Jimmy is spot on. Best of 11 for World Championship qualifiers was ridiculous.
I totally agree with Jimmy, the etiquette is a vital part of snooker. The last thing snooker needs is a load of rabble rousers
Go on Ronnnnnnniiiieeeee 😆
100% should keep the silence. It adds to the atmosphere, tension and love the concentration the players get to have
I was Born in 1965 and at four and a half I became addicted to watching Pot Black. For my fifth birthday I wanted a snooker table. My Father got me an 8 by 4, Inch that is not foot. I wasn't buying it. Even at five I knew I knew I could lean across an 8 inch table to take a shoot like Doug Mountjoy . So I retired at 5 years and 1 month when my snooker table broke while trying to lean across it, I had no rest you see. I am now 58 and still watching and loving The Snooker Magic. Its in the blood red balls.
PS. The little snooker table was made in China! So China have been making snooker tables for at lest 53 years and haven't produced a World Champion yet. YET!
@Davo Rock Chinese are only 3ft 6 so table is perfic for them.
Snookers traditions is what defines it from other sports. It’s unique. Keep the silence. Loving this. Jimmy looking healthier and happier these days. Alan very personable. Two greats of the game.
McManus was underrated imo, on his day you had to scrape him off the table
I only got back into snooker this year after seeing Stephen Hendry’s KZhead channel pop up in my recommendations, I haven’t watched snooker properly for a good 10+ years. Seeing the players on a human level and having a casual chat with Stephen was surprisingly very entertaining. Some sort of T20 version of snooker would be interesting especially on terrestrial TV to get more casuals like me interested.
Jimmy talking sense 100%.
Loving the longer discussion formats, please do more
Jimmy's is right keep the tradition if it's not broke dont fix it snooker is one of the most challenging and skilful games you can play
Jimmy's cue ball control is better than his mic control!
I agree 100% with Jimmy. Funny stuff aswell
Snooker begins with a S. Silence begins with a S. KEEP IT NOISE FREE. Snooker is played in a couldron of silence, keep it that way. It builds the tension it heightens the pressure it shredds the nerves, silence makes the game. 👑👑👑👑
You mean as opposed to the constant clapping on even an average shot it seems now ? 🤨
Fantastic coverage as always Eurosport 👌
If you go into your volume settings on Windows 11, you can choose "Mono audio", which will combine both left and right audio channels into one.
Love ole Jimmy White, I used to watch snooker when i was a kid and he was my favourite turn! cheers Jim! loved the fact he bared all too about his experiences both good and bad which gives you an insight into his integrity! top man!
Jimmy White was a very natural gifted player when he was young, exiting to watch and very attacking.
Kirk Stevens was a fabulous player!😊😊
"Make no mistake". -James Warren White
One of the great things about snooker is the nostalgia will never end.
Don’t you check audio beforehand ?
Patently not !! Inexcusable 🙄
Gotta love these two.
His career now is Eurosport interviews!!
I don't want to sound rude but if Eurosport wants a better audio technician then they can hire me and I can tape those two microphones together.
😂
Alan its a very good comentator😊
The shootout is almost unwatchable for me. A crowd of rowdy drunks shouting and screaming, urgh. I'm sure others enjoy it, but it's not for me.
It’s the modern culture mate innit ...I know , pathetic isn’t it 🙄
I’d like to have 3 tournaments with longer matches, uk B/O 17 the tour championship B/0 19 and the WC as it is, maybe even the masters could go 11, 13, 15, 19
Jimmy White is looking and sounding great. Not much of a snooker fan, and I thought he was on his way out back in the 90s, but he looks better than ever. Good job, Jimmy
Agree with all Jimmy said. He has become a well rounded pundit knows exactly what he is talking about and tells it as he sees it. I much prefer Eurosport to BBC and subscribed just for the Snooker.
Alan might be on to something with his white suits slip. Let’s bring back the Kirk Stevens 80s look!
I’d love to have seen Ray Reardon and Eddie Charlton in headbands.
I think Eddie wore an elastic band to hold his syrup in place
Ya ya have respect and turn up outa your bin 😂😂 good one .
Those were the best times
I fucking love these two✌️
Alan is so yummy and getting better with age.... Jimmy what have you done to youself , you are a fantastic iconic epic person, we love you but please take care of yourself Xx
First to 18 for the final, yes. First to 10 for the first round yes. I would tweak it so that the target is 2 extra frames each round, so 12 then 14 then 16. 6,7,8,9 would be fine for the qualifying rounds, again so each round requires a little bit more.
I would make the Qualifiers and all rounds to the final best of 19, with the final being best of 25. The tournament is far too long. I would get rid of best of 7 frame matches in the home series events and make all matches best of 11 frames to the final with the final best of 19. I would also change the ranking sytem. Make it a rolling one year system instead of two and have a separate monthly rolling ranking sytem with the entry of more tournaments dependant on a players current monthly ranking. I would have a 30 sec shot clock in tournaments with two 90 sec extensions per frame. I would have more ten red and 6 red tournaments on the calendar.
Jimmy is right about the entertainment aspect. Snooker with flashing lights and music is just stupid. The game is about contemplation and focus. It requires refinement and respect from the audience, not a party.
Quality Mike on Jimmy there - glad it was tested beforehand.. very rhorough Eurosport 🙄
Alan could do with letting Jimmy speak more when he asks him a question IMO !
Jimmy White = Left Speaker Alan McManus = Right Speaker
For me the format is great apart from the 33 frames for the semi, always felt too close to the best of 35 which should imo be a totally different experience from every other round. I think 31 or 29 would be better.
I remember up until some time in the 90s, a semi-final match would be a best-of 31 affair which I could understand. Either that or we revert to the final being a best of 47 affair which I'm not sure would go down well in this day and age.
There needs to be one more tournament where matches are longer, like in the 80s when it was best of 31 finals. China dropping means there isn't the excuse of too many tournaments anymore, the endless best of 17 and best of 19 finals get samey
is Aln on the BBC this year for the WC?
You just cant help but love Jimmy. Always makes me smile, what a legend.
always rembember alan beating hendry in masters final .nobody else could do that
I wish Jimmy would talk into the microphone f g s!
hope they never change the world snooker its perfect .need the long games to find the best.hate these short games these days should never be below best of nine .
Ian Williamson agreed the matches should NOT be to short as a lesser player has more chance to win, whereas the longer matches the better players usually come through.
@@johndean4765 yea should never be less than first to five
Can you put subtitles on for Mcmanus I can't understand a fookin word he's saying!!
Well there must be something wrong with your hearing cause everyone else can including jimmy
@thomas Something wrong with your eyesight. I never said I can't hear him, I said I can't UNDERSTAND him. He's talking jock jibberish!!
@@wanderer1955 your talking jibberish mate you know what i meant
@thomas Even you don't know what you mean, lad. Just do as your told and put them subs up or ño subscription from me.
@@wanderer1955 didnt understand a word of that
I think the shootouts the worst thing thats ever happened to snooker
Agreed. The shoot outs are an insult to the game of snooker.
Maybe the 80's would have a better sound quality ?????
miss the charactors of the eighties .big bill .john spencer etc
Jimmy and Angles. Just a delight, the pair of them.
Eurosport do a better job than bbc. Change my mind
Nah, take it back to the 1970's and have a best of 73 frame final 😲
They should sign up for lessons on how to use a microphone.
I agree with Jimmy. I can't stand all the razzmatazz bullshite and silly nicknames in the introductions of the World Championship. I now switch over while that shit is going on, then turn back again after a bout 5 mins. Snooker is a calm reserved sport it's not WWF wrestling.
Jimmy is a great lad but unfortunately couldn't handle the World Championship. Bum twitched everytime. Partying with Coke Stevens during a tournament didn't help.
Git rid of the random voice shouting out questions…what point does it serve when McManus repeats the question anyway
Sorry Jimmy, I have made _some_ mistakes
It's a bit annoying that their voices come out of the opposite speakers of where they're seated. Unprofessional that is.
The shootout is a farce. The format itself is interesting enough without the fans acting the idiot
I think they should move from Sheffield. Too small, cut down the frames and match length too.
Snooker's problem is that it is stuck in the 80s, there is no other sport that lives in the past like Snooker. Yes Snooker was massive back when there was 3 TV channels to watch but its time to move on and grow the sport. It doesn't help that they wheel out presenters and commentators from that era who just want to remember their glory days.
I agree regarding the ‘ bygone era presenters’ ; a good cull would be a welcome refreshment ( including Steven hendry )
