    • You probably don’t want to look up the Chimpanzee war then Ethics, morality, and compassion across species only really show up in nature when things like food and shelter are plentiful (technically the same applies to humans, but we at least have the ability to strive for them in hard times, not that it usually works out that way)

Yes they'll still have to do things to get their food, but they'll always have enough to sustain themselves. atleast until humans came in and destroyed every bit of their habitat... If only they are given a bit more time for these "ethics, morality and compassion" to really show, maybe a couple thousand years.

  • I used to live on the alaska border with BC, and the 'Northern Lights' were sometimes quite bright, but I never saw them that bright. That is quite amazing really, it somehow appears they managed to increase the brightness during the recording as usually even when easily visible to the human eye, they are not as easily picked up on digital equipment. If they were then you would see a great deal more videos of them on the internet as quite a few people and families live where the lights are visible, yet you see it almost never like depicted in that video. i am sure there is something unique about the circumstances of that video, ie the aurora was exceptionally bright that evening, or they had a smart way of capturing it in real time. But it certainly wasn't 'they way the northern lights look' normally...

    • I'm not from the Arctic but I had the opportunity to visit for several weeks several times for business. Seriously, I had to set my alarm clock to remind me to go to sleep. It was mesmerising and I had no idea the Northern Lights danced around like that. And sometimes they show different colours too!

  • central alaskan here, the northern lights are a little different depending where you're from. they're usually slower-moving and dimmer than that, although i believe that in certain places (probably close to the geomagnetic poles) it can be much more vibrant.
