would be great, if not it doesn’t really matter.😁😁😋 Thanks😁
Sheer awesomeness !!!
My favorite so far.
Girl you’re killing me. I got really excited because I thought you’d break away from your typical tools. I love your costumes and videos, but you definitely didn’t create a cheap costume. Airbrush machine, computer and printer for patterns, embroidery machine... I know they all have alternatives but I wish you would have used the alternatives as a bit of a challenge this time. But, you’re still the premier cosplayer and you’ve definitely created another breathtaking costume
Thanks a lot for your feedback and your kind words. However I assume that everybody owns a computer and a printer or can at least borrow one. You'll get a good airbrush already for 80$, which less money than you would have to spent for a good sewing machine. Additionally you surely can totally just use a brush. And as I mentioned in the comments, you can totally buy the patches online. The fancy tools I've mentioned are my 3D printer, laser cutter or vacuum forming machine and I didn't used any of them. :)
Brilliant. Can the quickseal be used on 3d printer pla? It looks like it might be good for smoothing? I’ve never seen it in the uk. Great video thanks
That looks fantastic, as always😊😊😊😊
Thank you!
this is such a beautiful costume and you look so pretth in it
Thank you!
Good job on the outfit, Svetlana. I think the holster is on her left side because the gun's magazine protrudes on the left. It would have poked into her thigh if the holster is on the right. That helmet looks cool, though.
You are right. It's just hard to get the blaster out with the other hand, haha. Helmet will be in the next video. :)
She could also be ambidextrous ;) lol
KamuiCosplay maybe its on the left so she can grab it with her right hand more easily? (without armor this seems to work for me^^)
Stormtoopers have their guns on the left hand side as well, it's because of the magazine indeed. Those english Sterling submachine guns were never intended to be held in a holster.
Wow! Good Job!
very impressive. what a talent
Just amazing!!! :o
Awesome tutorial !!!
Unglaublich toll! Freu mich auch schon auf den Helm :D
bald bald!
It's a great idea. I like it.
Wow. Fantastic.
Awesome! Respect
Fantastic!!!
The Dog is so sweeet, Ilove it ❤️🥰
I would love to see you do a Mandalorian Cosplay!!
Wow amazing !!!
Liquid chrome is a new paint marker. As the name suggest it is a chrome paint. Not just any chrome paint. Would really like to see if you can use it on foam. Chrome plated foam rubber just sounds amazing if you guys can pull that off. Check it out .
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
this is awsome!!
I’m not a huge Star Wars fan... but this makes me love it
Awesome video. Can’t wait for the helmet tutorial.
Coming soon!
Awesome!!
Hey! Really awesome video as always! Maybe you could do things from the league of legends universe as well! Anyway, keep up the great work!
I like you. You are a positive person. Cheers from Poland ^^
Nice..! good work Greetings from Bolivia
Well done thats such an awesome costume !! :) funniest i am your father yet hahaha ....keep it up!
Always awesome and amazing work you do. “I am Your Father” LoL
❤️
You amazed me with your creativity! Suscribed! :D Keep on with your great work.
Thank you
I love the way you make the costume very nice love it :-)
Thank you!
You should do a video wearing the cosplay in the convention it would have a lot of views and more people will discover you amazing work
Thanks for the suggestion but convention vlogs are not very interesting to me! ԅ(≖‿≖ԅ)
KamuiCosplay well i love your videos anyway jajaja continue doing them
I want to know the brand of chipper juice she drank lol...Nice costumes!
I'm just high on corgi hair.
Wonderfull it’s video like this that makes the internet usefull well done.
i like the straps but trying to figure out what you used for the half ridges. Is that Foam or rubber?
Super! Was ich mich schon seit längerem frage ist, welche Stärke du beim Dremel Aufsatz benutzt?
Amazing job as always. I'm impressed you only spent 60$ on the entire costume
Just a bit of fabric and foam. Not that expensive. :)
So, it is not the materials that are expensive but the many hours of labor spent if you are commissioning someone to manufacture a piece. Many years ago I had someone make me an Admiral Kirk costume from Wrath of Khan. I bought the mats and paid her 100 dollars to sew the jacket. There were no instructions but only a pattern and she enjoyed the challenge. It actually turned out fairly nice and I received lots of positive comments at the Trek convention as I even resemble Shatner a little........
Recently im top 1 but your right tho. Im gonna figure it out thx
I'm so impressed. U two rock !!! :)
Thank you!
I am Batman had me laughing so hard
union 3476 me too. I am laying here beside my sleeping husband and snorted so loud I woke him up. :)
One word. Blasphemy
I love how your fabrics is full of dog fur
Nooooo you see it! Stupid high definition!
KamuiCosplay I got a white frenchie and a grey cat, their fur is everywhere... I sew, glue and paint it regulary to my cosplay :P maybe I am not the only one
Will they be making one for Janina Gavankar like the flight helmet that Tested made for her that video was lovely her reaction was so over the top
She already has a helmet! x-) So I'm making this one just for myself.
A helmet but no flight suit, so she would definitely be in the market for one, how many hours does this kind of work take clearly not as long as that amazing monster hunter costume that you guys made but well beyond the average person PS youtube keeps turning off notifications from your channel
Where did you get the Mannikin's to display your other costume? I'm trying to shop around to display my stuff as well
Very very nice
