The commentary from those games in 30-60s is so funny sometimes
YES SIR
LOOK OUT FELLAS
galloping gale!
@@themangoman7418 😂😂
I would also say the 2003 season was also unique because it’s currently the only NFL season in which every team won at least 4 games.
Wow. Good memory & good call
@@christopherengel7436 And I believe that's gonna be the same after this season, because I know that the Lions have not won a game this season.
@@christopherengel7436 And also, I have already stopped watching the NFL by this point, because it made my depression worse.
@@LoyalColoradan I agree it's just so depressing
@@LoyalColoradan that’s changed now
I was so caught off guard by the "YES SIR" at 1:04 lmao
Same 😂
He's way ahead of his time lol
@@BruhMoment-hh4ff he had to have time traveled
Lol I yelled it after I heard it😂 I was all 😳 yesssirrr!
@@BruhMoment-hh4ff ah yes, because noone in history has said yes sir before 2020😲
My favorite is where a kicker won mvp
George blanda ?
Eric Sigersmith Mark Moseley in 1982, he was the last straight on kicker
@@ericsigersmith6067 1982 the strike shortened season
Not the only one
@Harry Engel unfortunately for Blanda he isn't really remembered for being a QB even though he advertised himself as simply "a quarterback who could also kick"
The old highlight narrators in the 30’s and 40’s are the best lol
This is the content we need in this day and age.
Facts.
When you put it into perspective, the 2020 nfl season isn't that weird. Its just stadiums with no people. Compare it to 1982, 9 games, 16 playoff teams, and a kicker winning league mvp.
And it was utterly pointless not letting people into the stadiums
I've just been getting into football during the 2020 season, so videos like this are a good way to learn more about the game.
You from US?
Respect for the honesty. Tbh keep watching these videos on here that's a good idea.
2050 NFL season is going to be played on Mars
Nah, probably in our graves
No we will have a city by 2050 foot ball will be played on Mars in 1000 years
Yeah, you would be able to jump 12 feet up in the air just to catch a football.
@@kingruss8613 I don’t know if your joking but it won’t take 1000 for football to be played on other planets
@@adrianpena800 just joking chill
Hey nfl thanks for keeping me entertained while I recover from Covid
Not league wide but Katrina in 2005... Saints home opener in New York and only 4 home games are played in Louisiana (none in New Orleans). Throw in persistent rumors that they would stay in San Antonio, and it was a sickening year of football. Going 3-13 didn't help.
Then Drew Brees and Sean Payton arrived, the team returned home, Steve Gleason blocked a punt, and the rest is history.
Kind of odd that Joe Gibbs won 2 of his championships in strike seasons
Washington is fraudulent
Does that make him a strikebuster or a scabmaster?
I think thats a testamemt to how well he can conduct business amid Kayos !
Mickey Mouse before Mickey Mouse
At 8:17 they cut off the announcer yelling “touchdown redskins” and skipped to the cheer
Probably cause they're not the *name redacted* anymore. Lol Now they're the Football team. 😂
So cringe. Like they're erasing history like China with tienimen sqaure
This was a very needed vid. Real classy.
Really needed this video at this kinda time. Thanks.
Cowboys fan?
2025 Season will be played on franchise mode
The history in this video alone is the reason why I am a true football fan. Best video I’ve seen in a very long time. Thank you so much!
Oh how the times have change. Could you imagine a billionaire owner serving in the military today? Shows how great the country use to be.
The irony; I wonder if he profited off of war like his contemporaries or was he deemed too poor?
7:19 Tom Brady called, he wants his football back.
Warm Liquid Goo Phase You’re the worst

Great history lesson. Thanks Kyle and NFL.

This was awesome. Seriously, great work.
So in super strange years, with possible cancellations, Washington wins? Imagine it happens again lol

Why not?
@@justinpettit3432 it would make everything uneven unless they add 7 other teams with them
Now they're the Detroit Lions
1: Am I the only person who likes the name Steagles? 2: So we're not going to talking the guy flipping into a chair perfectly at 4:30
Players: goes on strike Washington: Hold My Trophy
It’s certainly won’t be the same this season w/o the roaring of the fans
Sports 311 how I felt about the nba but trust me the intensity will come.
3000 season will be played on Pluto or outside our galaxy
2020 takes the cake. No fans ? It doesn't get more surreal than that
I love this vid. I like it because I get to learn all about my favorite games history
I feel like Kyle Brandt is the NFL’s League Historian
Hey, I saw you on First Take with Stephen right before Kickoff started on TV, I think. i couldn't higher up the TV's volume because my mom was sleeping. BTW I believe you're very cool and awesome. Also TBH watching the Throwback with Peter is very fun. I mean I can watch it on DVR too. But what I'm asking is Throwback cancelled because I don't want it to go away. It's still fun even if I eat dinner that my mom makes.
Biggest what if’s ever are what if Drew Bledsoe & Trent Green don’t get hurt , what happens to Brady & Kurt Warner’s careers ?
They most likely don’t happen. Bledsoe and Green would’ve retired eventually but they still had years before they got injured
Yep
Or what happens to Drew Bledsoe career. I mean they signed him to a 10 year contract that off-season. They would've wanted him to be there for a while.
@@justinpettit3432 Which also means Tony Romo's career might never have happened either.
Don’t forget Orlando Pace on that legendary Rams team! His superb blocking partially helped Kurt Warner win MVP that year!
Wow great vids
well done. thank you
1:05 The first “Yes sir” in history 😆
7:47 So I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. Seeing this in other leagues during the 2020 pandemic with the bubble playoffs.
Imagine getting a heart from the nfl
I got one a few days ago no biggie
Same I posted it on my insta @itzbigtasty45
itzbigtasty45 aye
Error: 18:20 Thursday Night Football has also aired on NBC in the years that CBS and NBC shared the package
Marino's record setting year in 1984 has become the norm in the no-defense 2000s. No runner will ever break Dickenson's record though, they'll never get enough carries.
I think you should just do a full on documentary now. Starting at the beginning and detailing every change and thing of note from every day/week/month/year/season in the nfl history.
I live about 30 min SE of Portsmouth. They still have the stadium there, as well as a mural that documents the Spartans history in the city.
Where IS portsmouth located?
@@wiggz2254 Southern Ohio. Right on the Ohio River
Monday Night Football on ABC will never be forgotten 1970-2006
It may return with the new TV deal they're working out
I hope it comes back! MNF on ABC was the best!
Could you imagine what Reggie White's contract would look like if he was playing now? He would probably be making 17 million after two games. I don't know how I never realized new single season passing yards, pass TDs, receiving TDs, rush yards, and sack records all were set in the same season. We might not see something like that happen in the same season ever again.
1:03 “yes sir”
TNF also aired on NBC in 2016 and 2017, possibly before then as well
3:06 he sounds so bored XD
You should add an addendum to this video for 2020 Steelers vs Ravens Thanksgiving debacle.
“A Bronko Nagurski jump pass to Red Grange” is the most 1932 sentence I’ve ever heard
hopefully the rock and the queen can come back for week 2 this year
In the 2020 season, we've seen (As of week 12): - *insert the endless effects of coronavirus here* - The Broncos play the Saints without a quarterback - Tom Brady leaving the Patriots - The Browns being a good team - The Buccaneers being a good team - The Bills being a good team - The Dolphins being a good team - The Patriots being an average team - An injury at FedEx Field that wasn't a player for Washington - An entire division with every team holding a losing record - A team that will likely go 0-16 (I'm calling it along with everyone else) - An expanded 14-team playoffs - The Raiders officially move to Vegas It's been rather eventful.
An entire division of losers has happened before in the nfl
I think the Panthers and Seahawks both made it to the playoffs with a losing record
In the 1970 merger, two teams were exempted from having to worry about moving-the Giants and 49ers. Reason? Geographic AFL neighbors in the Jets and Raiders, respectively.
@14:48 R.I.P. Kevin Greene.
My Dad worked with Sam Mills doing construction before I was born way back in the 1980’s. Sam wasn’t being paid enough by the USFL to fully support himself so he had to work a second job during the off-season. Then he finally got a shot with the Saints and went on to make 5 pro bowls and be named first team all-pro in 1996 at age 37. The Saints also snagged Michael Lewis off of a truck driving job to become an all-pro. Insane. Both guys were right under the Eagles noses. Lewis was signed by the Eagles but didn’t make the team and Mills played for the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL. Stupid Eagles.
I thought there was going to be a joke in it that went like "in 1988, the falcons were up by 22, and DIDN'T lose!"
Great historical video of the NFL For a lonely American Football 🏈 fan over here in Northern Ireland. Ps, GO 49ERS!!!!!! PPS Only one complaint, no mention of the great Joe Montana?
1:05 yes sirrrr
Dan Marino was ahead of his time
Unfortunately he ended his career with no rings😔

HI NFL
Hi 👋
@@NFLVault hello there
This was a great video. Holy shit
They didn't mention the referees going on strike in 2012. That was strange. (Packer fan btw. Fail Mary was awful.)
In 2120 we’ll be playing football on Uranus
When they were talking about the 1987 NFL Strike, they said that the players called the strike off with a new CBA. That wasn’t true. The players returned to work without a new agreement.
Terry probably did that after they changed the corner rule because at practice thats what he dealt with.
Footsteps Falco
2020 was the first season that I religiously watched all 16 games. I probably couldn't have chosen a worse year for my Texans.
“They sent the cowboys packing in the divisional round”. Somethings never change. 🤷🏽♂️
18:12 you forgot NBC?
00:58 Everyone focused on the announcer saying "yes sir"... Me wondering why no one is talking about that absolute cannon of an arm.
2020 was like 6 previous seasons. Tom Brady led his team to Super Bowl victory and was MVP of the game.
So in the 1940’s football players carried 1903 Springfield’s? Just curious of the history of this. Had to ask because of 2 clips of them with them.
Those Redskin Teams were badass.
It's hard to picture the Cleveland Browns being as dominant as the Patriots were
surprised by no mention of the replacement refs
I think you forgot about the new playoff format
This year
5:30 colts, browns and steelers got an offer they can't refused
The 1932 catch was 4 yards behind
17:01
I' d love to see the kicker as MVP this year
Honorable mention: I would say the 2022-2023 season was unusual because of the cancelled bills bengals Monday night game, Pray and Hope for Damar🙏🏼#3🔷🔴
I'm VERY surprised you didn't mention 1992, because not only was that the year Favre started for the Packers, but 20 out of 28 NFL teams that season couldn't finish a full season with their starting QB. 7 of those 8 made the playoffs, the only QB to miss and play a full season? Jim Everett. That number wouldn't be seen again until 2017, where 12 of 32 teams finished a full season with their starting QB, and it was nearly matched this season with 13 out of 32 teams. One of the worst years I have ever seen for QB's.
So Dan Marino changed the game.
45 passing yards a game😂😂😂
2:50 imperfect season offset due to ww2
GO RAVENS!!
2021 NFL Season will be like 2020 NFL Season.
We’re not gonna talk about the 2002 nfl realignment?
