A guy in my city has a female Boerboel. She's one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known, happy to cuddle with anyone who knows her name - which is Tequila, which I find absolutely adorable - but I witnessed what she is capable of. She loves all kids and goes crazy over them. I was talking with her owner when a child suddenly started screaming, it was clearly throwing a tantrum over something, stomping and screaming. The (probably) father grabbed her by the arm and she screamed even louder, yanking away... Tequila literally jumped for that man, her owner flying down after the leash. She tackled that man, stood on him and foamed on his face, growling like a freaking demon. Fortunately, she reacted immediately to being called back. Her owner got in some trouble for it, but it ended without a lawsuit and noone was hurt. They did take Tequila away for a week for a behavior test, but she was returned. Honestly though, I almost shat my pants seeing that.
Good girl👏
She was doing her job , they are protectors of the innocent . Children especially ....
@@sfcarp9418 I know... The good thing is, she's well trained and doesn't react to other things. When I saw her on that guy, I thought she was going to rip his face off, but other than growling, she did nothing. I wonder how it would've ended if she witnessed more than that, e.g. someone actually hitting a kid. Probably much worse...
@@cyanide166 I have personally seen them snap a goats leg in half just through bite pressure . Which is around 450 psi apparently .... A lions is 600 psi and a Great White Shark is 700 psi ( apparently ... 🤷♂️ )
Sounds like a well trained Boerie. They're used in places like South Africa for protection of property especially farms and plots outside of town etc Mastiffs are good protection dogs mostly because of their size and intimidation factor. Don't mess with a boerie.🇿🇦😁
I owned one for almost 11 years. Was our first dog,a beautyfull female. She was huge, built like a tank, bigger than 95% of male boerboels... She was almost 30" at the withers and around 200lbs,without being fat...you could still count her ribs. She was so incredibly sweet and loyal. Never problems with other people or other dogs ...until our son was born. Our dog was 5 at that time...she was very protective from day one,but in a very nice, calm sweet way. And than we ran in to the neighbourhoods agressive huge pitbull... He would fight every dog in the area...and always tried to get into a fight with our dog,but she just ignored him. Until that day,the first time they met after our son was born.... All hell broke loose...out of nowhere she jumped him...he landed on his back...all 4legs up in the air, screaming like a pig being castrated, just like his owner who was pulling his line, but that 200lbs did not move an inch...the roar she produced scared me i thougt she would rip him apart, but she just dominated him for 30seconds,stept up and walked away like nothing hapenned. She never ever did this to any dog or even cats...but she just let that pitt know...hey i have a new member in my pack...and i will protect him with my life....we never crossed paths again. We lost her 3months ago...miss her so much. Especially my boy...he had her for almost 6years as a big cuddly toy. Warm greetings from the Netherlands.
They are bred for protection, they can be sweet but if you have a soft but mentally strong mind you will get the best of them mine is a joy every day
The boerboel is an absolute unit. From having one in our family he was amazing with children and all of the cousins and family members that came over to visit as well as welcomed guest. My uncle socialized him and never stopped training him he told me with Cody consistency was key. The dog was massive yet he was a snuggle bug, he wanted to be super close at all times and had amazing patience when playing with children. When walking him he could easily take off/break free even from my uncle and he is a big man but Cody didn't even when provoked. He would check in with my uncle had amazing eye contact when training but as I said my uncle told me it takes consistency in training.
Good info!!
Also as a South African who grew up around this breed. Do not let your kids fuck with it, no earpulling, no hitting, riding it like a horse, etc. You will loose your child and that's your own fault. They do not tollerate brats.
That should not be allowed for any animal
I love how when you talk about him fighting off lions he is in his cutest state playing with a toy 🤣
😂😅 same here
Im from South Africa and my cousin's neighbor has two boerboels and they are absolute beasts but they never hurt anyone and are not violent to people , scary bark though 😅
Bullshit. Go enter that yard. And you won't be replying on Utube again lol🤣😂😅
I'm from South Africa , we grew up having and still own boerboels... every second South African has one paired with a jackrussel 🤗
The best duo yet! 😂
You would need the Boerboel to rein in the Jackrussell ! 😆
I'm absolutely loving the mental image this is giving me😂❤️
@@sfcarp9418So true. I love our South African Jack Russell and Fox Terrier dogs.
Can confirm lol
GOD those are beautiful. I’ve gotten obsessed with these mastiff breeds.
I originate in South Africa, and I find it so cool to see videos about one of my favorite dog breeds! Also it’s more pronounced Boor with a slight roll on the R because of the Afrikaans accent
Hello daar.. hoop jy verstaan Afrikaans. Hoe goed sal hulle werk as waghonde teen plaasaanvalle?
@@Macshizzle20 I'll write in English then.. thanks a lot for replying, very kind of you. You've already answered a lot of my questions so thanks for that. Definitely thinking about getting one.. probably a female to avoid competion between my dogs. Thanks👌
@@jansmit327 I’m really glad I could help! Good luck with your doggos!
@@Macshizzle20 👍I have 5 on the farm.. love them all. Enjoy 2023
The Boerboel made the Cane Corso look small. Massive dog right there
I have x2 Boerboels , male and female and now puppies as well . The best afternoon in my life is laying on the grass with them all and playing with the puppies and parents .... They absolutely LOVE human attention and affection . I love my male boxer but my boerboels just have a huge chunk of my heart .... They are fantastic companions and guardians .....
I love the Boerboel, I used to have one and it died last year November 💔
Boerboel is the most beautiful breed of extra large dogs in my opinion. Mine was stubborn during training initially, but I kept at it until he learned the commands and followed them. I could leave the gate open and he wouldn’t walk out unless I singled him to do so. Anyone looking to get one of these needs a huge yard. Thankfully I have 4.5 acres for him to roam around. Not usually a high prey drive, but my Boerboel perfected hunting and killing squirrels.
I physically don't have the capability to have a beautiful dog like him, I do have two pitbulls that keep me on my toes!
🤦🏾♂️
@@arzhur8006 Problem?
They are phenomenal dogs, and as me being an amputee, they would be amazing as a service dog for me. They have the strength and the protectiveness that if I were to fall, they would not only guard me, but they would be able to help me get back up.
They seem to have the same requirements and precautions as the Cane Corso, but I’ve previously heard you state 99.9% of individuals shouldn’t own the latter . Would you say the same for the Boerbeol ?
Same things are valid for boeries, maybe that percentage is lesser, but every single thing he says is correct. Boeries may be somewhat more gentle in nature compared to cane corso. But everything depends on the individual owner as well as the dog.
They are extremely affectionate but in South Africa you sometimes see Boerboels who are left out in the yard alone and they become scary as hell! Socializing them is vital.
My neighbors have a large male and a female and few years younger. They are not fixed & never see a lick of aggression out of them. They play outside with our family’s American blue pit he’s 130lbs. They have never been aggressive towards each other, they were all raised correctly.
My old boss has a dog that is literally those two dogs bred together and he is a fucking BEAST. But also a very sweet teddy bear❤️
I'm from South Africa. The boerbull is the most playful dog. Not dangerous to families at all.
I fall in love with my doggos and find it difficult to discipline and therefore train them properly. Luckily they were all kind and gentle dogs. I would love to own a S.A. Mastiff, however it would be unfair to the dog.
You are better than most owners by simply coming to that realization and knowing the type of owner you are and aren’t 💯
Most South Africans I know of (I'm South African) that have boerboels, are farmers. They are by no means fit for the suburban lifestyle. They're also extremely massive dogs. My uncle who is a farmer has had several. As a kid, and even now as an adult, these dogs knock me over every time they just try to be a little too affectionate. Give them an ear scratch and it'll feel like playing arm wrestle with their heads
You need to get around more..BB’s are everywhere
In my life I've had 1 dobe, 2 rotties, 1 DDB, 1 Neapolitan, 1 Presa, 1 Cane Corso and 1 Boerboel aswell as sheepdogs, JR, chihauhau and mixed breeds. Not for protection or any particular reason other than companions as we are fortunate to have the room in our home and plenty of land. They've all sadly passed away now from old age or cancer now. I can only say from my experience that my rotties, cane corso and boerboel were the most balanced dogs I've ever had with their excellent judgement, protectiveness & friendliness. My presa was great with humans but he would turn and literally rip open a dog without any warning so he was kept separate from the others. That's not to say that this is a testament for all those breeds, I believe a lot of it comes from their breeding for example, my Neapolitan was a liability, he didn't seem the full ticket and had very bad judgement and behaviour, he bit me twice but it wasn't an attack, it was an over zealous warning, unexceptable I agree but he was my partners dog before we met and I don't feel my partner was firm or consistant with him at all so I blamed my partner more than the dog. I honestly think that he was also very badly bred and likely inbred. However, I have been told by many Neapolitan owners that they are really friendly, well behaved dogs.
I own a boerbol as I am from South Africa and she is amazing
We've been considering one for a while, our corso needs a big friend.
They stubborn as hell 😄
Every time i see a dog owner putting a shock collar on their dog i really get an urge to put one on their own neck, crank it to the max and hold the button for like 10-15 seconds for them to see what it's like.
This, and the fact that he is being leash less in a store. I want to shock him for that alone. If one of his dogs attacks a service dog he's going straight to jail for negligence and being sued by the handler. I don't care how well you claim the dog is trained... If you need a shock collar, it's not trained. That said, I have nothing against blind dog vibration/beep collars for the yard to tell them where boundaries are. My last dog went blind and she loved her beep collar as she could play outside without a leash thanks to it.
Tell me you know nothing about dogs, without telling me you know nothing about dogs….
@@missymontrose6882 How so ?
@@vasilvasilev6661u think shock collars aren’t necessary lol How sheltered u are I got bitten by a boerboel 2 days ago I was lucky cause the dog was starting to know me so I just bit my finger he just bit it a little but it went really deep I’m in so much pain right now 😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓 I do feed the dog just to gain it’s trust
I owned 2 and they were amazing with my family! They were protective and the most loving breeed ever. I will be purchasing my 3rd here soon! They are great protector so to speak of the family and very very nice! Great nature when you introduce them to people you want around them! However very stubborn!
I work at a dog daycare, and we all just met our first Boerboel 185 lbs of confident and intimidating dog who isn't afraid to voice his discomfort with certain things. Most of my coworkers are intimidated by him, and I don't blame them at all, so they've called me a few times to help get him back into his room.
Described the opposite of everyone who wants one.
Love your Chanel and insight and tips thank you for your time and effort
A key factor in deciding a breed is if you can physically control the dog. Not many people can physically control a 130-150lb dog whether the dog is attacking someone or something or if it decides to turn on its owner. Be careful when getting a dog of this magnitude!!!
I like the way he always says battle tank . About muscle breeds 😂❤
It’s the drooling for me. I can’t
There are plenty of boerboels who are tight lipped and not built as sloppily.
There are a lot of big beautiful doggies, but there really isn't anything on earth like a well trained Boerboel
this dog is absolutely beautiful
I love this guy this is my favorite dog trainer guy 100% this guy is the real deal
Love all of you educational videos. And to the point. Nice job
Weird question did you film this in Gainesville??
Beautiful babies
Killing it with the outfit bro.
Grew up with Boerboels as child love them very good family dogs and wonderful with children greetings from South Africa
you sir, are awesome!!!
Beautiful looking dog
Good advice.
Dream dog!
My boerboel puppy is the sweetest thing in the world. The good thing about them is that they learn fast
Indie forget his whip and revolver.
Separation Anxiety is Real with them. I wouldn't recommend for crate training.
I’m South Africa it’s so common for us to have the boerboels i had one and then had one crossed with Great Dane
There's literally 10 boerboels in my neighborhood, I'm thinking of getting one
Great intro to the breed for all who know nothing about the breed. Born to hunt, finish it off. I had a basenji mix..quiet, thoughtful, fast, strong, agil. We never has possum or racoon issues...he just took care of critters not wanted in our yard.. This is a beautiful breed..
Most guys don't have the mental leadership it takes to own one. You need to be firm with the Boerboel, they WILL test your patience if you don't allow them to exert enough energy.
I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback as my Service Dog..Caine was a special guy..He passed away 14 months ago..I am so lost without him..
I am sorry to hear that and I hope that you are able to get another service dog.
@@Tiffany12ification Thank you
Boerboel breed is beautiful, ive owned many dogs and never knew it existed.
these are strong and powerful dogs only strong people can be trusted to train them
I've been looking for one of these for quite a while
Such beautiful and sweet animals 😍
yes , finally said what they where used for the boer boel was not just a good family friendly dog , they are beasts exstreamly protective but ic they are well trained just like any other dog bread that needs a lot of excersise and training
2 best breeds right here.
I really wanted one of these and tried to get one. Breeders that I found, would dock their tails and refused to not do it. So I looked elsewhere (South Africa). South Africa was on lockdown and couldn’t fly one out. I got a Malinois instead. She’s amazing.
CUDDLES!!!!
We have a boerbull his name is Tyson. He is very sweet but protescts you or the house
Please make a presentation on boerbol bs Rhodesian ridgeback who is this for differences etc
Both beautiful
Do a video on collar’s
Absolutely gorgeous - beautiful eyes!! 🤩🥰🤗
could u do a video on kangal dog I've thinking on getting one
They are both great breeds l wish l could buy
Seen a couple I will take a bullmastiff or Dogues de Bordeaux over any of these newer mastiff types more of a chance of getting a dog that looks and acts the way you expect it to.
Great dogs
Massive dogg. Not for a grandma no
Go with the Rhodesian Ridgeback instead. A lot less chance for something to go wrong.
I admire you
Bro that outfit 😂😂😂😂😂❤
Are those shock collar’s on the dogs?
Thanks for mentioning my country South Africa
If you can handle an apbt or Malinois this dog will be easy to live with. They are alot like Rottweilers in every way in my opinion. Excellent guard dogs that you will have to show that you're the pack leader very early. Must socialize it as a puppy, if not you will have to put the dog up everytime you have company over.
I wanted a breeding psi of BBS, just was really hard to find a durable working line, found a great breeder in California, pure line but not working, but came from a working line. But he won’t do rights with them. I do not like kennel clubs, especially for a working line breed they are not truly working line, they are show working line way different in my opinion. Anyway I landed on rotties, I don’t breed them often, but I find them to be the best multipurpose dog.. great video 👍
Can they coexist with a frenchie if introduced properly to each other?
I want this guy to do an American bandogge Mastiff
Curious if you would happen to know what breeds would be good for someone with adhd?
What is an example of fair and consistent ?
He'd said, hows that gonna play out in your hood. Lol😂 he'd be biting everyone's ass off. That's what
Love your style. What a 🔔 end.
That Cane next to it is a much better choice for a family dog! 😳🤷🏽♂️
I lost my boerboel a while back. I torned between another boerboel or a corso next time.
I'd go Boerbel. I've had a Cane Corso and meh.
Go boerie bru
@@privateundisclosed4448 there is something about a boerboel. Not many does are as imposing. Huge head , thick chest , pure power that can still out run a horse . And very sweet goof balls with the family that they love and will give their lives to protect. The only thing I could say is my BB was a free thinker. If there was anything she saw as a potential threat she didn't look to me for guidance. She would make the call and check with me later . It was a switch to that protective mode and she was dialed in until the job was done. I'd assume that's because they were breed to be on the farms alone a lot and encouraged to make their own decisions about threats. She looked to me for everything else . Can I eat this , may I walk through the door way . Just not the protective thing.
Then why the shock collar IF you are capable?
What are your thoughts for a jack russel terrier in a climate like Dubai? We’ve had experience with dogs as my dad had a German sheppard for 13 years.
There are ranchers in Texas who need these desperately to protect their land right now. They are struggling with no help. 💔
Maaan I wish I could have one but only in my wildest dreams 😢
Great video. Is that a black cane corso?
I love my boerboel
Have you worked with black mouth curs?
I live in South Africa but I never knew that boerbols were breeded here
i want a tiberan mastif. How should a person with a dog like that train the dog and can it be owned in a city of los angeles
I’ll be the first to admit I’m not that guy😂
Are alaskan malamutes good for families?
I know them fro South Afrika lovley dpgs al my friends had them as Watch Dogs and as Friends i love theme also the Rohdesian Ridgeback is for Lion hunting
Are they bigger than a cane corso? Beautiful pups
On my farm that protect the fences only some people like our security can take them we had to look after 2 boerbulle that is no in the protecting stages. If it rains they go back to there cages.Btw i live on a chicken farm in South Africa called Wolfart poultry farm.
What is the best breed for someone with ptsd, and may not be so social?
