    • They certainly are, but it’s kind of a small niche. It’s not stuff that most people can relate to. Which is all fine, but that is likely the explanation.

  • Great episode! I just been using the non-qd Warne Xskel mount for the last few years. No bells and whistles but seems solid for a lighter weight mount for a reasonable price.

  • Try a Bobros QD. No screws to adjust, a little tight for gloves, and lever locks are the same. Has ribs. Also, they make ultra low scope and nv/infrared mounts. Mostly AR platform style. Super quick from my lvpo for the house to my day/night hunting scope.

  • I really want to invest in some larue mounts. T2, Fx6, and a 20 or 25x scope and then store them off the gun. but have a pistol laser/laser on the gun to zero to.

    @jbcaptain11@jbcaptain119 ай бұрын
  • The reason all combat weapons now have high sights is the heat from rapid fire, will cause a mirage and "wiping out" your front sight (this will happen if you put 300 rds out of a garand.) This is even worse under Night vision. high sight setups are useful in certain scenarios. "It all depends on what you are doing." Its funny because the cheapest high mount is an A1 carry handle upper.

  • Despite Fitzy's T Swizzle obsession, I still look forward to this every week. You might say I was able to Shake it Off. 😂😂😂 As far as the name of the podcast, keep it the same. I already bought the t-shirt, lol! And there is so much more to predator hunting than just shooting animals. You guys cover it all. I wish that Sgt of Arms would've been able to be loaded up. Those guys are awesome! Not only are they badass gun makers knowledgeable about hunting, but the customer service was amazing! Eric answered every question I had when I bought my 6mm arc from them. I looked at it the other day, we had almost 50 back and forth conversations. He even helped me tune in my .223 Daniel Defense gun. You guys keep up the great work. Yall have the best content on the interweb.

    • Thank you for hitting on the mounting either on or partially on the hand guard! I was at the range a month ago and a dude wanted me to help him sight in his scope at 200. He was "close" (his standard) at 100, but waaayyyy off at 200. So much so, he ran out of adjustment on windage. So, I went over to take a look. He had his front ring on the hand guard. This was on a cheap PSA AR-10 (in .308, of course, so there's the explanation of this ridiculous set up). I had to explain to him that those 2 things are constantly moving to each other, never totally aligned, and never mount that way. I then showed him what mount to get, where it should be set at, for eye relief, and how rigid it can be. Then I literally aligned his sight by pulling his hand guard in the direction he needed to shift his point of aim to. Then showed him by simply setting it on its side, that it can get thrown off, by using part of the hand guard as a mounting point, when it gets bumped and is thrown off again. The guy was new to AR's with scopes, had always used iron sights, and needed some help. We still used his separate ring set, but I helped him get it right, with my fix-it sticks set, I keep in my gun case.

    @dustinshaw2419@dustinshaw24194 ай бұрын
  • What about mount tilt? A 0 MOA tilt seems applicable for hunting distances, but what about for the longer shots that 6arc is now capable of making? Would you recommend a 20 MOA tilt for a dedicated 6arc SPR?
