This may sound really silly but when you play Vader Immortal on the Oculus Quest 2 VR, the first time you see Vader, he TOWERS above you! It's seriously intimidating! The dude is HUGE!

The fact that the person in the costume is a tall, well-build person just makes this cosplay so amazing. Darth Vader in every depiction is not just threatening with his mask, voice and the fact he's Darth Vader, but also because he had just this sheer physically imposing presence

Everyone knows it’s cosplay, everyone knows it’s just for fun, but dang the respect he gets when he walks around. A true telling of a powerful legacy left by a character.

It's probably a combination of everyone knowing who Darth Vader is, even if they never watched the movies, and his HUGE height
they prob also respected the effort he put into the cosplay it looked just like the suit that that actor who played vador used

The actual Darth Vader was about 6'8 but I love how he is almost 7 foot so even the tall guys can feel the intimidation of the most powerful sith.

It's always amazing to see when the cosplayer actually physically suits the character. The fact that this man is a giant looming over everyone in their presence is so cool and makes the character terrifying presence come to life.

@ Nahh, instead in reality tall individuals don't know how to fight couse no one's even dared to fight them in the first place and second their reaction speed is slow and slow fighting movement and not to mention that their huge figure is very difficult to move so yeah pretty easy target to attack in any combat or War and I don't know how a heavy target can survive in forest, desert, tropical island in any Survival situation it's very bad news for big individuals in this situation.

its really good they got someone really tall to cosplay as him, that really adds to the imposing nature of him, just walking around, standing over everyone else. That is quite the sight.

To this day, still one of the most epic sci-fi characters of all time.
The fact that he's an absolute unit makes it so much more believable and accurate to the character. Because Vader's stature is supposed to be massive as he towers over people 👍🏼

Such a wonderful person, stopping and taking pictures.
Something I don't think is talked about is how large Anakin was before he became Vader. He was a chiseled 6'2-3" son of a slave, born and bred to work until he died. His body wasn't even fully developed by the time he became Vader. It makes sense that with the cybernetics he would be roughly 7ft and brutally strong even without the force.

IRL costumes are difficult to pull off, because we are used to seeing them in films wherein the lighting, camera angles, etc are precisely controlled. This Vader costume was definitely as good as it is possible to be in such a venue.
The Star Wars films been out long enough for people to study the costumes
@@fentanaly That isn't my point. I'm just saying that even the best costume can look kind of cheesy when IRL, because without controlled angles and lighting all their flaws become apparent. As an example, I saw the actual screen used Vader costume in a museum exhibition many years ago. Up close, it looked terrible. They only built it to look good enough on camera. In an IRL setting it would have looked terrible....nowhere near as good as the one worn in this video.
I agree. I see Cosplay as cringeworthy fit the most part, but this is just top notch.
I HAVE TO SAY yup his costume is excellent - even the lights blink on the chest thing.
I don't want to lie but, if my memory is correct, in 83-84 they said Vader's costume - worn by Dave Prowse, RIP - weighted about 15 kg.

That feels oddly generous for Disney. I imagine that either means the suit needed replacing anyway or the suit is tailor made for the performer so it's not like they can just hand it to the new guy.

The thing I love about Darth Vader is that almost everyone recognizes him and is like “Omg it’s Darth Vader!”. If you look through the entire video you can see many people doing that and getting wide eyed. He’s on a totally different level as a popular character Edit: That’s also a great cosplay, a very nice job on the costume.

This was most impressive. I've met some of the best Darth Vader cosplayers but this one is super amazing. I think I might seen him at the Birmingham NEC Comic Con in my Undertaker cosplay many times but regardless it's always an honour to meet Vader since he is my number 1 Star Wars character and my fave sith lord.
Its amazing to see peoples reactions. As someone who loves Star Wars I couldn't even begin to explain to amount of excitement I'd see if I saw Vader walking around.

Thanks for Watching and Thanks for the kind words! It’s been about a 15 year journey building my Vader costume. I got all the different components from very talented vendors on ebay or the Darth Vader costuming groups on FB. I have spent well over $5k and countless hours tweaking it.

That’s one of the things I love about sci-fi cons. Ur accepted no matter who u r or what ur life is. Everyone is equal, wheelchair, cane or not. Overweight, thin, whatever. All r equal.
So crazy how there's costumes much more unique than Vader's however this Vader is like King here.
Many are unique but few are as iconic

The fact that the man in the suit is 6’7 naturally and like 7 feet with the suit on makes this so much better

@@poolee77 string bean is likely taller than Vader. Means he's got more room to pack on mass. Which would mean at equal muscle levels string bean would be a monster compared to the Vader dude. And would look even better as Vader as with the boots to boost height he'd literally tower over everyone

THIS is what a Vader cosplay should be. The overall size of the person inside the suit is really befitting of the character. You can see people reacting to the sheer power of Vader just from his size alone. Well done!!!!
Making a good cosplay requires having a physique according to the character you want to replicate. Unfortunately too many people are unable to accept this simple truth.
@@brago900 That’s not necessarily true. While it would have never worked if he was 5’9, a good cosplay doesn’t have to be limited by your height. Teenagers and shorter adults pull off cosplay all the time, it’s just Darth Vader is not the kind of character that’s easy to pull off while being on the shorter side.
