Maximilian Neukäufler is a man of many talents, a spoon carver, knife maker, leather crafter, photographer, martial artist.
When he's not camping in the Canadian wilderness or competing in martial arts in Japan, he's in the forests of Upper Austria working on his crafts.

  • Great video, of an artistic endeavor. What a coincidence to find this one day after I ordered a “spoon-carving for idiots” and two days after subscribing to Dylan’s channel! What type of wood was it? Here in Shimoda I have a lot of beech and citrus (orange) which seem like they would be great for this pastime.

  • At 1:59, I like this technique but I would pull my elbows in, feet spread, and lean my body on it, rather than use feeble and possibly tired arm muscles.
