GV80 is so 🔥 gorgeous 😍
Well articulated and explained. Informative as always!
Great video!!! I've had 2 MDXs (2006 Tech and 2011 Tech & Ent.) with very few issues. I'm looking into the 2022 Tech Edition.
I own an MDX 2008, still in good condition, love it!
1) Acura MDX 2) Genesis GV80 3) Lexus RX 4) Lexus GX460 5) Infiniti QX60 Surprised no Germans on this list.
Genesis ahead of Lexus? You must be on crack
Gv80 best👍🏻
Because those German suvs are priced significantly higher than this list. As I experienced, BMW, Audi also performers a lot better than this list. But not as reliable after 5 years though.
@@xpj1998 Fair point.
I agree it is subjective. But German cars are called endless money pits for a reason.
These are right up my alley! Best in class..value for money..built to last..low maintenance..whip appeal..daily drivers..all wheel drives...etc!!!!!!💯💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🇯🇲
2022 Acura MDX is a beautiful thing. I cant wait to see the type S version and what it will do.
I have had a few MDX's and my current one is coming end of lease. I've considered going to an X5 or GV80 but I keep coming back to value for dollar and it's hard to move away from the MDX. Going to be pre-ordering the Type-S soon
Great review! I own a 2011 Acura MDX, and still running strong 12 years later with 180k miles on it. No major issues. I did get a 2023 Tesla Y for our city car and love it so far. Will most likely downsize to a RDX as the MDX is so much bigger now.
Nice review! I have the 2021 Lexus RX 350 in atomic silver and I love it!!!! My bottom line was reliability and resale value as mentioned as well. You can’t go wrong with most Lexus models. ❤️
Only buy Lexus cars anymore...
Love Genesis! Looking at the MDX Type S now.
Great video. Thank you!
Thanks for the great review! Proud owner of 2012 MDX. Never had any issue with the car during 10 year ownership. Plan to get the 2022 Type - S version for my wife soon.
Same here!!! How hard is it to find a new one with this craziness happening now with the prices and availability?
I have own the two Lexuses (Lexi) in this video. Planning to go electric soon
Thank you. Ordered 2023 MDX, first luxury vehicle for me. Checked Volvo, Lexus, bmw, Mercedes, and so on. Felt MDX is more value for money and a good one. Your video was one of the reason that we picked. It was very hard to pass on Hyundai Palisade though. Waiting to receive the MDX next week and the touch pad makes me nervous. Hopefully we will like it.
I’m considering buying an SUV thank you so much
It’s a battle between the two heavy weights RX and MDX in the market for my first SUV !
I really like the Acura MDX.
Infinity & Accura for me, thank you!
I’m thinking about MDX hybrid version.
I placed an order on an MDX. Gotta wait until March-April...
I will buy the Acura MDX😂
Genesis looks outstanding !
Bro, are you using the 2014-2019 Lexus GX?
I bought my wife the ACURA RDX A-SPEC, what a great car! If it’s that good I can only imagine the MDX! I didn’t want to drive it because I know I would of bought the MDX, was looking to buy great at a great price, and I did it in the RDX, maybe the MDX in the next car shopping!!
Looks like the GV80 is in the same position as Lexus was back in the 90"s. It seems to be an excellent buy.
Acura MDX 24/7 👍
Very well said, I would rank 1. Mdx 2. Infinity (spacious 3 row and upgraded) 3. Rx (outdated interior and no actual 3rd row).
First of all u spelled infiniti wrong and secondly the GV80 should be 3rd at least, but yeah you're right Lexus/Toyota aren't known to be the most spacious compared to their rivals. My family sold our 07 CRV & got a 2018 Rav4 & it just doesn't feel as roomy as the CRV
Do you recommend the lincoln aviator 2022 ??
Thank you for this video. We are original owners of a 2003 Acura MDX with 219,000 miles. This thing is a workhorse for sure. No major mechanical issues. Original motor, transmission etc.Not sure why I’ve had 3 cracked motor mounts over the 19 yrs. Maybe it’s me 🙃😬 We would drive it until the tires came off but now concerned with the lack of updated safety equipment. Only two airbags….driver/passenger. I will be replacing it this years for another MDX. I love Acura.
You mentioned very important point about the safety. The car's safety construction revolutionized after 2015 in SORB accidents. cars before that used to get smashed with only 65Km up the wheel being displaced and preventing the airbag protect the head. Now they are much safer. In the industry they say even a 2017 Corolla is much safer than a 2012 Mercedes AMG because of progress in the safety features of the new cars.
I am waiting for the redesign for the Lexus RX350
GV80 stands out!!
2022 MDX !!
GV80 Any day
Got it right with the Acura!
I’ll take the GV80 any day, the best look and luxury options
The new BMW X5 B58 platform which is 2017 going forward is a pretty durable and reliable suv for a European brand. You should really consider it on your list.
LEXUS 👌😎👍 THE PERFECTION
2 issues with the Acura, the info system is updated by not touch screen…then the placement of the rear wiper, still at the bottom, those tend to break all the time. Big Lexus was updated a few years ago, but very old look interior…
Toyota /Lexus has very boring interior. Too outdated.
Great review! Love your channel
Thank you!
How about the Mazda CX9? It will be interesting to see what the Mazda CX90 will bring to the market. Great review. Thanks
Mazda not considering luxury 😂
Hi, Mazda is not in the luxury arena! The company said they were stepping up to be a “premium” brand which is better than economy but still not quite luxury. Some of Mazda’s designs look even better than some luxury cars so they’re doing a good job with it. Hope this helped!
I’ll buy the MDX, when the insanity of “market adjustments” slow down and kinda goes back to normal.
I own a 2011 MDX and even in it's old age, I absolutely love it. I will be upgrading really soon to a 2022 or 2023.
So you'll have two Acuras?
I own the 2010 Acura MDX Advance. It's nearly 12 years old but like new inside and out with just under 42,000 miles. Since I am 78 years old, I doubt I'll ever buy another vehicle. My 2010 is still not really outdated very much as it has adaptive suspension, collision mitigation braking system, blind spot detection, bluetooth streaming, and even a hard drive to download CDs and navigation updates. Never had any problem with it. Best vehicle I've ever owned.
Hey... didnt the 2022volvo xc60 beat the 2022Lexus rx in value and reliability i thought i heard that somewhere
Great review my friend. A buddy of mine got some BMW model which is very nice with high-end features. It would actively control Lane centering to the point of going around corners with will marked lines. Something that I really liked. But what I didn't like was owning a vehicle that could "statistically" be more apt to leave you stranded on the side of the road. I am about a week out on getting my RX 350. I wish it had more advanced technology, but it is indeed very comfortable and "Toyota" reliable! I have a RAV4 and a Yaris that I absolutely love. Both basically 11 years old and almost nothing but maintenance. 200,000 miles is a cinch! Not to mention my 1984 4 x 4 truck. The last of the straight axles. It was a no-brainer for me. So yeah, I have ants in my pants royally LOL.
BTW, it does have active lane centering and I love it! Great car
Hi - QQ does RX 350 will have a complete redesign next year ? Thanks
Most likely yes
@@carhelpcorner thank you!
I like the GV 80 but not sure about its reliability. Are you sure it deserved the second place? I heard it has a lot of issues.
The Lexus GX is the only real off-load SUV in the review. It is also bomb proof, put gas and oil in it and they run a long, long time, with very little mechanical or electrical issues. The V-8 engine is underpowered and very thirsty, but the ride is surprising comfortable and well mannered for a body-on-frame vehicle. It will keep rolling and be on the road, long after all other vehicles on the list are assigned to the junk heap. I recently test drove a Genesis GV80 3.5L, the ride was comfortable and compliant, acceleration acceptable, interior design and quality better than average, but the long term durability undetermined. I drive 32-35K per year, and have to tow a horse trailer on occasion, so durability and reliability are very important. Gas mileage on the GV80 AWD is not great, around 20 mpg combined city/highway. But what concerned me was it was not body-on-frame, which affects long-term durability and also when the sales rep informed me that "some of the vehicles even lasted 100k miles". I put that kind of mileage on in less than three years, and the Lexus GX routinely get 300-350k miles relatively trouble free. I prefer the Lexus LX over the GX, but admittedly, there is a large price jump between the two, with both models enjoying tremendous reputations for reliability and dependability, and therefore best resale values of virtually any vehicles sold. It is a matter of priorities. I purchased a BMW 540XI with M Sport package for my wife and test drove a BMW X7 for one week. BMW are performance based vehicles, with tons of tech, that an old geezer like myself, will likely never use or even learn to command. I prefer a simpler, less tech based vehicle, one that is more mechanical and therefore, more reliable, more dependable and capable of driving high mileage without constant and very costly visits to the repair shop. Nothing beats a normally aspirated V8 for long term reliability, dependability, and engine sound.
My wife and I are both 65+ and will be purchasing an SUV that will hopefully last a good long time. From your review can I take it that the Lexus GX would be a strong consideration for us.
Amen. Same here, we have a 2020 GX460 and would never trade it for anything else.
Genesis GV80 all day.
Junk! Sold our Prestige after 1 year and 14,000kms
@@beri232 you never had one from the beginning. Can't afford it from your walmart paycheck.
@@maga6319 I can tell by the way you talk who makes the “Walmart” paycheck there chump. Lol
No go with the aviator? Also what’s your take on the new defender?
My thought exactly about the Aviator and also the Nautilus. Just wish that the Nautilus had the self parking and also the hidden rear wiper like the Aviator. Nautilus like my MKX has a nice profile too. Now if only it also incorporated the Genesis blind spot camera monitoring feature instead of only in the mirror with a dot. Maybe best to simply keep the MKX.
Yes I’m considering the MDX 2023 model
We'll be ordering our 2023 a-spec mid July. Be here no later than October.
I got the 2022 MDX S
@@gofer23mw That's great. Congratulations.Hope y'all enjoying the new ride. My wife and I gave our eldest daughter our 2014 mdx to have while in school out of state. We tend to only buy Honda and Toyota cars and trucks. All have been great vehicles.
Getting 2023 Advance package next week white exterior and black interior. Can’t wait
MDX
Only Toyota and Lexus. Best vehicles.
I have a 2018 Volvo XC90 and I LOVE LOVE 💕 her!! I’m meticulous about my cars so I keep them in like new condition. When it’s times to get a new one, I will definitely be looking for another Volvo or a Mercedes!! I love driving Mercedes…. The seats are amazing. Just like my Volvo. They don’t call them the safest cars on the road for nothing:)
Would love to get the MDX but really want to get a Hybrid or PHEV SUV. Honda/Acura seem to be behind in this area in the Canadian market eg CRV hybrid NA in Canada. Any insight or prediction on when Acura plans to introduce a Hybrid or PHEV version of the MDX?
Acura will be going electric Honda will be hybrid
My friend, nice review. What are your thoughts on the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus with the 2.7 engine, reserve trim? Worth it or not?
You have to look at the vehicles in the top five pick. I don't see an American made vehicle. That might tell you something.
MDX midsize?
Hi, I am planning to lease either the lexus rx350 or Infiniti QX60. Which one would you suggest? Thanks
If you leasing get BMW X5 No 20 year old technology and should be trouble free for 3 years.
If you are not keeping long-term then lease the one you like best or is the better deal. Both are excellent SUVs that are hard to fault. If you need that third row then get the Infiniti.
Acura MDX.
You forgot to include the NIO es8. Really.
Love Infinitit.
Infiniti QX 60 is gorgeous
All of these are great, but surprised not to see Tesla in the mix. After owning them, I find it inconvenient to go back to non-electric. I'm seriously having a hard time picking another car. Maybe Rivian? The only maintenance I've had is filling up washer fluid and changing tires. I recently went to a gas station to swap out my grill propane cylinder... don't miss that scene ;). Nice list otherwise... the Genesis would be my choice. Won't work for those who are brand concious, but that thing has the Bentley Bentayga vibes. Wish it were electric.
The Infiniti QX60 is basically the new Pathfinder with nicer materials in the interior for an additional $15K.
But it looks nothing like the pathfinder
Exactly like it
I take the gx 460 anytime
Conspicuous by its absence is the Ford Explorer and any other American SUV. My son has a Genesis and loves it.
I have a qustion, which car you own?
Yes Master, I will buy Japanese.
weirdo
Where the Mercedes-Bentz GLE-350 stands?
It stands in the only lease category
So which car were you driving . I am sure you have driven any of thema nd just took out videos from the advts ..
BMW X5 is a great alternative.
Genesis is uniquely design, luxury and warranty.
wat.s your car?
Hi I am looking for Santa fe hybrid limited any suggestions which was best hybrid svu?
Get the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Much better built. Santa Fe Hybrid sucks in quality.
@@markkrispin6944 which trim you will suggest ? Right now I am using Honda Accord 2020 touring 2.0T
@@mrabhikrishna any trim is good I believe. Toyota is the "King of the Hybrid".

MDX all day
LX600 is my dream drive. Everything else is irrelevant. For midsize I prefer the RX350
Hands down no question, the MDX is the better SUV
ACURA MDX ALL DAY
What about Rivian R1S? Starts at 70K
Right now this one is a "wait and see" for me
We just traded our 2010 MDX and bought a 2019 Lexus RX 350. MDX has a poor reliability track record according to Consumer Reports... it's a mess. Acura was nice but they didn't treat us right with a known defect with gradually burning oil... they wanted me to pay $2K to fix their defect. No thank you. Also... watch for transmission issues with the MDX. Toyota/Lexus for the win in reliability... and man what a nice ride!
I will buy the HYUNDAI PALISADE.... maybe not on the same level as these 5 cars, but based on price value on its safety and tech features, comfortability, spacious 3rd row seats, plus 10 year warranty, I'd go for PALISADE. My 2nd choice is Lexus but its interior is too outdated, boring.
I paid $58K for a MDX in 2014 and sold it for $24k in 2019, lost almost 60% resale value in 5 years and the main reason is there was a transmission problem after the buyer tested it that I did not find. Was attracted by these number #1 or 2 ranking comparisons to it, does not work for me.
Lexus RX350 would be my choice.
MDX any day but the A-spec only. Honda is King
Looks like there was a very blinkered view of what to review as there were multiple choices for Lexus for example. Where was the Volvo XC90, BMWX5 , Audi Q7, Mercedes cars. A very one sides slant on cars and not a list of the top 5. The Volvo won the best 7seat SUV in the states in another review. Not a mention here. Makes me wonder about bias.
Disappointed with mdx, too many gear changes
Unfortunately there’s no data presented to support anything you say. It seems like you’re reciting a conglomeration of marketing materials and reviews. It just sounds like every other marketing video out there. You’re production value is great tho!
Number 1 & 2 has been a toss up for me...😒
Is the Genesis really reliable?
Not as reliable as Lexus or Acura, but safer than European brands like BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Genesis also has a longer warranty and covers maintenance visits which helps. If you plan to own beyond 8-10 years, Lexus is best.
I’m gonna bet it’s not gonna be
@@carhelpcorner that’s not true, Genesis is more reliable than Acura
Yes they are way more reliable than Lexus and Acura.
@@carhelpcorner Dude, where's your source to back your claim?
Great review! I honestly feel hesitant about owning the Genesis. Hyundai/Genesis as well as Kia had to recall hundreds of thousands of their vehicles again this year because of engine problems. This is nothing new as this brand has had the issue before. Even professional mechanics and car enthusiasts have admitted that Hyundai tried too hard to push for a luxury brand to compete with its German and Japanese competitors. The result was a disastrous auto engineering, hence, why it has a 10-year warrant for its cars. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in November of 2020 that Hyundai and Kia would have to pay $137 million to cover fines and safety improvements so they remedy the engine issue.
Lexus is definitely the safer choice if you plan to own long term
@@carhelpcorner I feel honored getting a reply by you lol. What about the Acura?
@@lane5686 No problem! Acura's aren't quite as trouble-free as Lexus, but definitely much safer than European luxury brands. The 3.5L Honda V6 in the MDX is a solid engine.
Totally agree with you. I bought a brand new 2021 Kia Sorrento X-Line and the transmission went out 5 months later with only 2200+ miles. Staying away from Kia/Hyundai/Genesis
@@dtuliao I am so sorry you had to go through that. Nonetheless, thank you for being so opened about such an experience. It sheds light to their engines compared to the Japanese competitors.
RX is very low for tall people, and the third row is absolutely no usable.
The real SUV at a great price will be the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 model - the luxurious interior with offroad capability and comfort beats all the 5 SuVs.
Jeep 🤣🤣🤣
Where's the Volvo XC90?????
Which car are you driving in this video
They are not SUVs ...but crossovers
Sometime I wonder what’s wrong with German automobiles. None of the big German brands like Merc, BMW, Audi, Porsche made this list. Best value and reliable cars are all made in Japan.
OMG GX is so never been in the same competitive Class of the QX60...its the RX - L, the GX is so not midsize is compared ...kinda with the Tahoe Escalade and the QX80s
Your List of Best Midsize Luxury Sedan & Luxury Compact SUV's!🙃
Great video, but disagree with your top 5 luxury SUV's. how about Audi QS5, BMW X5, Mercedes ?
All are great SUVs too, but they are not safe choices for long term reliability and low repair costs. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes are best to lease. Reliability was important for this list and the SUVs on this list are much safer to own past the warranty period. Most will have much higher resale value too because of that.
@@carhelpcorner Excellent advice! Thanks!
They are endless money pits (ask Scotty Kilmer for more info)
@@carhelpcorner maybe rename it to “best long term luxury SUV”

His review is based on luxury, reliability, resale and performance. That’s why most suv are not listed. To me genesis shouldn’t have been part of it. Acura cars all the best!! MDX
They're reliable. That's why they on the list. Just because you don't like Hyundai, don't mean Genesis is the same as that evans.
