SHOCKED!!! iPad Battery Life DRAIN TEST 2022

Which iPad has the best battery life? Apple gives every single current iPad the same battery life rating - but - are they all really the same, and how does it actually work for real-life use?
So we’ve got all the current iPads here, starting with the iPad Mini 6, the iPad 9, the Air 4, and then the 11 and 12.9” M1 iPad Pro. I’ve got coffee, so I’m ready to spend the rest of the day running this test. The iPads are fully charged, and are running bluetooth and wifi. I also wrote what I think the results are going to be, and we’ll see if I was right at the end of the video.

    • As a loyal follower of your own “KZhead” because you give fairness among all brands NIOT just only Apple unlike others in this category I am begging you , to do a video on the “CONS” of Apple and what they are currently doing to those of us who have been forever loyal to that Company and now that Loyalty is a driving force behind forcing their own loyal customers to spend money on more Apple products or be forced to keep existing products that are in linger functioning within the Apple Eco-System. This is not the iPhone, Yet as those continue to receive updates that allow other older models to function, I am talking Apples high end products aka the MacBooks iMacs. Again after purchasing an extremely hard save $999.00 dollars to finally get my first Mac being the 2020M MacBook Air in Aug 2020. Apple decides to unveil in a little sneaky keynote way, the new M1 Chip which as you are aware of into the sane system I pourchased earlier in August with the Intel Chip. Apple refuses to do ANYTHING to those of us who have this sane system without the arguably the most ever important feature EVER intro the Mac Computers the development of their own Chip M1, So much so, that as why Apple is popular is that everything integrates seamless through the Apple Eco-System. Well with the M1 Chip and now Apples devaluation especially when it comes to trade ins and my same 2020 MacBook Air withit that chip has caused my current Air major incompatibility with Anything Apple is doing and it’s getting worse daily with Apps noir integrating because of the new chip and with the release of Monterrey which spells it out in black and white that the new operating system is “Especially designed to integrate with the new M1 Chip and future M Chips of Apples very own design. Also, the entry line M1 all in one system without the Mac Mini which yes is cheaper except for the money it costs for keyboards on was put into again my same 2020 MacAir ago the Same Selling Price. Thus, it did open the door to new potential Apple customers at the price of throwing us loyal Apple customers under the bus and because Apples perhaps number selling point is their own Eco-System has now become a prison for those of us who have supported them over the years to force us to pay even more money for a product that they already own to stay within their ecosystem. So, my current MacBook 2020 Air I am being offered today as it already decreased in price earlier this month is $508.00. To do an upgrade too the same 2020 MacBook Air but does have the M1 Chip. I will have to come up with again $999.00 thus paying $1500 to be able to stay updated with current tech in Apples eco system. So Apple is taking more money from their loyal customers to get access and remain while using this scheme to attract new customers into Apple products. This is and has to be the grossest tactic I have ever seen especially from a Company who considers themselves the leader among loyalist, best and greatest products and service which its at a premium price, You would expect to pay more for the product but you know what your getting, This latest move has now thrown their plan out the window but that information will only be available to public knowledge if those KZheadrs and reviewers like tiyrsef who have become a valuable resource to products and giving honest reviews instead of those other channels who say Apple can do no Wrong? Please do an updated video explaining the latest tactic and what Apple has done using their own ecosystem to entrap already existing loyal Apple customers in a way that can only be described as Extortion. I might as well, throw my 2020 MacAir in the trash! I feel I have been robbed and I have, Now, had I purchased this syste say a 2018 MacBook Air it would be to a degree understandable its time to upgrade but this isn’t the case with me and others, Apple through us in the trash. Again, please keep your reputation and viewership fair like you have done in the past and do a video explaining this, your thoughts, and what you would do if caught in the situation above with a limited budget? If you could graciously do this I wont buy you a cup of coffee I will but you a pot of it and I can assure you it will taste a lot better then the coffee that Apple will give you. PS. You might want to also include the pages of recalls Apple is doing right now on its products. Steve Jobs wouldn’t allow this to happen. Thank you, Ed

My sister and I both had iPad Air 4s but hers was experiencing battery issues compared to mine, despite settings saying battery health was 100%. After kind but extensive conversation with apple support, we got it replaced. She’s much happier with it now. Still don’t know how it compares with other iPads since I only use the Air, but those of you in here with battery issues (especially if it seems unreasonably bad) maybe contact support.

    • Good test mate ! If i remember correctly , the air 4 only has a 5000 Mah battery , about the size of a good smart phone battery , ( please correct me if i`m wrong ) , and given that it has a 10 ish inch screen , i think that is actually not too bad , my air 4 is about a year old and i use the hell out of it every day , although probably dont work it quite so hard , and i dont game on it , and my battery time would be similar or maybe a tad better i think , also i have mine sitting 98% of the time in the magic illuminated keyboard case with the 2nd gen pencil keeping charging on top. I`m actually pretty happy with mine , 5+ hours is decent imo , and as i said i usually do a bit better with my use , and it does seem to charge up at a reasonable speed . I am a bit surprised the big banger 12.9 inch did not go for a tad longer , maybe apple could in the next generation tablets sacrifice some of that slimness and bump the battery size up a tad , i certainly would not mind a tad more weight and being a tad chubbier to have more battery time ..

I tend to push my iPads historically to run maybe a half the advertised battery life, so glad to see that the 11”, the one I have, ended up doing pretty well. I suppose that, when taking into account the lack of features of the entry iPad, buying an Air compensates the more than €200 that I'll have to pay surplus here in Spain. The iPad 9 always ended at about 50-60% at the end of the day, while my iPad Air 4 ended at about 20-30%, while being on for the same time. I upgraded from a previous generation of MINI where I was getting over 8 hours on a regular basis and am disappointed with the battery life. As I primarily use the MINI in my job and am constantly in different locations, I keep a charger cable in my car so I can get through the day. My uses are as follows, the AIR mostly for zoom type meetings, the 12.9 as a laptop replacement (have only used an actual laptop a couple of times in the past 2 years), as mentioned the MINI is my out and about work horse. I got the 9 just because I was curious about how good a lower price product would be. I am amazed at how well it is, to the point where if my AIR stops working, I would replace it with the 9. Just my experience with the products.

  • I made a mistake I think. I went after the air 4, but since Apple confirmed the air 5' release, I think I should have waited until march. And the only reason why the ipad 9 went 7H33M is because all the internals are garbage compared to the air 4 for example. So by buying the older air 4, you are sacrificing battery life for usage quality and experience which in my opinion is a win. But since the air 5 is coming out this year, I kind of regret my decision even though the air 4 is amazing by itself.
