I was curious, how is Jerry? Will he be visiting soon?
Stephanie ! I hope u read this asap. Don't store your things in that metal container, everything will get ruined. The humidity, moisture content will destroy everything. Please put your things back inside where they will be safe. Also love the porcelain combo. Please read this and realize the paneling, books and anything else will get ruined
@@brooke7464they are having ventilation put in .
I look forward to receiving my order. I chose aqua. I do want products that eliminate or decrease plastic, as it is possible.
I may never cross the pond or anything like that; but I enjoy my trips to France with the Chateau Diaries.
🤗🇨🇦
me too!
Me too!! 🥰🥰
Me too!
Me three😅
I have always loved cornflowers. When I was a child we always called them bachelors' buttons.
Yes, same here
Thank you Stephanie I am one of your patrons from California. I love your blogs. I have a 7 year old daughter and because of your blogs I am able to show her a different culture. She thinks of you as part of our family. We will go to a store and she will say Stephanie will like that. She has learned so much. In the future we hope to stay at the Chateau.
What a lovely little comment. I know that my now adult daughter and I used to enjoy watching Pretty in Pink together. She loved Molly Ringwald as much as I did. It is nice to have those mother daughter things that you share. I know we would have shared Stephanie and the rest of the La Landa's if she had of been younger and still living at home. LOL. All the best to you and your daughter from a little town on the sea, St Helens in Tasmania.
Thank you for your support.
I truly hope you and your daughter do visit France, one day.
Grant is like a breath of fresh air he gets 'stuff done' so easily. Amberline is also a delight to watch xx
Marie's artistry with plating food is absolutely stunning. How lucky to have her at Lalande
The Swiss put newspapers around the stocks after the cardoons are bunched together. That is how you shroud them so they go white. This is usually done in fall. Its a Christmas tradition to bake them in a gratin with Gruyere cheese. They are delicious! Look up the swiss way to prepare them, you have trim off the pointy bits. 😊
I think you have to peel them, too, right? Mainly to get the veins off, if I'm remembering correctly. But I do love them.
As an Aussie I can tell you pavlova is meant to be rustic. Even restaurants do them rustic. No one does smooth. It gives the lumpy parts a chance to crisp up or even go brown if you hold a flame over it
Too right! 🇦🇺
Aussie pavlova always the best.
Coming from NZ .... I concur. Always rustic!
From NZ too - agreed. Too perfect looking pav usually means from the supermarket… which is ok but not what Marie is going for!
In England too. Fussy food is ridiculous imo
The walled garden is almost like an english cottage garden, where flowers and veg were grown side by side. Lovely!
My mother used to cut het rose bushes right down every autumn, and she always had the most beautiful display of flowers every year 😂😂❤
Allergic reactions to the recent flower delivery; headache, etc? The culprit is the tall spikey, yellow bloom plant commonly called Scotch broom or any variation of broom in English-speaking countries. Its species name is: Cytisus scoparius, and is native to Europe and Asia. It is an invasive plant here in the US and the bane of Spring allergy season.
Marée as an Australian I can assure you that the best pavlovas are not smooth sided but rustic and freeform. I always dab my mixture with the spatula to make extra peaks. Your mini pavlovas were PERFECT.
The walled garden looks amazing! Marie’s cooking does too! La Lande is fortunate to have wonderful people with amazing skills.
I never paid much attention to gardens when I was growing up but the older I get I can easily see myself puttering around in the chateau's walled garden having a wonderful day in an absolutely idyllic setting.
Stephanie maybe buy a steamer to get the creases out of the table clothes. Just hang it up over a clothes line or on clothes hangers and steam the creases out and will be so much better.
I think she has mentioned she has a steamer for clothes and drapes, perhaps hasn't thought to use for tableclothes.
Grant is great to watch, so is Marie's cooking.
After seeing your Hyssop herb we learned in addition to fragrance & soaps Hyssop is used to alleviate symptoms of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections and the common cold! Thank you for the idea! ❤️🙏
Thank you! I have had luck with chamomile for head congestion this week. As someone who is sensitive to many over the counter drugs, I am relieved to learn that I do respond well to some herbs. Seems Marie does too
I use a great French recipe that combines hyssop in a peach cobbler-style tarte. The crust for which is lined with rose geranium leaves. Délicieuse!! 🤌🏼
Marie is honing her chef skills. The dinner looks fabulous 🌟
Please take us to visit the chickens sometime soon. Seems like it has been ages since I’ve seen Beethoven and the others. Do I have the name right? I can’t remember the name of the person I just met, but I remember the name of a small black chicken in France with funny head feathers.
😊❤
The Roosters were killed a while back. There is a vlog notification about it. I just this episode asked about the girls myself and others that we’ve been out to the garden many times and not gone near them. Which is SUS! My fear is they my have died to that day or another. 😢
Someone in the comments recently said that all the chicken have been killed by a fox in a single day
@@mireille4751Oh no! I was wondering why the chickens haven’t made an appearance. Did Stephanie mention this sad news at all?
@@julieallen5655 As far as I know, Stephanie didn’t say a word about it. I understood it from some comments. As I m French, I doesn’t always understand everything very clearly and I may be wrong. Well, I hope I am wrong. It seems certain that at least the roosters were killed by a fox. It happens very often in the countryside in France.
It will be very nice to see all the flowers that will be growing in the veg table garden
Purple potatoes have lovely flowers, and fantastic flavor.
Everything outside and in looks beautiful and inviting.
My bachelor buttons from last year came up, I have both dwarf & tall planted. The blue gets me every time.
Love the walled garden, what is happening with the chicken coop! Haven't seen it lately?
I just asked since the roosters 🐓 were killed she has gone down to the chickens area of the garden. Makes me think that they all might be dead. 🤷🏻♂️
@@ninofromsicilia Someone in the comments recently said that all the chicken have been killed by a fox in a single day
Careful with this piles of book boxes, the weight might damage the building ...
I love seeing what’s happening in the garden. ❤
I don't think you will ever struggle for content. I'm happy with just a walk in the woods daily. There is so much to see and enjoy. Today I made a little arrangement with just foliage.... In a vase which I learned from Marie. I receive a lot of inspiration from this show. Love the day to day life. Keep up the wonderful work. Thanks.
I believe Stephanie has plans to release a collection of Lalande nature sounds. We will all be able to share in the calming beauty of the birdsong, just like Stephanie and Lancelot on their morning walks.
You are right. Stephanie’s vlog is inspirational for many of us.
You need a dolly to move all those book boxes.
A time lapse of boxing books and planting baby plants would have been nice. Ok, a time lapse of anything of any is great fun.
Show what it takes to clean a chateau, top to bottom. Plenty of content there!!❤
Umber line is such a treasure. What lovely playmates for Lancelot.
Being a Melbourne girl from Australia, I love how Greg said yous. 😂My mum would say that means a group of sheep. Lol 😂 Myself and my brothers grew up saying it. Grouse and Ace too 😂
Do you mean Grant?
Has the room with the panels that had to be stopped to put new support beam up under upstairs bedroom done yet? Did I miss seeing it finished? My hubby’s excited to see it too 👍Excited to see it🙏👍❤️is your Mom coming soon? Is there a bookcase for Marie’s cookbooks where they’re stacked on the chair in kitchen now? Soo many exciting additions.. was brilliant seeing your cousin build the top looks great!
It's an enormous job, but they're waiting on reports from an architect/structural engineer to be sure it's done right. That in itself has been a saga.
You should be careful of Lancelot with big dogs .lif they were suddenly to attack him he wouldn’t stand a chance .
I was very worried about that too, but did not want to say anything. But had a fearul feeling about it. It is true animals can change on a dime, and she is very small next to them.
That’s a stunning sunset!
Loved the pretty floral plates and the charming coffee pot. The garden is super interesting. Marie's food looks so so good. Im sure they taste gorgeous as well.❤❤❤
Enjoyed the mini garden tour. Good that you are growing hyssop. It's great for treating coughs & colds. If you combine it with myrrh, you can also treat the congestion that comes with colds or allergies. I have used them a lot. The food looked beautiful.
Never hesitating to be drastic with roses, the next spring will be joyful
Lancelot 👑 is adorable. What a happy and LUCKY dog!
I have been making pavlova for over 53 years and those are not pavlovas - they are meringue bird's nests. Delicious but different! Pavlova is large & is usually irregular, but it has a crispy exterior and when cut, a beautiful marshmallow centre, 4-6 inches high, and usually topped with whipped cream and seasonal fruit. A totally different experience! Kiwi fruit, strawberries and other berries are all favourites. A good formula for a pavlova is to weigh your ROOM temp egg white (don't compromise the eggs being room temp - it's important) and then beat it until thick & dry and add double the weight (of the egg white) in sugar and a little cream of tartar. Beat only until the sugar is well absorbed into the whites. Dampen a sheet of oven paper and pile the mixture into a round and create a platform on top for the whipped cream to eventually be spread. Cook in a 350F oven for about 15 minutes, then turn the oven off and leave the pavlova to dry out for several hours. After the first hour, crack the oven door but don't open it wide. I have probably made 100's of pavlovas using this method, without failure. We used to own a small hotel and it was the Wednesday night dessert and a HUGE, legendary favourite. If you are cooking things that require only an egg yolk, save your whites in the fridge and use them to make your pavlova. Our pavlovas were "freebies" because of saving the egg white from breakfast when people asked for two eggs. Our farm eggs were so huge, that saving the white from one egg resulted in enough for the Wednesday night pav! We usually used about 16+ oz of egg white to make a huge pavlova that served 15-20 people. Enjoy!
The Garden is looking great , the rose buds are quite big looking so be nice to see them out . Its hard to make a good Pav they not easy and Marie did a very good job . They very yummy and even nicer with Strawberries . 🍓
I got my seed catalog in the mail. I'm now in an apartment, so it's my wish book now. I automatically thought of yor garden and your mom. The catalog is Baker Creek Heirloom seeds. It has purple tomatoes on the cover. They are beautiful like most of their things. If you could get them to send you one I suggest you get one!
Container garden! Yiu can do it!!
@@pegglover3244 I live in a very small senior apt with no access to outside. I have a few small plants but no container won't fit. But thank you for thinking of me. We used to always have a garden.
Perhaps the sunset was connected to the Aurora tonight! Please be careful with LittleBit when he’s around large dogs. One misstep with a paw = broken ribs
Can you tell me how you can take time in plating the food and keeping it all hot. I always struggle with that and didn’t know if you had a secret way lol 🤗
Warm the plates in the oven prior .
Marie is humble all out of proportion to her genius plating and culinary creativity!
This was nice and very silly, and very well done today. We had a wedding rehearsal banquet for 40 which was like a dream tonight. I will try to put something up, but, I was bending over and painting the kitchen garden veranda and back terrace porch FOR THREE DAYS with our cranky OLD painter and WAR VET (who was blown up three [3] TIMES (in the war), PLUS an AIRPLANE that crash landed ON HIS CAR!!!...., Dougy. He is very crabby, but he was a friend of my Dad's and we worked it out together until almost the end when he admitted that he was going blind and had severe cataracts, and so I asked him, 'how the hell are your painting then?', and he said, 'by braille.'
I'm still waiting for an update on the chicken chateau
Where is that other garden lady that used to work there before this girl? Kirsty
Kirsty may not work weekends. She is still head gardener. They have a new male gardener getting rid of weeds and Oberlin doing the farm to table setups.
Cardon is absolutely delicious. It tastes a bit like artichoke and is healthy
What a lovely episode...I had a perpetual smile the entire time! The walled garden is looking so beautiful and will be spectacular when all the blooms open. Bravo Ambline! Then Marie's cooking....it just gets better and better! We miss Marie...big kisses from Marisa and David 🥰🤗😘
We use hyssop in a herb mix on top of our our humus. It’s a wonderful taste!
Chef jacket would be lovely for Marie to complement her exceptional cooking skills.
a month at Cordon Blue and the rest is history, imagine what a year would do, produce a mini Juliet Child
Indeed , Marie is amazing !
Absolutely
Didn’t she write recently that she ordered some chef jackets from the US and she was asking whether someone coming to Europe could bring them over so she can save the shipping fees?
Absolutely! With everyone enjoying Marie's culinary skills, she definitely deserves to wear a chefs jacket, especially when presenting the courses to the guests! It would look so elegant and professional. She always does such an amazing job!
More of Obeline,, she seems to do a good job and is far prettier than Dan! And Kirsty is doing a great job as well. And we have not seen the sheep for ages,, or the chooks. Red sky at night, shepherds delight. Weather forecasters need to look out the door occasionally!
I so enjoy my vists to the chateau from my sofa i would love to come in person to vist to walk in the woods and vegetable garden .
It is even more fun in person. A truly great experience.
Your garden is looking lovely, particularly the climbing roses on the wall, and once again Marie has outdone herself with the entire meal, she's a runner for Michelin Chef award. Well done Marie xx
I loved the tour of the garden and the excitement of planting new flavours for the year.
I love the porcelain, all meals, gardening, updates on the chapel, traveling and just watching you, Phillip, and of course Lancelot. I love your accent too and lots of Marie.
Marie, I’m in awe with all you create. 😍 Thank you so much for all the joy! 🫶💞🫶
I love watching every single day! It makes me so happy❤🎉
Beautiful.! I hope you all see the aurora borealis there and can film it tonight!
I live a bit north of them, and apparently it wasn't really visible to the naked eye, but was visible using a camera (I used my iPhone), and was able to capture some images of it. I'm going to try again tonight. It's been on my bucket list for decades to see the Aurora borealis, and I'm almost there!
Marie might be interested. Amy on Chateau de Rosiers is making a quiche using nettles she foraged. She talks about foraging and how you can use things.
I love watching this channel its a boost of positivity beaty n happyness ❤
Stephanie (& co) put a rose petal in your mint tea! Great for skin, anti inflammatory, anti viral and lots of other superfood stuff ❣️🌷
There's a lovely new Robert Kime wallpaper, Cornflower, that would work well in a chateau bedroom, since the cornflower is a favorite among Lalanders.
Was surprised to see Mexican sunflowers in garden. They are a terrible invasive alien in South Africa which we struggle to remove. They make hundreds of seeds and spread like crazy here.
The table and flowers look so pretty.❤
Adorable coffee set🩷
Everything looks so delicious! Good job! 🥰😄
Herend Market Garden coffee set is totally on my wish list - beautiful!
Beautiful coffee set. 😮❤❤❤❤❤
Cardoons..breaded and fried are delicious. You will like it! Love the garden and the tea set! Feel better Marie.
They're amazing, aren't they? I've had them sautéed and I love them. It's a beautiful plant, besides, although a pest in California.
Wonderful gardeners! Their passion shows…
Stephanie I just wanted to say I love your vlogs and am happy to watch anything you film for us! 🙏🏼🩷 I think it’s such a treat that we get several vlogs in a week! 👍🏼😃
Me too! A vlog on Friday! Love it❣️👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful dinner and guests. Lovely coffee set too. 😊
Those plates and bowls are so pretty. The bowls on the yellow plates looked very lovely yesterday too, they went so well together.

Where is Tess, Dana, Ollie? No one wants to be filmed???? Random guest aren't the same!!!! It's sad how much things have changed. Wonder why?????

The garden is looking great and hopefully things will catch up now it’s getting warmer. Nothing in the garden here in England seems to want to wake up lol🤗
Lovely video ❤❤🌻
You can make flour for cooking from lupins
I don't think it's from that kind of lupin. However, nearby I saw fields of what I think are the edible kind.
Love these videos! I love all the little check-ins that you take us on. 🥰🥰 The garden, the outstanding food, the room projects, the chapel. It's all delightful, truly. Thank you Stephanie!

The food is stunning as is everything else

Marie is amazing! Well done on the planting! The coffee pot is pretty.
I would love to have a Chateau la Land cookbook. How wonderful to recreate the lovely dishes of the many chefs and cooks who have appeared in the videos over the years!
