I remember U68,that was very cool.I remember also channel 59 and 63 where in the early 80s they had the first video starting at roughly 8am and the last one at midnight. They would have Cinemattractions at least 3 times a day.You would be shown a clip from a movie and asked a question. The person that called with the correct answer would win a prize.Example, they had one from "The Heavenly Kid".now the question was "How many cigarettes landed on the pizza?I was over anxious and said 4".Very close, but it was actually 3.Disappointed ,prize was camping equipment. Now,most,if not all would have singer or group name ,the song and record company. All info for each in the bottom left corner of the screen ,for instance,Sheena Easton,Sugar Walls, EMI.A video could be shown without the info e.g.PRince and the Revolution ,"Automatic ".

I've been reading some of these old comments and it dismays me that so many compared him to Elvis. Chris is one of a kind. In his own category. So why did I, in 2021, just discover him? I'm pretty sure I wasn't living under a rock. Wasn't he promoted (another word for worked to death) well when he first started? Regardless, he's got a fantastic voice and is talented beyond belief! I'm sorry I missed him "back in the day".
@cynthiasatterfield83333 жыл бұрын
I know I'm in the minority here but Elvis never did a thing for me, in any aspect. Chris **is** one of a kind. The fact he *looks* like the clean-cut, All-American boy-next-door type, but just under the surface is all this dark, gritty underbelly - but also totally tongue-in-cheek - vibe is what makes him **wholly** original. 👍🏼
@marchi.fleming2 жыл бұрын
The problem is the marketing of popular music. Most will try to sell you a face before they sell you the actual product. Consequentially, many people who consume music only do so at face value (pun intended lol) It reminds me of when Oasis got big because people began to compare them to The Beatles. An utterly ridiculous comparison because they're nothing alike. Liam Gallagher simply had a mop top. Chris and Elvis are nothing alike.

I first saw the band at a college bar in Virginia back in the 80's. I think the Silvertone album had not been out long. Obviously, the show was perfect. it was a small venue but the sound they made was incredible. Of all the comments I hear about the voice, the band, his looks and hair, one major thing is overlooked... his sense of humour! He said so much hilarious stuff between songs that you are convinced if his couldn't play music, he could easily have been a comedian. Also, take a look at his nose, the man was an accomplished boxer too! Point is he is a man's man, great guy, super talented and good hearted. Mondo props to him and the Silvertones.

Chris is in a hibernation chamber, never ages and each time you play it, sounds better and better...
1:00 James Calvin Wilsey, the lead guitarist, hidden legend behind many Isaak's top songs!!!!
This hit from Chris Isaak was heard on the Miami Vice episode, Payback, which aired on March 14, 1986. Miami Vice will always be one of my all-time favorite shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama.
Precisely what brought me here brother
I’ve loved Chris Isaak since I was 16 in the 90’s and now my daughters do too. The world’s sexiest man hands down
I love him. Has a beautiful voice and is so handsome. All songs make me feel happy. México loves you Chris Isaac thanks ! 😍😘
The voice, the looks, the production, the video... goodbye golden era of pop music.
This man has a great voice and style not to mention he's drop dead gorgeous....
First saw this video on U68 in 1985. Been a hardcore fan ever since. Silvertone is a perfect album.
Those early years were amazing! Things got a little tender and sappy over the years but he and the band have certainly maintained their integrity. How fortunate for you to have seen this from the start, 85 was the year I was born!
One of the best live concerts I’ve ever attended - what a show…..!!!
Check this Chris Isaak - Super Magic/Blue Hotel (Live) kzhead.info/sun/qMqIprKGnZ1jYJE/bejne.html
Damn he's sooooo talented soooooo handsome!!!! Love the pomp !!!! Saw him at a hootenanny yrs back !!!!!
Talented as hell! I saw him live in the late 90s, and it was a such a memorable show.
Good Vibes with this one! The sultry uplifting rhythm got me..Dancin'💗🥰💃
My first cassette tape was Chris Isaak back when I was a kid. Had no clue this song even existed. How it didn’t reach the charts is beyond me.
Part of his charm was his looks, his high notes, that he sings rock, country rock, country
Lovin' the love for Chris, but what about Cal? Those guitar tones are just as beauty as Chris' voice!
Gracias wicked game por hacer que conozca a este estupendo artista
He’s ‘ one of a kind’ 👌so much class!!
One of his best songs
*He's bringing the Elvis vibes*
Elvis and Roy Orbison 💗💗💗
I keep on dancin', dancin'. Nothing left to say, nothing left to do. I find myself alone, I'm thinking just of you. You got me dancin', dancin'. Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? Why don't you promise? To stand beside me. There was a man in a foreign land, in love with a woman that didn't understand. Love is not a thing you command, love is something that keeps you and keeps you. Dancin', dancin'. Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? Why don't you promise? To stand beside me. I keep on dancin', dancin'. Nothing left to say, nothing left to do. I find myself alone, thinking just of you. You've got me dancin', dancin'. Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? Why don't you promise? To stand beside me. Dancin', dancin', dancin', you've got me, ohhhh, help me! Guide me, why don't you promise, to stand beside me. Help me, ohhhh!
HIS FIRST ALBUM! I still have it on vinyl thank God!
First saw this video on U68 in 1985. Been a hardcore fan ever since. Silvertone is a perfect album. loved this since I was 17. Still brilliant.
Dovie, Right you are: Silverstone is a magical album; in my opinion the best "Rock-'n'-roll" album of all time!
still sounds badass after all these years , this video puts the 😎 in cool.
Saw him in concert last night at Wolverhampton in England, bought the best tickets and had the best time
I was at that concert (30.06.2023). Last saw him at Manchester when he did the "Beyond the Sun" tour about 11 years ago. Both were fantastic.
Yeah I was at that one too, been following him since 1991, and I named my son Isaak in 1996. I liked the name anyhow but added a K at the end so it wasn’t too Hebrew sounding and cos I of this angst driven crooner also.
@waspsnorter1714 I became interested in him around about the same time. Got most of his albums. When I was telling my friends about going to see him, unbelievably most had never heard of him........they don't know what they're missing!!!
Every time I watch these old Chris Isaak videos, they make me need to find a man. But no man is that cool, that cute and that amazing character like he is. What a man!
Reach to him now, it's not too late :)
Don't forget the wicked sense of humor! It makes him admirable, he doesn't take himself so seriously. Met him over 10 years ago, he was warm, courteous, and YAAS, way handsome!
And no man would go near you!
Tina H you are too judgemental
Shitloads exist, but they're out of your league, lets be honest.
If there's possibly 1 supreme Chris Isaak song - it would be: 'Dancing' !!! Nobody in Rock'n'Roll has ever put the lyrical and musical dark undertones in compositions like Chris - TheMan !!!
Tres belle voix. 👍J aime énormément ♥️♥️ Tres bel homme. Un charme fou 😍😍. Dans la même lignée qu Elvis. Love you 💕💕
oui
Love this man he's exactly 💯 lluke my love who passed away..I. Know you hear the music 🎵🎵🎵🎵 my Love
this man is unbelievably beautiful
That's right *Love is not something you can command* ...and how I love, Chris Isaak... So Lucky to have interviewed you years ago for your HEART SHAPED WORLD album, in 1989. (I had a crush on you then, and still do now...😍🤗 Lol 😆) YOU go, Chris!😎🎸 Melody Fox (aka the Princess of Rock) LPeaceM
This is my favorite Chris Isaak song. And yes 2 things....that was Denise Crosby and he looks like Elvis.
Like *Denise Crosby* from Star Trek?
@@franciscodeighton3223 Exactly, it is her!
Legend. That is the best way to describe this man.
Heard it first as a 13 year old in 1985, still love this song.
Wow, what a beautifully haunting sound! ❤ Would be great for a late night slow drive. I've always found Wicked Game an incredible song... I didn't realise there were more!
loved this since I was 17. Still brilliant.
I saw him in person Now I can’t stop listening to him
his first single... loved him ever since...
We need this style back
Wow. So young here! He had such a good sound even then.
You made me Dancin' forever with your music. Awesome voice
I've been in love with this guy all my life!
Saw Chris a few yrs ago at the South Shore Music Circus Cohasset, Mass. What a show. There was only him & his guitar and a beat boxer.
How did I just find out that Chris Isaak is awesome? Great song.
Pure gold!!
First time I heard it was in 1986 on Miami Vice the episode Payback, this song fit that story line so well.
You made me Dancin' forever with your music. Awesome voice
I keep on dancin', dancin' Nothing left to say, nothing left to do I find myself alone and thinking just of you You got me dancin', dancin' Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? Why don't you promise To stand beside me? There was a man in a foreign land In love with a woman he didn't understand Love is not a thing you command Love is something that keeps you, keeps you Dancin', dancin' Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? Why don't you promise To stand beside me? I keep on dancin', dancin' Nothing left to say, nothing left to do Find myself alone and thinking just of you You've got me dancin', dancin' Why don't you help me? Why don't you guide me? old-time-favourite . . . just great!
As long as i keep loving Chris i'll never die.
1) Dancin', 2) Wicked Game, 3) You Owe Some Kind of Love, 4) Blue Hotel. The most.
Even though I love Dancing the activity that is I would put Wicked Game easily first although this song is good too!
What??? Why isn't Blue Spanish Sky on here? That's better than 3 of the 4 songs you listed... and maybe better than Wicked Games, but the video puts it on top!
Life will go on.
Lie To Me.
Ilya Anikeyev also lie to me love that song love that he is my twin flame😍😍❤️❤️
Chris is just so hot!!! I just saw him and Silvertone a couple of weeks ago in Vegas. I wish he'd put "Lie to Me" back on their set list, as it, "Blue Hotel," and "Kings of the Highway" are my favorite three Chris songs. What a voice, what a man!
Thank you to the legendary NYC-area UHF channel U68 for playing this in 1985 and turning me into a lifelong Chris Isaak mega-fan.
Fan bloody tastic..... man has a velvet tone..
I sorry for just discovered this song. It's amazing 🥳

Fascinating voice Great song 💫🎶🌹
Everything about this video just oozes cool. It just grabs your attention and demands repeated viewings.
Rock-'n'-roll - can't phucking stand it!!! 1 exception: Chris Isaak !!!
This makes me want to slow dance barefooted in a dark moonlit room.
Very Tarantino ;)
This may be the THE best response I’ve ever heard to a fabulous song, by an outstanding artist. I wholeheartedly agree with you. 👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
If it was moonlit I don't think it would be that dark. But I feel what your saying
Love barefoot

Great. I have been looking for this tune for most of ...oh about 30 years...since hearing it in an episode of Miami Vice. Googling lyrics is tricky, you know?
