Incredible boats in rough weather
This video was filmed by whitewaterfishing at the Jupiter Inlet in Jupiter, Florida. The Jupiter inlet can be harsh and unforgiving but on this day a few boats were willing to brave it out and it made for some great footage. Hope you enjoy.
I love how these Vikings make these waves looks like cake. They just have so much power and the way there bows are designed they can handle just about anything. They are truly ocean boats.
Nice to see the convertibles carving their way through the big water
The blue boat at the end backing up was pretty impressive
Hahahaha. It was just a reply
Been through the Jupiter Inlet, many times! That's some beautiful equipment! Well done, my friend!
I've run that inlet in those conditions many times . . . mostly in a 23' Aquasport that I owned. It can be fun for sure!
Minus the music great video! That first captain knew what he was doing! Way to work with the water!!
That second boat was total boss! The added music was more fitting for jacked up stoned mouse trying to work itself through a maze.
That last boat was crushing it.
lol, man thanks for the slo mo's. Mesmerizing for me to watch. Keep them coming
Shut up man, the video sucked!!
I can watch boats all day :)
Great Video.
More big splashes. Great stuffing recipe in a blue suit.
that blue sportfisher slice thru the swell like a big boss. u can see it's really HEAVY and has BIG POWER! sick deep V and spray chine. badass boat as for the CC, that shows an reliable outboard key, if they were 2 strokes even better
its a Spencer
Looks like Lake Superior, on a calm day.
sick clip dude
Pretty cool vid, but where I grew up in Maine we call this " short chop"
You have to know what you're doing at that inlet!! Those guys did well!!
Nothing like the "Carolina Flare" to keep you dry....well relatively dry anyhow.
I couldn't watch the video because the Techno music made me break out my glow sticks and start dancing LOL hahaha
Never never get sideways on a wave. You'll broach, flip, and swamp. Just south of Jupiter in Boynton inlet now that's a dozy.
That blue Spencer at the end manhandled that wave. Hot knife through butter. Coolest video I've seen on the internet of a sportfish cutting through a wave at speed.
She certainly did. Good design and big diesels.
Excellent call on the Spencer....and I used to dream of the Luhrs.
how big were those waves?
The only one braving it was the center console, we go out the Merrimack river in Massachusetts, that's a rough inlet
Rough water. Looks like a typical day of fishing to me
Just gave you your first like bud 🍻
Incredible rough footage
👍To you and to all the hard core boaters. I would love to.
Looks like a good day for water skiing LOL
Should be called great skippers in rough seas.
Blue Boat_Beautiful Design Busting Big Bar Waves...well, my wife would consider them big. Lol
2:43 that bow flare is hard at work
Nicholas Kellogg buddy Davis design .
I thought it was either a Viking or a buddy Davis.
Its a Spencer Yacht
Turn the music off! Why does everybody have to do that these days?
YOU turn it off. Yes, your computer actually has a volume control, believe it or not...
No shit, wow you're a genius!
+trucking604 lol it may be obvious, but he thought of it before you, making you pretty stupid XD
What the fuck
trucking604 you want to listen to wind for 5 mins?
was that last boat Travis on the Que Mas?
I love watching those big fishing boats in rough water cutting through like butter. Hatteras 60 GT at the end!
not a hatteras gt but a Spencer Yacht
First boat did exactly what he should. Ride the back side of the wave in. 👍🏻
You can rob a bank with that music (actually noise).
The first one with the back wash wow.
cool music bro
The smaller crafts work with the waves the larger ones fight the waves pretty interesting
The viking 62 open bridge at the end is soooooo amazing, cut the water like a hot knife cuts butter
sorry, not a viking but a Spencer
@@spenceryachts1890 you're absolutely right. Thanks
5 foot seas max - that ain't rough (at least not to those who are trained to operate in 18 - 20 foot breaking bar conditions). And the blue hulled SF showed exactly what the "Carolina Flare" is for. Had it been a similar sized midnight Express he wouldn't have come back up at all. Just submarine and sink
At the dock many of these boats seem like nothing could phase them but depending on the swells they are just like any other boat big or small.
seas were rough, music was worse, i like the sound of the boats.
Great video music is no good but there is a down volume on most devices : )
That last boat with the Texas flag smashed through
bryanaustin22 because its from Texas! Florida boat would of crashed in the jettys
@@Joetrout I heard it was a Spencer from Wanchese.
definitely a spencer
Pretty amazing! What kind of boat do you think is best as far as safety for family to go around Gulf, Keys. also considering price along with safety still in mind, but not having a lot of money, looking to buy used? Mainly curious, ball park ideas. Hubby can do general repairs, thoughts, anyone else please chime in. Thanks, I just subbed!
Thank you for your subscribing I really appreciate it! But this is a great question. When buying a boat it kind of depends on what you plan on doing in your boat, like if you are going to be fishing on it or just cruising around, island hopping ect. I could probably give some good recommendations of what I would buy if i knew what you plan on using your boat. Also around what size of boat were you considering?
+Dina Eddy The bigger the better the havier the better, u gonna spend money on buying a boat might as well go all out don't start chip believe me I have a 20' mako and the scary part is the inlet on a bad day, I don't take my fam out on the ocean I only go by my self w a friend that's it. Too bad I only take my fam to intercostal n sandbars etc... For right now I'm enjoying what I have but would love to get a bigger boat two engines etc... Good luck
Small-Medium boat for big water: Grady White, Whaler, Key West, Aegis, Cape Horn, Everglades are just a few of the really good ones out there, BUT they are often very expensive compared to others. Whats the value in $$ of an unsinkable boat and a life???
What's your budget? Let's start there
Nice boats, but I'm from the Pacific Northwest, where we have bars to run. That would be an average passage through the Eureka bar, and a lot of places up here are worse. I've seen sixteen foot center consoles run chop that rough, but you have to know what you're doing.
I loved this (well, not the stills but mostly I did). In reality, with high cost boats, this is a rough day for that inlet passage. Thanks for the up load. HD is almost like being there. If I were, I'd be impressed.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Your most welcome.
That big Carolina boat ate that inlet up...boy
Jupiter inlet it gets kickin.
Jupiter Inlet's not too bad depending on the tides. Try Gordon Pass down in Naples with strong winds out of the west! Come in fast with the swells trying to turn your stern around and on the edge of control you have to make an immediate left.
captkurt11 you been watching too many boat movies
A nice calm day on the Bay of Fundy.
This is like an infomercial for a Carolina flare
Fantastic footage, the center console was a little slow for a following sea, and that monster viking at the end could have used some more trim up for a following sea, what a beautiful boat though wow. Nice video!
That wasn't a Viking, he handled that inlet like a boss.
2:11 we talking about the same boat? what is it then? im pretty certain its a viking. off course he killed it, that is a monster boat and he was flying :)
Jolinator Looks like a Hatteras GT 70. He knew what he was doing. Maybe he came in 5 knots too hot but in that beast who cares.
GT70 has a different shaped windscreen though look at the back where it forms the "teardrop shape" at the rear gt70 doesnt have the engine inlets on the side like that either never said didnt know what he was doing! beast indeed!
Jolinator Might not be, maybe a custom open fisherman. But I would bet a pretty penny that's not also not a Viking. Engine inlets on them are bigger and set more to the back. Also Vikings have one uninterrupted smooth line from bow to stern unless this one is really old but doesn't seem like it.
Cool show "
Jupiter Inlet is a major inlet in mid Florida just north of Palm Beach. When you’re heading east be careful since the inlet is shallow especially when you turn north. You can see evidence of shallow waters. So it’s my choice to exist the inlet and once out head east southeast. Keep an close eye on your depth charts and instruments. Gerald P. Rothman Captian
incredible unstable camera
Svein Hanssen thank you👍
I've seen it rougher in the bath tub
Bill Vanhorn that must be some bathtub you got there
Lol
Well then QUIT farting in the bathtub. Problem solved. ;o)
i thought he was playing with himself
Bill Vanhorn $100 say you haven’t navigated an inlet in your life 🤦🏻♂️
Those Vikings are absolute beasts.
I don’t think they’re going to make it to the playoffs this season.
I wonder how much lift in lbs is created by water hitting the bow flares. Force created by auxiliary things is amazing. The upward flow of the exhaust stream on a top fuel dragster creates about 600lbs of down force to the car. I'd guess that the water coming up the hull, hitting the bow flares and spraying outwards is going to be in the area of hundreds of pounds of upward force, lifting the bow up and away from the dreaded submarining effect! Any boat designers here who know if that theory is correct?
Rough??? A little wavy with some sharp chop. Kids stuff.
That viking at the end was a boss!
3:27 Blue boat cut that wave like butter
Yeah for about a million dollars you can buy a 52-foot viking 2
Problems happen when the wave peak frequency is less than the vessel's CL length leading to bow plunging into oncoming crests.
The term "STuFFiNG iT" has garnered popularity & maybe the de-facto Webster entry ? ! ?
That was good thanks but it looks like the rough water was caused by a river meeting the sea, not the weather.
I really like this kind of videos but you need a tripod
Is it just my old eyes or is there one serious current flowing outward in that video?
What was that last yacht ? An Ocean Viking Buddy Davis?
I believe it is a Spencer
Bow design was reminiscent of a hatteras but idk
ben garcia Hatteras doesn't have the flair. Looked like a Spencer as mentioned.
Yup, a Spencer most likely
Definitely a Spencer. Got hit by lightning recently. Shame
I would love to see a Nigel Irens boat coming through here
Who hell is that
@@jeremiahjonestxmusic3700 he is a boat designer, specialising on sleak yachts, catamarans and economical displacement hulls
That music though, what is that? A guy humming through wax paper over a comb while playing a pinball machine? The clip was cool
That's standard. Lol!
nice boats.. perfect tunes
last boat bad ass
Rough seas didn't have shit on that buddy Davis hull.
not a Davis, its a Spencer
Physics didn't even make sense on that last ship. Just sliced right through
It's that Carolina Flare! Just punch through and throw the water out the sides.
last boat like a fukn Boss
Nice
Thats calm? Just the tide going out
Them sport fishing boats cut right through and that wide flare throws the water
The throttle is your friend "D!!!
2:27 dry, dry boat
Ha. A millpond
First boat was doing ok until he slid of the back of the wave he was following. At that point its better to go over the small wave than get your stern lifted by the next bigger wave.
What is that noise in the background?
We have a 17ft angler and I might be a wussy but I would beach myself before dealing with those waves they would prolly flip us right over
it would probably flip us over in our 22 foot century bay boat.
And that's why the hulls are flared. Bamf blue boat. Post? Hatteras? Viking?
That my friend is most likely a Spencer, they make outstanding Carolina Style custom boats.
You could tell it was an ocean by how it bobbed on top of everything because they're light weight and don't have a deep V they are kind of like the bayliner of sport fish the boat with a blue haul don't know the brand because they all kind of have that Carolina look but it sliced through everything and took it like a true battle wagon.
Apparently too rough to hold the camera steady!
The inlet so rough that not even the camera can be held still
Hatteras at the end? Thing of beauty!
Local knowledge helps and so does having your trim tabs set correctly. That sandbar can be a bitch!
I'd rather listen to wind and boats
That first guy was going way too slow.
I’m still waiting for the rough water to start.
Dude my little flatbottom lakeboat would flip so roll over so fast on that weather once i was in the juipter imlet and my dad was driving and he tried to cross a yachts wake and we almost rolled alll the way over and it flipped us around and i got flung out of the boat
Any ‘captain’ who allows a following sea to catch up to his boat deserves to sink!
3 boats.....wow
Trust me on this one that music is Rougher than the Seas 😒
Bigger is better!
Anyone know the model of the blue boat? That carolina flare is sick.
Its a Hatteras, likely a Hatteras GT70
@@bobbuilder5362 actually it looks like a big ass Donzi, Hatteras is usually beefier and the side windows are more squared off at the rear. Could be wrong though.
@@robdog1245 I think you're right !
Its a Spencer
@@spenceryachts1890 I met Paul in Edenton last year and showed him this video. He said 'yup, that's one of ours'. Awesome!
