This band has so many sounds. They never cease to surprise me with their nods to different genres or songs. But I wasn't quite prepared for how hard this one would hit me.

yeeeees 👽💀💖
I was expecting a bad review. I then remembered how much you respect peoples individuality. Thank you for your deep reaction!!!☺️
You are very good at deciphering how Tyler expresses his emotions. He can do it perfectly because these are his real emotions, inside experiences .
Not so coincidentally, if you watch footage from young Tyler Joseph becoming a musician, you see a person comfortable with trying and doing ridiculous things. Makes sense his voice benefitted from that characteristic.
Great observation. I've always loved how Tyler embraces and uses his eccentricity in his physical performance but never thought of it in relation to his voice before.
They are literally my everything, after chester this guy's vocals and songs completely consumed me, without tøp I can't imagine myself.
And the fact Chester was a huge fan and has some clips out there covering some of their songs. Game recognise game. RIP Chester
Chester was so special, I will always miss him. Chester would have loved the new top music. I absolutely love twenty one pilots and Tyler’s creativity
One thing about tyler's voice too, is that it's much easier to express the emotions you're trying to convey when they are emotions you have deeply experienced. Tyler can put so much emotion into hia voice. So much of that pain, because he's been there. I could be wrong, since I'm no vocalist, but I think it would be very difficult to match by someone who has never been that far down. Tyler is probably the only vocalist I've heard/can remember that has effected my so profoundly by the emotion he puts into his voice.
so true |-/
Tyler is such an underrated front man. Such beautiful lyrics and unique voice. Always has the audience eating out of his hand. Love this duo. Got my tickets ready for show 7, 8, and 9. 🎉🎉🎉
I’m so jelly! I want to see them live someday, but can’t afford it. Someday 🤞🏻
I’m an old school punk, ex-record store manager, and given my age ( but excellent taste 😉 ), I was late to them. I dug “Stressed Out”, and “Ride” but mistook their “look” to be bratty kids… boy was I wrong!!! I did a deep dive during the lockdown ( because they seemed to bang out a GREAT song, abt the pandemic, RIGHT AWAY!! -“Level of Concern “. It might have been a coincidence, and maybe he had that one ready to go, but I don’t think so. I loved and do love that song, and got me doing a deep dive on them. I was BLOWN AWAY by the duo!!! I now know EVERY SONG by them. And have been listening to everything they’ve done constantly for the last 4 yrs. Great reaction video!!! You got a new subscriber!!!
Yes agreed so much. Twenty one pilots has changed my life so much.
I'm sure he wrote it in the moment. If you consider all the writing he did during the pandemic for Scaled and Icy ("scaled back and isolated," he can certainly churn out the hits. It's like he showed us in Pet Cheetah (and even Levitate), he has to practice to stay on his toes. Pet Cheetah, according to its lyrics, is a song to stretch and flex those writing muscles, he almost threw it away, but kept it because it was helping him. Eminem's similar with how he constantly writes and "practices" and they use their entire vocal range, including a lot of fallcetto.
Love how you described Tyler's music as connected and vulnerable. Out absolutely makes a difference. I feel that so many artists who have a meteoric rise fizzle out so quickly because they do it for the fame or money. It feels like Tyler does it to stay sane and grounded and it shows
When overcompensate came out it drew me in immediately, the sudden shift on this 2nd song reminds me that this album is gonna be wild 🔥 ❤
This is literally one of the best songs I've heard in a while. This album is gonna be something else.
Tyler is such a beautiful and true artist. I remember discovering TØP when my wife and I started renovations on our first home in 2013. Here we are in 2024, and it's my 6 year old daughters favorite artist, and I will be seeing them live with my best friends in Detroit for the 5th time in September. Such a dopamine hit, this song especially. I'll be singing it loud with red duct tape on my jumpsuit.
"that's the kind of connection we all want with our voice..." That 's one of the several things I love and admire sooo much in Tyler.... I'm an actress and singer and that's always the gem we are looking for, I think...the combination of true emotion, vulnerability and techniqe... that's artistry!! Thanks Chris for ths reacion!!! As always, I learn a lot.... 💖💀👽🔥🎶✨
You really have to check out their live performance of "Fall Away" feat Dr. Blum. Its probably one of their best live performances.
fr its timeless, still gives me goosebumps to this day
@@kittiecandy747 same here. no matter how often i listen to it. it allways gives me goosebumps.
hello Chris, great reaction as always! I wasn't expecting you to be a Tøp fan tbh, if you haven't listened to Tyler's storyteller perfomance then you should check it out because Tyler's vocals in that perfomance are angelic. I would also recommend the livestream experience songs, they are in a playlist in Tøp's channel. I would lastly recommend Level of Concern (live from outside). Much love bro, love your reactions ❤
Love these guys and how unique and emotive Tyler's voice is. Enjoyed hearing you talk about it more in depth.
Twenty One Pilots is incredible, all the albums of Twenty One Pilots are. Talking about desperation, the first album ever "Twenty One Pilots" reeeeally shows that trait in Tyler's voice, and the lyrics of the songs reflect that perfectly. It is a rawer more natural album that shows the original starting Tyler, pretty good!
The self titled album is the only album that I can remember that can repeatedly make me openly cry. I'm sure many of us have lived those songs. And the main reason I love TØP so much is because despite that pain, he couples it with the hope to carry on and not give in.
Someone entered the room while I was watching the screaming part without any context and just leave the room slowly without saying a word.. 😅
Please continue, you read Tyler's emotions very well, btw they are sung so well because they are true. Twenty one pilots are unique. Maybe you join to Clique |-/
i’ve been a fan of these guys for a decade and i finally get to see them in october! great review ❤️
"Tyler's voice is built on SAIs" ;-) 4:29
Ive always loved your teaching style! Encouraging people to learn and discover on their own with technique to help find peoples own voice inspired by some of the best music ever made. Greatly appreciate these videos!
I loved your reaction, great analysis and you're right, I love the vulnerability of his voice, on stage and in his lyrics
Fantastic reaction! I totally agree, Tyler’s vulnerability and both of their authenticities are so clear to see, and are a huge part of their success.
Your comment about being able to practice/learn some of the voice skills is reitterated in the Vessel 10th Anniversary livestream. Tyler let us hear some of the recordings from his teenage sessions in his basement. They were rough, but they showed how much repetition he used to get the sound and inflections he wanted. If you havnt seen it, I recommend watching that part.
Love the twenty one pilots content already❤❤❤
Love the deconstruction of the vocals. Got me thinking
What a great break down of this song. Thanks for posting!
And I feel like you get 2 songs, if not 3 sometimes, in 1 song, in many of T O P ‘s songs!
please do more reactions for twenty one pilots! i love these analyses
I really love this video and your analysis! One of the few who really get it. I just have to add, that if you listen much to their music and also to the older stuff, you can feel the difference he is delivering this topic. In this song he is very open about his experience with his attempt on suicide. You can hear this growth since then in this performance. Also when he sings ''can't change what you've done'' in the end, you feel the relieve that he came to that conclusion and can go further in his life, since he became a father and has a wife he loves. This song is perfect in every way.
Just a heads up Warner MG has been taking down reactions and covers of this recently Maybe have a backup cut ready to upload!
Wow, this is the best reaction to next semester on KZhead
This made me appreciate the song on a deeper level. Beyond the uplifting lyrics. I appreciate its technicality.
love your explanation and analysis of how well he expresses through his voice
Fantastic reaction…thank you!
Love your insight and admiration for TOP. I really enjoy your videos and think you bring so much understanding that it makes your listeners connect even more. Well done 😊 |-/ 💛
You have such a beautiful view of music and life man!
Hey Chris! Are you doing alright? I'd be happy to listen Much love, suki
It's been awhile since you've done some Tyler Analysis and I've always loved TOP so this is a real treat for me!!!
What a great reaction, I was not expecting that !
Hell yeah
Warning: NSFW if you're listening this without earphones xd
love your videos brother, i love twenty one pilots too 💜
Chris if you like Tyler's vocal distortion, be sure to listen to the Icy Tour live performance of heavydirtysoul/Jumpsuit
I have been a TOP fan since Vessel and loved every twist and change. This song is my all-time fave to date! Idk why, but this hits with me❤
When you said broken tone I immediately thought about how a big muff guitar pedal alters the sound compared to a tube screamer.
like your enthusiasm man .. keep it up
Not gonna lie, I’m glad I’m wearing AirPods while you’re explaining how he does the exasperated voice because MAN
Such a good review. Thank you
It's interesting, when I listened to the song I always felt that desperation in Tyler's voice, he's always very good at emotions, but in this one especially I felt something more, but I couldn't explain it. With your video I was able to better understand how he does it, and now I'll be able to feel the song even more. You have a lot of knowledge, thank you for sharing! I loved the video.
Chris i ❤ u 👏🏻
I absolutely love your reactions. Would you please consider reacting to any of the Alien Stage songs specially Black Sorrow? it is a beautiful song and I would love to see your take/analysis on this or any of the songs from there💗
Cool breakdown thanks

This song is a true masterpiece
Great video! I would love an analysis of their song: Trapdoor!
Great analysis and breakdown, thank you Also: could you react to some more Sleep Token in the future?

I tried singing in the car but somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence
U should deserve a trillon likes
Chris, if you haven’t gone down this rabbit hole yet, you might appreciate listening to Paul Meany, their producer, singing in his band MuteMath.
Hi Chris. Have been following & supporting your channel for a while now, i find it great what you do. I strongly believe that people would benefit from a Rob Thomas ( Matchbox20 ) vocal/stage manerism analysis !
Great cover! Will there be a vocal analysis of Kings of Leon's Caleb Followill?
You gotta show some of theseguys to Elizabeth and Will!
there is a vocal coach that have demonstrated c5:s in full chest voice in distortion (full belting), who is a middle baritone. What´s your opinion on extending the chest voice like that?
❤
CHRIS CHRIS!! You have to react to WILLOW’s new song called “Symptom of life” you will ascend it’s actually so beautiful to listen to! Ik you’ll appreciate the musical effort in the song👍🩷
Honestly, I really do think that your talk about how easy Tyler’s voice managed to; balance both chest and head voice together; was very on point. As well as your voice; especially with how you’re a voice teacher; and are very knowledgeable; about singing. You are a very remarkable singer. So what is your voice type? Are you a Tenor or Baritone or BariTenor? ✌️
Thank you! I'm considered a high baritone.
@@chrisliepe your welcome. I’m also considered a high baritone; as well. That’s so cool; that you have that voice type; considering how unique your voice sounds. I’m actually honored to have; the same voice type; as you, sir. Your videos are also quite informative; on how a person is to; build a voice; of their own. And you have deemed me such; a helpful tool; in my singing journey. The truth is that my voice kind of goes into tenor territory; but I need a stronger grip on my head voice; for my tenor voice to really be fully developed. Do you have any tips for stronger development of my head voice; that could help me out?
OMG! voice is about sighs. just leaving Scaled and Icy SAI pronounced "sighs'. So, there☮️💜✨🍿
you, sir, have successfully clickbaited me because i thought you were criticising this song and the band 😅 amazing analysis!! 🔥
10/10!!!!
It’s his long lungs 🤭
i love u
Minami - Hollowness.
Just stopped by because I've been watching reacts to Next Semester. Do you always yell-sing-dry orgasm into the mic or was this special because of the dynamic voice going on with Tyler?
This is a vocal analysis and not just a reaction. Yes I always play with my voice to learn things about what’s possible. This helps others do the same which is the goal of this channel. It’ll make more sense if you check out some of my other videos.
@@chrisliepe Gotcha, I was genuinely curious. Thanks.
Your title got cut off at the end and I didn't see "and voice analysis," apologies.
What about Overcompensate?
Check out "Banks Arcade - WILT" or Drown
