Electric Water Pump Restoration video
This soviet water pump that I got my hometown, It is my grandfather's. I just know it is soviet water pump at water pump spare parts shop. You can find more detail in the video.

    • @@Drankoii - It's a play on words. The pronunciation of "Russian" is almost the same as "rushing". As in: "The water was really rushing out of there at the end..."

  • I'm always amazed, when watching restoration videos, that nobody seems to have heard of Phosphoric Acid, to neutralize rust on iron and steel parts. They use harsh wire brushes instead, which removes the rust, but also removes metal as well. I used to use the classic gel form of Phosphoric Acid, called Naval Jelly, which I just checked-- you can still get. A light coating of jelly, or soaking in phosphoric acid, will quickly get rid of rust, without eating into the metal. Still, cool video-- I'd have been too afraid to tackle an old electric motor-- the copper wiring is so delicate on these things, never mind the centrifugal starting circuit.

  • Золотые руки! Сегодня редкость, даже у инженеров. У нас пол института не способна лампочку закрутить, а паять схемы иль тем паче перебрать такой вот аппарат своими руками ... дети с дипломами... Но вот у этого парня чувствуется советская косточка ;) Его батя, как пить дать, брал с собой в гараж, чтобы малой помогал ему жигуль ремонтировать...

    • Чего там золотого? Он грел горелкой трубу а не алюминий в который она вкручена, потом просверлил болт-пробку насквозь зачемто , понятно же было что шляпка отвалится , в общем смотрел через "фейспалм", парень типичный гуманитарий , хотя старается конечно...

  • Кама 8 хороший насос, за восстановление 👍, и привет из Перми!🙂 Оригинальный цвет у него кстати серый. На валу надо было оставить закрытую гайку, с этой ржаветь вал будет.

  • For irrigation in my garden I still use vertical centrifugal water pump made in USSR in 1980s. Without any repairs. And you've restored "Kama-8" pump perfectly.

  • кама8, делали на пермском электротехническом заводе. неплохой бытовой насос, надежный, может выжить, даже если его утопить немного. есть и неприятная особенность: очень требователен к всасывающему трубопроводу- он должен быть минимальной длины и герметичным. малейшее подсасывание воздуха и все, насос крутится в холостую, перегревается и умирает(конечно, если не уследить).

    • @@ValeryJan вот откуда вы такие вылазите только... Любой центробежный "соснул воздуха, и писец". Только со встроенным эжектором более-менее прокатит. И Кама это или Даб - похер. Но мозгов-то не хватает для знаний, а вот для обсерания - запросто.

    • поэтому: чтобы не провафлить насос, ставим на него дополнительно термодатчик перегрева, я такой на свой моторчик вентилятора холодильника прилепил. Автор о таких видимо не знает, а то бы поставил тоже, там внутри ОВД места много. И провода спаял хреновенько, надо "обворачивать" вокруг пистонов, иначе отваливается.

  • That gas burner flame was not hot enough. If you have the possibility try with acetylene/oxygene. The goal should be, to get the outer part hot before the inner part heats up too much.

    • What @Kosekans said. When trying to 'free' a seized bolt, heat the outer casing, not the bolt. The outer casing will expand and release the bolt.

  • Had a pool pump fail due to a leak , problem was that specific part no longer exists ( tried Ebay gumtree etc.) Ended up buying a new one but if it can be restored then go for it...sometimes you cant though due to limited parts etc. Great video
