  • You can hear the nervousness in his breathing and for good measure. In Iowa, most tornados are short and form quickly. It leaves little time for thoughts.

    • My guess is that we're just connecting with it ourselves, and projecting our own sentience / fear. Seems as good a guess as any.

Also for those a little confused, you're seeing just one side of the coverage here, when I am tossing back to Rebecca, she is talking on air explaining the radar, warning, places this is moving towards, etc. This is only my perspective :) Also the triangle comment... literally I started a sentence I had no idea how to finish lol.

  • It was interesting to learn that a handful of people in the Joplin tornado died from fungus spores being released into the air. A bunch were also sickened and hospitalized with drug resistant fungal infections. It's like adding insult to injury that people who survived the physical trauma of that monster tornado later succumbed to exposure to fungi. Tragic. The dirt being picked up here reminds me of that horrible situation.

Personally I would prefer a tornado since I wouldn't mind living in a storm basement as opposed to having part of my home fall on me in my sleep. But seeing a semitrailer launched into the air is scary as heck.
