"Go Gentle on Yourself" | Jennifer Garner in Convo with Oprah
Oprah sat down with Jennifer Garner to discuss self-care, training our brains to avoid negative self-talk, mothering during a pandemic, and Garner's new movie "Yes Day." The discussion was part of Oprah’s Your Life in Focus: Be the Love You Need event, presented by WeightWatchers, which aired in front of a live, Zoom-based studio audience on Feb. 13, 2021.
Says Garner: "I think everyone has moments when you are NOT on the top of your to-do list, but there are a couple of things. One, I always move my body - and that is for me. It's for my brain, it's for my happiness... And the other is when I am overwhelmed, I put myself first by saying 'Go gentle on yourself. You don't have to be everything to everyone. And you don't have to even be everything to yourself right now. Just never hurry, never worry, one step at a time.' And just remove guilt from the situation."

For two years in a row my resolution for the year was to say "yes" as often as I could muster. How this came to be was I awoke to yellow sticky notes throughout my travels through my morning routine that all said, "Just Say Yes." I asked my husband, "what the heck?" He replied, "you say 'no' a lot....... my response - "no I don't" (smh). It was hard to say 'yes' more at first but gradually my world got bigger and way more fun. So I adopted the same resolution the following year.
I pray Jennifer finds a man to help her raise her children. She is so beautiful and deserves someone great. Blessings to you Jennifer.

Not phony, fake, or just for show. Too often people pretend to be someone they aren’t... to be held in a higher regard by others. Every one of us have faults as I’m sure she hasn’t been faultless in her lifetime, but she does seems to truly be a genuine and decent human being and that’s quite refreshing. 🌺🕊

But I can’t relate to any interviews like these because some of us didn’t know where our next paychecks were coming from this past year, and quarantine and isolation amidst incredible uncertainty was much more challenging when you didn’t have a choice but to keep going round the clock to make it through.
