ABOUT:
Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

    • My 13 year old is a big fan and has been for years. He told me years ago that the masks and painting of their faces, the things to obscure identity also had to do with some social anxiety as well. They definitely want to break barriers down, not put them up. Rebecca, I am an old lady (51) by some people's standards (lol -- ie, most fans of this music and 21 Pilots' contemporaries), but I have always passionately LOVED music. It's been my saving grace for many years. I say that songwriters and singers raised me and when I need shelter, compassion, and understanding, I turn to music. You, your channel, and your biography are inspiring ! Thank you for doing reviews of my two favorite young singers -- Brendon Urie and Tyler Joseph. That is how I found you, by the way -- I was jumping around on KZhead listening to PATD and watching some random interview segments of Brendon and your review was suggested. I love seeing someone listen for the first time and get blown away in the same way for the same reasons as I have ! 😊 Namaste 🐝✌🐝💗🐝😊

  • Be careful Becca, Twenty One Pilots is another musical black hole you can get sucked right into, never to return :) I tripped over them a few years ago (immediately fascinated by Tyler's aforementioned charisma) and spent lordy knows how long absorbing their albums and delving through all their concert and background video footage. They are brilliant and also bloody hilarious together. I listened to their brand new album Trench all day at work yesterday...YAS!!! Check out some of their music videos - they put a great deal into them. I was very much moved by " My Blood", the newest one.

I simply got lost wandering in the BTS Universe for the past year instead :) Wow, I would love to see Tyler and the BTS rapline just hanging out in the studio exploring music together. Creativity/hilarity supernova. I think he and Suga would really relate on an emotional level, and with RM on the lyrical wordplay. Now watch the Dark Side of the Clique get nasty about THAT idea...

And he didn't start doing anything musical until he was already in high school, which is quite inspiring. He was supposed to go to college on a basketball scholarship. Another commonality with Suga...interesting. And he wrote House of Gold for his mother.

Places that have live music often has the staff not rly paying attention bc they were used to it, so thy out on masks and wore costumes to get their attention.

  • First off you seem like so sweet and you're very knowledgable! And yes- Addict with a Pen is an extremely emotional song. Tyler has broke down singing it live before even. He wrote House of Gold for his mom 😊 As far as the masks go- they use them a lot. I'm almost positive Tyler decided to do them because he wants the person listening to disconnect themselves from him as a person and instead focus on the music. Also they both deal with anxiety a lot and the idea of wearing the masks to feel more comfortable on stage was explored in their music video for guns for hands! Plus- Tyler has more recently taught himself Bass. It's on the new album a lot.

  • I noticed you were unsure of the meaning of Addict With A Pen, and since I love that song so much and feel like everyone should know the meaning, I thought I would share! From what I’ve learned of it, the song is about Tyler and his relationship with God. He mentions how he hasn’t been the best of sons and how he can’t find a drop of water/of “you”, I think the song was him opening up about struggling to maintain faith. It’s truly beautiful, whether you’re religious or not he’s able to make you feel so much of his pain and journey with this song. It’s truly incredible.

  • this. this video is what i want to experience over and over. the first time i listened to twenty one pilots. i know for a fact that i'll be coming back to this video for quite a while because the love i have for this wonderful, amazing, life-saving band is never ending. i love your reactions to them.. i can tell it's your first time hearing them. i too wish i could experience them live (sadly, i've never been to one of their concerts...yet) and i want to relive the moment i was able to hear them. so thank you for this video because it was more than just a reaction for me. this video made me feel so happy and giddy and just so glad to be alive! you're also extremely talented and i can tell you can understand the emotion in music xx

    • Also, yes you could definitely call Tyler a "multi-instrumentalist". He plays; the ukulele, bass, the piano, (the tambourine) and obviously, he sings.
