    • ​@@Wyomingchippewawell for starters that fitting would have been accessible without removing the entire tensioning assembly, you also shouldn't try to stretch your metal tracks just split them. In addition any level of preventative maintenence would have kept the track tight.

    • ​@@Jack-jb3uhit wasn't keeping tension and evidently it wasn't taking grease which is why he took the fitting off and checked it. He hit it to try and free it up cause it was seized which is why it wouldn't take grease. Sometimes the fittings go bad or get clogged up with hardened grease.

  • I literally just replaced the runners and both rollers on a CAT 330 today in about a hour. FYI if you'll keep it greased you will never have to remove the tensioner for no good reason just to replace the grease fitting for the adjuster that you can easily access without taking the track off. Im kinda amazed that you didn't remove the hammer to blow out the air filter at this point.

    • Looks like the tensioner seized up to me. He pulled off the fitting and pumped grease through it so it wasn't the fitting. He hit it with the sledge to try and un-seize it and get the machine back to work.

    • @@Krik.. Не сумели разобрать просто. Я так ремонтировал натяжители гусениц на коматсу РС 300 и РС 220. На 220 полегче конечно, а вот с трехстокой почти весь день убил на один. Я же это не из диванного опыта говорю, а то что сам делал. С 2008 года с этими железками работаю, уже надоело.

    • Es muy peligroso trabajar con esos tensores....preferiblemente se desarma completamente, se reemplaza el "perno " que suele tener desgaste , se reemplazan con sellos, retenedores o empaques ... Se desarma en una prensa hidráulica,,, hay gente que ha muerto manipulando de esa manera...

    • Поэтому на импортной технике имеется фиксирующая пластина на клапане натяжения, которая не даёт полностью выкрутить клапан. Ну и ещё момент, если клапан ослаблен, а гусеница натянута как струна то надо быть идиотом чтоб полностью выкручивать клапан натяжителя.

    • Греть бесполезно. Там обычно когда в жиже работает экскаватор под пыльник попадает эта жижа, а потом засыхает между штоком и гильзой и привет, не натягивается, невозможно продавить. Выбивать только шток. Я подвешивал натяжитель вместе с ленивцем на ковше и кувалдой выбивал шток.
