  • Amber Heard had a lot more screen time and "hero" moments than I was expecting. It proves they didn't diminish her role cause of controversy, but merely shifted the co-lead role to Patrick because he has better chemistry with Jason than Amber, which is exactly what WB said in court. They weren't lieing, cause they had an easy moment in the plot that could've kept her out of the whole film.

There are no shortage of examples of "money people" who take over once successful projects only to ruin them because they only think about what will make as much money as possible. In the MCU and DCEU cases they were constantly changing what the direction of the franchises were they either followed trends in the real world (for instance what people are mad about at any particular time see everything surrounding Captain Marvel) and shaped the stories to appease as many people as possible or in the DCEU's case they were trying to chase what Marvel was doing that made them successful losing anything resembling a cohesive narrative in the process.

  • I disagree, it was a great movie. Unfortunately all the drama may have changed the true vision but I liked the brother bonding and redemption of Orm. The fact that the baby was taken from grandpa by Manta was devastating (feeling of it’s over) I means the stakes we’re getting pretty high for aqua man. His wife almost died then his dad, his son and the possibility of his brother turning on him also. It was good. Especially how they all came to rescue the baby at the end 👏🏽 They whooped ass for that baby

  • I love how Jonathon Majors got dropped by Marvel and other companies immediately as soon he was found guilty of assault and may face jail time meanwhile, when Amber Heard was exposed to have assaulted Johnny Depp and guilty for defamation..her screentime on Aquaman was merely cut down rather than removed entirely. Apparently, she was dropped from various companies but they seemed to drag their ass and like she was still given a chance. I know she wasn't tried for that assault but that fact that she isn't speaks volumes to the toxic double-standards regarding when men do physical assault and when women do it and even now, how women often get lighter sentences, if any at all. Not saying Majors should not get held accountable/punished, he should but sometimes the punishment does NOT fit the crime. These toxic double-standards and hypocrisy just seems to overshadow all the good aspects of living in the U.S. now 🤦‍♂

I've also seen people more emotional when losing a shoelace than she was at that specific point in the film. Patrick Wilson without a shirt was a very good addition to this film, and there needs to be more of that. A good distraction from the Turd. The fight scenes were awesome. Creepy Manta was on point. I'd like to know more about the underwater locations visited in this film, as they seemed to just arrive and leave quickly. Frozen king was awesome. My recommendation, if you are going to see it, see it on cheapo day. In Oz, that's a Tuesday.

  • IDK Seems like Jason is kinda being himself here. Looks like he got the ok to make author whomever he liked and he made him closer to who he is. In the movie - Arthur drinks Guinness beer! - Arthur rides motorcycles! - Arthur wears what I believe is Jason‘s taste in jewelry he had custom-made to wear for the movie😂 - Arthur wears Jason’s clothing line. Jason is actually wearing some of his own clothes - Arthur actually says aloha in one scene! Lots of great freedom❤

  • It was just a fun popcorn action movie. Felt a lot like the first movie. Amber Heard was not bad.

  • Man of Steel is still my favourite DCEU movie. I am looking forward to checking Aquaman 2 out, if only to see how bad it is compared to the first one, which was an unabashed big and dumb blockbuster entertaining superhero ride. Great review as always Jeremy.

  • This could have been a movie of the story of a dedicated good King battling a villain and overcoming an evil plot. And saving his kingdom. Edit: carrying on where the previous movie left off, but with a more mature king (Jason Mamoa is now several years older after all). As he took on more responsibility and gained experience through conflicts.

  • Strike 1: Firing Henry Cavill Strike 2: Refusing the fire Ezra Miller Strike 3: Refusing to fire Amber Heard They could've survived at most 2 of these decisions. But all 3? No. They made the wrong call on each of these issues. Marvel have spotted this & immediately dropped Majors. You may not agree with it, but he's been found guilty.

  • The tiny midcredit scene of Orm eating 🍔 with a 🪳 in it sums up my experience with the DCEU. Started off strong, enjoying a juicy delicious meal. Ending it with a bitter taste in the mouth... A smile remembering all the good times I had across the decade. That is the final shot of the old DCEU. It's done.
