    • One thought is simple analogy for the "tax fraud" in NY. TWO SETS of BOOKS. There is slight wiggle room in evaluations - decor, branding can add value, BUT you can't change from 11 thousand sq ft to 30 thousand sq ft unless you do physical renovations. IF his loan evaluations are correct, then Trump owes a butt load of taxes. If his tax estimates are correct,he committed fraud per the laws of NY. Two sets of books is typical mob tactics to hide illegal activities.

    • Same. David probably doesn't have to do a ton of debate prep, because he sticks with facts and Empirical truth. People who parse words and bend facts to suit their subjective needs aren't usually as quick on their feet as our David. I couldn't get a read on the guy firing the questions at David, though. Seems like he was being deliberately provocative and simply ill informed/duped by other at different times.

  • Completely missed and never discussed with regard to Biden's memory during the deposition, MOST people do not have great long term memory. As a 30-year attorney I cannot tell you how many times I have heard someone who is 30, 40, 50, etc., after being asked about something that happened perhaps two years ago, responding "It's hard to remember. That was a long time ago." It's no different that eye witness identification, which most people get wrong most of the time.

    • @Tap_Profile_Send_Sms1332 Originally from Brooklyn, I have lived in New Rochelle in Westchester County for 20 years. Jamaal Bowman is my congressman, but I know his primary challenger, County Executive George Latimer, personally and am so happy that he threw his hat in the ring. Latimer knows his constituency. Whoever wins the primary will win the general. Really rooting for George. Good man who consistency delivers for his constituents (and has never lost an election). Perhaps you can invite him onto your show. Oops, just realize this message is not with respect to your interview with Rep. Torres, which I also watched today.

    • this! it's hard for everyone to think back years. the interview also wasn't about whether he could accurately pick out specific years. the focus was on the investigation, which came in the middle of his presidency and just after the gaza attacks. it's only natural for biden's memory to not be in humanly perfect. and anyway, biden told multiple stories which were solid. he knew the month and day, someone interjected on the year to push the interview along. it's not like biden couldn't figure it out or even take a guess, he literally didn't have the opportunity.

I've had the opportunity to be on some conference calls with some big players (including Harris) and that's been my takeaway as well. @teejay3272@teejay327220 күн бұрын
    • things can look distorted through the lens of the media sometimes. Harris just seems to perform rather poorly as a media figure, but it's easy to forget that awkwardness in front of a camera isn't necessarily an accurate representation of someone's real life persona

    • @@EcoCentristexactly. it's important to remember that politicians are human beings too and while media has become a bigger and bigger part of politics, it's not the sole focus. being able to actually execute the job matters more than whether you're awkward in speeches or interviews. another layer is that this is a very turbulent time, anxiety is high with politicians. especially for the first black and asian woman vice president who's already been so viciously attacked. even if she was perfect on camera, they'd find something to make up or nitpick. hell, they make up shit about the president and he's a white man.

    • @@teejay3272yep! people get bored by politics and want entertainment to come with it. but then also feel comfortable in throwing around nonsensical criticisms as if they're up to date on how politics actually works. it's a huge part of the "concern" over biden's age. he's shown he's perfectly fine, the last 3 years have helped america not hurt it. but what it does mean is that he's not as easily sexualised by the media, he's not young and hip, running around making girls swoon. the articles and trending hashtags of biden in his youth is the perfect example. they had to find something to ooh and awe at because someone doing their job isn't enough.

  • In the USA. Citizens accused of crimes have a right to a speedy trial. They don’t have a right to a speedy investigation or a right to be prosecuted before evidence is gathered. Taking 3 years to indict someone is actually very constitutional.

  • David I think you were extremely prepared and did a great job. The only missed opportunity I saw was with the timing of Trump’s indictments - it took a long time to gather the evidence to not prematurely bring charges against Trump and Trump obstructed the gathering of that information at every turn i.e. judge Aileen Cannon helped Trump out with the delay delay delay tactic.

If this were the type of interview the majority of people were exposed to, our country and its fragile democracy would be in far better shape! Thank you David for your thoughtful critical thinking!
