      @DMTR.Gaming@DMTR.Gaming3 жыл бұрын
    • @@DMTR.Gaming Yes California is the only state that specifically says it is legal. Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia have no laws pertaining to it. So it is not Legal/Illegal for you to do it there. They might try and get you for reckless driving or some other BS though.

  • It'd be amazing to go back in time and document the Missoula Floods, particularly the biggest which was a wave from a breaking ice dam. The wave was estimated to be over 1,000 feet high, and traveling over 100 mph with a destructive force that rivaled thermonuclear weapons, permanently scarring the land even to this day. Eddies were so powerful they bored massive holes into the bedrock that look almost like missile silos they're so big. Entire mountain ridges were obliterated, and the waters contained debris and boulders even bigger than houses. The devastation was so extensive that it's visible from space, marring the landscape of the Pacific North West. It wasn't until I moved out to Washington that I saw the landscape for myself. The sheer scale of the event is something that even CGI could never do justice. If you were primitive man and saw that wave coming over the horizon, there would have been nothing you could do but watch in horror and be killed. Running would just mean you die tired.

  • When I was 17 and on my Learners Permit I once got halfway through overtaking a large truck but my small motor had no more acceleration. The moment I realised that another truck, equally long loomed in the oncoming direction. Having no time to brake and unable to disappear I realised that I needed to get as close to touching the truck I was overtaking but without actually touching and make myself small as possible. There was buffetting from air turbulence but thankfully I never lost it. I feel that every possible factor in my survival was at the very limit of safety. A valuable lesson👍

  • The female Lion had just lost her cub. She saved, followed and protected the young wildebeest for 3 days. In her confusion, the Lioness felt a strong maternal instinct toward what would be normally her prey. Eventually, when the wildebeest sprinted, unfortunately triggered the lionesses hunting instinct and it was all over. I saw this on an episode of Wild Kingdom years ago. I remember being captivated and absolutely riveted to the TV screen oh, so wanted that little guy to live! But this is the real Wild Kingdom folks not a Disney story.

    @bellaboop1@bellaboop13 жыл бұрын
    • That young wildebeest had Stockholm syndrome too young and confused by trauma. Lions and Hyena's compete for food and are vicious enemies denying another a meal is common. You can see the same behavior in birds they are ruthless when it comes to survival,even destroying eggs and killing fledglings.

    • the lioness who could not have babies of her own, attempted to adopt 3 or 4 wilder beast wilder beast babies, one was allowed to suckle from his group and then she would run to scare the herd and get it back and lived for awhile then he ran to his mom after few days, then she adopted another one, and he died from hunger I think, the last one she adopted, was for many 2 weeks approx, locals heard of the story and gave her a name, I forgot what it was, mother and the adopted one lost weight and barely could walk to drink water they were seen the mother lion and the baby both thin, she was not hunting for herself, and he attempted to suckle from her ear etc...one day a male lion saw the baby crossing a clear way jumped at it and killed it, the mother adopted same attitude lioness mothers when defending their cub, circulating and worried but afraid because she was weak . It was amazing documentary... but they say they saw at least 3 or 4 attempt of adapting different wilder beast baby by the same lioness .. and the documentary says it could have been many more that were not filmed.

    • People really need to stop attributing human meaning and motives to animals. What ever was going on in that clip, she wasn't trying to save the wildebeest. If I am not mistaken lions and hyenas will go out of their way to kill the other. Not, to mention it being calving season, she also had Cubs around. This could also be the reason behind her "protection of the calf". As cubs grow the lioness will bring live prey back for the cubs to practice hunting/killing. This seems more likely than a a postpartum depressed, hungry lioness protecting prey to snuggle with them. 🤦‍♂️

The practice I wasn’t expecting and I heard a loud sound and looked out and it was that close and SO LOW. My legs buckled. That plane is a new addition but it’s an event we have every year to celebrate the city and they always practice throughout the week but I never know the practice is going to happen until it does and I hate it because my phobia is low flying planes (and hot air balloons and blimps lol who knows why) I now live on the Gold Coast from the jet clip!

  • Re: low flying jet I completely agree with the people who witnessed that without a heads-up. With all the things we have to worry about currently we do not need a loud, confusing and dramatic event to trigger our fear. Last week we had 6 emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances, come blasting down out dead end road with bells and sirens screeching! Everyone in the neighborhood (which is generally pretty quiet and low key) came rushing out to the street having no idea what was happening. It scared the crap out of me so I went online to see if anyone knew what was going on and I was told that the fire departments are doing this in many of the local towns as a way to wish a kid on the street a Happy Birthday. It's something the towns put together since the kids certainly must be upset because they can't have a birthday party so that display was supposed to be a morale booster! All it achieved on my street was to incite panic and fear as well as ratcheting up the anxiety level of the neighborhood dogs. FML

He felt it far safer to keep up your speed than to try to balance a big motorcycle with your girlfriend on the back at slow speed. The only time he ever dropped his Ninja was when he was forced to travel really slow and abruptly stop, but thank God I wasn't on the back. He used to like to split lanes at 60+ mph and go at 110 on two lane roads, with my helmet trying to pull off my head. I miss being younger and completely unafraid, unlike the poor young college-aged sheeple of today.

    • The lioness did not "mother" the baby wildebeest. It kept it nearby and ate it later. This happens quite often. Big cats often seem to be playing or lounging with orphaned gazelles or antelope - but that's simply because they are not hungry at that moment. Later, when they are hungry, without exception, they kill and eat the orphan. Leopards are different. They will kill when they aren't hungry and hide their groceries in trees for later consumption. I know it's sad, but that's what happens -- and it happens very often. I am a zoologist - this is stuff I know. You can google me under my full name David-Damien Mattia.
