TRIP REPORT | First Time on Lufthansa A380 | Munich to Los Angeles | Lufthansa A380
Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Munich to Los Angeles onboard one of the Lufthansa A380s, in Premium Economy, on a beautiful spring day.
My first flight on the Lufthansa Airbus A380. It was a long time since I wanted to make this flight and, finally, it happened. The experience however didn't start as desired: the previous day I got a notification from Lufthansa that the flight was delayed by 4 hours. Luckily, I was able to spend the time in the Lufthansa Lounge and watching planes, so in the end it wasn't that bad...
We took off from Munich with almost 4h and a half delay. After some turns, we set course towards northern Germany and started our route to Los Angeles. We crossed all Germany and entered the North Sea close to Denmark. From there he flew towards Iceland. Sadly, this was completely under the clouds... however, Greenland was without a cloud.
And just because of the views over Greenland, this trip was worth it. I always say that it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth... well, this time went a step further, as we saw it with the sweet light of the Sunset. But as we were flying westwards it was almost permanently with light. I'm sure you will love it. It was more than amazing.
We left Greenland over the city of Ilulissat and crossed the Bay of Baffin, completely covered by the Sea Ice, flying towards another amazing place on Earth: the inhospitable area of Nunavut, in Canada. The weather was even better there. Not a single cloud, so we could enjoy all the canyons, mountains, frozen areas, glaciers... Words can't describe the landscapes there...
We crossed all Canada and entered the USA. From there we flew over Yellowstone Park, Salt Lake City, and the Mojave Desert. Finally, we passed over Las Vegas, before starting our descent towards Los Angeles. Due to the delay, this time we enjoyed an amazing night approach over the city of Los Angeles.
About the onboard service, there were 2 main services: lunch and a small dinner. For lunch, I decided to take the pasta. It was a quite good meal. Around 2 hours before landing a small dinner was served. After several flights with Lufthansa in economy class, I must say that there's definitely a notable difference between the catering in economy and premium economy.
